Note: This role is a Temporary opportunity with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2027. The anticipated end date is subject to departmental and budgetary considerations.
The Crisis Responder I position will reside in the Regional Crisis Response (RCR) Agency and report directly to the Crisis Responder Supervisor. The Crisis Responder I serves on a team of other citywide community responders as part of the RCR Agency, which provides a consolidated and standardized mobile crisis response program operating throughout the jurisdictions served. The RCR Agency is an inclusive organization that endeavors to build a work culture which embraces diversity, encourages participation, and promotes equity.
Crisis Responders use evidence-based practice that promotes well-being through assessment, brief intervention, referral to services, and prevention. Crisis Responders incorporate knowledge of human behavior, sociology, psychiatry, psychology, and many other social science disciplines using advocacy, compassion and de-escalation and crisis intervention skills to support those with unmet needs in a culturally responsive manner. They work as a team, and collaborate with other local, regional, state and federal programs to identify gaps in existing resources for community members. The primary focus of work is crisis intervention, resource referral, and follow-up; this work is conducted in community settings such as health care organizations, businesses, homes, public spaces and at social service agencies.
Distinguishing Characteristics: The Crisis Responder I is an entry-level level position within the Crisis Responder job series. This classification is reserved for those with an associate license. An employee in the Crisis Responder I classification will move to the Crisis Responder II classification when they are able to demonstrate that they have an independent clinical practice license from the Washington State Department of Health.

- Respond to 911 calls for service in the community, both within a team or independently:
- Conduct ongoing biopsychosocial assessments of community members:
- Provide appropriate referrals and resources to community members (e.g., caregiver respite programs, paratransit applications, DSHS applications, SSDI, Veteran's Benefits)
- Follow-up with community members periodically to ensure a warm hand-off to the appropriate resource(s) or services
- Periodically re-evaluate efficacy of the resource(s) or services, and determine need for additional or alternate services
- Thoroughly document all encounters in accordance with policy and professional standards
- Conduct ongoing biopsychosocial assessments of community members:
- Conduct home visits based on referrals from other responders and community service professionals
- Provide appropriate level of support to community members during particularly vulnerable transitional times, such as post-hospitalization discharge to home or to alternate points of care
- Provide community member and/or caregiver/family education on alternative care strategies and resources
- Complete all mandatory training in a timely fashion such as clinical competency, culturally relevant practices, use of appropriate technologies, customer service, and any other assigned program and Department training

Peripheral Duties:
- Performs functions as assigned in the City's emergency response plan in the event of an emergency.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master's Degree in social work, sociology, psychology, human development or other related field.
- Experience: 1 year of paid experience in a health care setting, including public health or behavioral health.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Must have Associate's license as a social worker, mental health counselor, or marriage and family therapist as defined by WAC 246-809.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Prefer American Safety Health Institute (ASHI) Healthcare provider CPR/AED/first aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to conduct suicide/homicide risk assessments and safety planning, or the ability to obtain training within 90 days of hire.
- Paid experience working with older adults and/or adults with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Prefer two or more years of demonstrated experience working with housing and/or homeless issues.

Job Summary
This position performs work under supervision to contribute to the maintenance and operations of City parks, facilities, and public grounds.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for landscaping, turf, and tree maintenance using entry level skills of pruning, transplanting, planting, drainage, fertilizing, mowing, trimming, and edging.
- Responsible for safety, cleanliness, and orderly appearance of parks, facilities, and public grounds.
- Responsible for proper use and maintenance of all tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Landscape City properties including planting and transplanting trees, vegetation, and shrubbery. Prunes trees and shrubs.
- Operate vehicles, equipment, and a variety of hand and small power tools as required to support park operations.
- Help in the installation and repair of park facilities and amenities using basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, cement finishing, and mechanical skills.
- Perform routine service and maintenance (sharpening, lubricating, cleaning, etc.) on mowers and other equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of irrigation and drainage systems.
- Assist in installing brick and cement walkways, stairways, and park benches. Assemble and erect equipment such as swing sets, basketball hoops, etc.

Job Summary
Based on Department established priorities, provides support services in the areas of prisoner transport, prisoner care and custody, alternative sentencing methods, the taking of crime reports, calls for assistance of a non-criminal nature, records data entry and other activities within the Department.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Receives into custody persons arrested by officers, completes arrest reports, fingerprints and photographs the subject, and maintains custody in the Kirkland Police Department jail. Facilitates alternative sentencing programs.
- Transports arrested subjects to and from court or to other detention facilities.
- Coordination of court appearances and schedules.
Essential Duties:
- Booking of prisoners, includes input data, fingerprinting, photographing, searching, inventory and storing of personal effects.
- Interviews all in-custody subjects and screens for medical, psychological, and behavioral issues resulting in incarceration in another facility.
- Attends to personal bedding, hygiene needs, and medical needs of inmates as necessary.
- Arranges court appearances and schedules.
- Provides transports (e.g. court, detention center, dentist visits, doctor appointments, and emergency room).
- Orders and prepares meals for prisoners and other items needed by prisoners.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Keeps the booking and cell area clean and supplied with necessary forms, inmate supplies, and equipment within the jail area.
- Conducts regular maintenance inspections of Corrections vehicles and ensures that necessary equipment is in each vehicle. Completes a written record of all inspections.
- Provides traffic control, upon request, to assist the Patrol and Traffic Divisions when authorized by the Lieutenant, in support of special events.
- Provides backup support to ASA in entering, quashing, recalling, cancelling and second party verification of warrants.

Job Summary
Seasonal Rangers provide customer service throughout the City of Kirkland's park system with a focus on our waterfront parks during the busy summer season. Seasonal Rangers provide education and information regarding park rules and regulations, ensure the payment of moorage fees and enforce the rules of the City of Kirkland harbors, respond to reports of off-leash dogs or other safety concerns, open and close parks, pick up litter, update signage, collect garbage, and restock, clean, and sanitize picnic shelters and restrooms in partnership with the greater Parks Management division.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Public relations and customer service to community members using the park and visiting the Harbors.
- Enforce moorage payment is made in a timely manner and follow up with boater's in non-compliance.
- Maintain daily moorage and incident logs.
- Manage reserved areas of the Harbors for boaters and tour ships and ensure areas are open for those who have made proper arrangements.
- Enforcement of park rules, harbor rules, moorage regulations and other laws and regulations pertaining to the site.
- Provide support and education to community members using the parks.
- The Park Ranger will have a limited commission to issue warning and violation notices for parks rules.

Job Summary
Seasonal Parks Laborers perform general labor tasks as assigned to contribute to the development and maintenance of City public grounds and moorage facility.
Each Laborer works as part of a team to conduct routine maintenance and park development which includes cleaning restrooms, picnic shelters, and other City facilities as well as opening and closing parks daily, addressing customer concerns as they arise, collecting garbage, and picking up litter. Depending on the team of assignment, the Seasonal Laborers perform their work under supervision to maintain park landscaping, turf, sport fields, trees, boardwalks, buildings, equipment, and natural areas undergoing habitat restoration. Please note the specific tasks listed below.
All Laborers positions will operate vehicles, equipment, and a variety of hand and small power tools as required to complete their assigned tasks.
Essential Duties
- Hand mows spaces not accessible by tractor-mowers.
- Trims grass and cuts weeds with an edger or weed eater.
- Raking leaves, spreading sand and soil, installing park benches and cleaning the docks.
- Waters vegetation on City facility grounds.
- Remove debris with mechanical blower.
- Makes garbage runs at City facilities. This includes emptying garbage cans, picking up litter and debris.
- Landscape installation to include planting, weeding and bed maintenance.

The City of Renton is hiring part-time Recreation Leaders (Levels 1, 2, and 3) to support our Youth Sports Programs in multiple areas. Key responsibilities include implementing and overseeing programs and events, delivering excellent customer service to participants and their families, maintaining facilities and supplies, and sports program instruction and assisting participants. Recreation Leaders will also handle site supervision, program setup, upkeep, and provide first aid as needed. What you'll do:
- Lead your own project start to finish to contribute in cutting-edge research in machine learning and artificial intelligence that can be applied to Pinterest problems
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data and build intelligent data-driven models
- Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code
- Use machine learning, natural language processing, and graph analysis to solve modeling and ranking problems across discovery, ads and search
- Scope and independently solve moderately complex problems
- Demonstrate accountability for the quality and completion of your tasks and projects, collaborating with your team and seeking guidance as needed.
What we're looking for:
- Working towards a PhD in Computer Science, ML, NLP, Statistics, Information Sciences or related field
- Proficiency in at least one systems language (Java, C++, Python) or one ML framework (Tensorflow, Pytorch, MLFlow)
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop/Spark) and scalable realtime systems that process stream data
- Experience in research and in solving analytical problems
- Strong communicator and team player with the ability to find solutions for open-ended problems.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Publications in machine learning, AI, data science, data analytics, statistics, or related technical fields
- Interest in research and in applying ML to impactful real-world problems on the Pinterest product

Note: This role is a Temporary opportunity with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2027. The anticipated end date is subject to departmental and budgetary considerations.
The Crisis Responder II position will reside in the Regional Crisis Response (RCR) Agency and report directly to the Crisis Responder Supervisor. The Crisis Responder II serves on a team of other citywide community responders as part of the RCR Agency, which provides a consolidated and standardized mobile crisis response program operating throughout the jurisdictions served. The RCR Agency is an inclusive organization that endeavors to build a work culture which embraces diversity, encourages participation, and promotes equity.
Crisis Responders use evidence-based practice that promotes well-being through assessment, brief intervention, referral to services, and prevention. Crisis Responders incorporate knowledge of human behavior, sociology, psychiatry, psychology, and many other social science disciplines using advocacy, compassion and de-escalation and crisis intervention skills to support those with unmet needs in a culturally responsive manner. They work as a team, and collaborate with other local, regional, state and federal programs to identify gaps in existing resources for community members. The primary focus of work is crisis intervention, resource referral, and follow-up; this work is conducted in community settings such as health care organizations, businesses, homes, public spaces and at social service agencies.
Distinguishing Characteristics: The Crisis Responder II is the journey-level position within the Crisis Responder job series. This classification is reserved for those who hold an independent clinical practice license from the State of Washington Department of Health. An employee in the Crisis Responder I will move to the Crisis Responder II classification when they are able to demonstrate that they have become independently licensed by the Washington State Department of Health.

- Respond to 911 calls for service in the community, both within a team or independently:
- Conduct ongoing biopsychosocial assessments of community members:

- Follow-up with community members periodically to ensure a warm hand-off to the appropriate resource(s) or services
- Periodically re-evaluate efficacy of the resource(s) or services, and determine need for additional or alternate services
- Thoroughly document all encounters in accordance with policy and professional standards
- Conduct ongoing biopsychosocial assessments of community members:
- Conduct home visits based on referrals from other responders and community service professionals
- Provide appropriate level of support to community members during particularly vulnerable transitional times, such as post-hospitalization discharge to home or to alternate points of care
- Provide community member and/or caregiver/family education on alternative care strategies and resources
- Complete all mandatory training in a timely fashion such as clinical competency, culturally relevant practices, use of appropriate technologies, customer service, and any other assigned program and Department training
Peripheral Duties:
- Performs functions as assigned in the City's emergency response plan in the event of an emergency.
- Promote public health and wellness by coordinating and participating in community-wide events, health fairs, volunteer fairs, and activities
- Participate in the development of the Crisis Responder Program's performance metrics, tracking, and referrals.
- Provide or coordinate training for Fire, Police and City Staff on social services or program updates and advancements.
- Represent the Crisis Responder Program on regional related work groups or committees when requested.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Master's Degree in social work, sociology, psychology, human development or other related field.
- Experience: 1 year of paid experience in a health care setting, including public health or behavioral health.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
- Must be a licensed independent social worker, mental health counselor, or marriage and family therapist as defined by WAC 246-8
- Valid Washington State Driver's License, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Prefer American Safety Health Institute (ASHI) Healthcare provider CPR/AED/first aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to conduct suicide/homicide risk assessments and safety planning, or the ability to obtain training within 90 days of hire.
- Paid experience working with older adults and/or adults with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Prefer two or more years of demonstrated experience working with housing and/or homeless issues.
- Paid experience working with Limited English Proficiency individuals and communities is desirable.
- Crisis intervention training and/or experience is desirable.

Pay Transparency
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is,
$69,000.00 - $117,530.00This reflects base salary.
This position is subject to incentive compensation, where the expected pre-tax Target Cash Opportunity ("TCO") for this position is based on the achieved sales and in the amount/range of,
$98,600.00 - $167,900.00Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and eligible geographic location.
TCO is defined as Base Salary + Target Sales Incentive (Sales Incentive eligible role only).
