Job Purpose and Scope

The Merchandise Assistant, Kitchen & Travel is a highly organized and motivated individual who supports the Buyer and Assistant Buyers in the execution of the merchandising strategy for both branded and private label assortments. This role assists with reporting, item and purchase order maintenance, vendor communication, and administrative support to ensure the team can effectively manage inventory productivity and vendor performance.

The Merchandise Assistant plays a key role in maintaining accurate data, monitoring business performance, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the department. This is a developmental role designed to prepare individuals for advancement to an Assistant Buyer position.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist Buyer and Assistant Buyers in monitoring business performance through sales reporting, inventory analysis, and vendor performance tracking.

• Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports including best and worst sellers, vendor productivity, and aged inventory.

• Assist in monitoring industry trends, competitive activity, and product performance to support merchandising strategies.

• Set up new items and maintain existing item information within internal systems.

• Enter and maintain purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.

• Track purchase orders and shipments, assisting in troubleshooting delays or discrepancies with vendors and internal partners.

• Assist with price maintenance and ensure permanent price changes are communicated and completed by stores.

• Support markdown execution and inventory management by providing data and reports as requested by the buying team.

• Execute vendor returns as negotiated and assist with documentation and processing.

• Identify and assist in resolving inventory or data integrity issues.

• Maintain professional communication with vendors, stores, and internal departments.

• Provide administrative support including meeting preparation, document organization, and general office tasks as needed.

As a Forklift Tire Technician, you will give input for customer service and operational improvement. You will continuously improve the knowledge of our products and services and assume full ownership of the position function, with understanding of the role in relation to the success of the Service Center.

• In-house and onsite installation of forklift and other material handling tires using a hydraulic tire press.
• Dismount, mount tires, and service the customer product as specified by the customer order.
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure cleanliness of all equipment including service vehicles.
• Report to the Service Manager immediately any material that does not meet quality standards, equipment that requires maintenance, delays at customer sites, potential issues with customer equipment before servicing, accidents or concerns about safety or other potential hazards.
• Job requires regular bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching movements, and standing for prolonged periods.

The Associate Chief Of Staff will work alongside Bernhard's Chief Development Officer who is actively involved in driving strategy and business development. Business Development:

• Support CDO in development of commercial opportunities with current and prospective EaaS customers including hospital systems and universities.
• Responsibilities include the preparation and review of presentation materials, participating in meetings with prospects, leading related analysis and market research, as well as the review of transaction-related financial models, energy models, contracts and legal documents, feasibility assessments, and other items.

Cross-functional:

• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize the CDO's efficiency and reach across the organization.

General Management:

It is our goal for every driver residing within 50 miles of Memphis, Houston, or Dallas to get at least a 34-hour weekly restart. Drivers residing in all other areas are out for 12 days, home 3 days. Our drivers can earn some of the highest take-home pay in the business. And to help keep your pay more consistent, we'll pay the portion of miles you've run right up to the payroll cut-off time. GENERAL SUMMARY:

Company-Drivers are responsible for on time delivery of freight between Dollar General Distribution Centers, stores, and vendors. Responsible for hauling and unloading multi-stop freight to Dollar General Stores and also returning freight (as required) and rolltainers to the Distribution Center. Responsible for safely operating the vehicle and transporting all freight, which includes interstate and intrastate deliveries.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* Transport store-delivery freight as well as store returns and backhauls over-the-road in a safe, efficient, and timely manner adhering to all Dollar General policies and state and federal regulations. 40%

* Unload and reload freight and rolltainers at each delivery in a safe and efficient manner. 30%

* This includes:

* Rolling rolltainers off the trailer onto a lift gate and placing them into the backroom of the store;

* Unloading individual boxes and/or totes as required and placing them in the backroom of the store;

* Reloading return rolltainers and product onto the trailer and returning these items to the Distribution Center; and

* Safely securing all freight and rolltainers at each stop before sealing the trailer.

* Provide professional customer service to all parties including store teams, backhaul vendors, and distribution employees. 10%

* Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations. 10%

* Ensure operation of the vehicle is in compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations. 10%

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

* Available for routine overnight travel for extended periods of time

* Available to work any day of the week (Monday - Sunday)

* Ability to squat, crouch and reach as needed to handle freight

* Ability to enter and exit the vehicle's cab numerous times each day

* Ability to push and pull rolltainers weighing between 600 - 1,200 pounds

* Ability to access and manually release fifth wheel lever and tandem pins, which requires horizontal pulling with a force of 100 pounds at a height of 44 inches and pulling with a force of 100 pounds at a height of 38 inches

* Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move freight weighing up to 50 pounds

* Ability to install and remove tire chains, hook and unhook trailers, and secure freight

* Ability to work in severe weather conditions-both heat and cold

* May be exposed to extreme heat and cold, including dry van trailers or refrigerator freezers and coolers for extended periods of time

Qualifications

WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred

* Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

* Six months previous tractor/trailer driving experience

* Knowledge of all applicable Department of Transportation (\"DOT\") Regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

* Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT, including any drug/alcohol test
