The Role
We are seekingย exceptional part-time faculty membersย in Mathematics, with a particular focus at this time on Grades 1-5. Classes are scheduled to run Monday 5pm-7pm in April-June 2026 and Tuesday and Wednesday 5pm-9pm September 2026-June 2027.
This is not a typical teaching role. At Brain Power, you will leadย seminar-style classesย of 6โ12 highly motivated, gifted students. Our pedagogy is rooted inย Socratic dialogueโteachers guide students through rigorous discussions, probing questions, and challenging ideas that inspire critical thinking, creativity, and leadership.
All materials are provided, developed and tested over decades of practice. Yet we know the true magic happens when faculty bring their ownย creativity, intellectual flair, and research interestsย into the classroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the COO, the Executive Assistant serves as a key point of contact for internal and external constituencies on matters pertaining to the executive team as well as provides administrative and coordination for the implementation of key organizational programs and initiatives.ย ย
The Executive Assistant will be creative and enjoy working in a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-focused, results-driven and community-oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and have strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and project coordination skills. They must also have the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Executive Supportย
- Responsible for a variety of high-level administrative tasks for the CEO and COO including managing dynamic calendars; arranging travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence that may contain confidential information; and, compiling/creating documents for travel-related meetings.ย
- Organize and coordinate executive outreach and external relations efforts: follow up on contacts made by leadership, and research, prioritize, and address incoming issues and concerns addressed to the CEO and COO and determine appropriate course of action, referral, or response.ย
- Serve as administrative liaison to the New York City Charter School Centerโs Board of Directors, assisting with the coordination of quarterly Board meetings, including preparing and distributing Board materials. Maintain and ensure compliance with by-laws and applicable nonprofit regulations.
- Support fundraising and development efforts by managing a reporting calendar, conducting research, and compiling reports for grant applications and funder requirements.
Departmental Liaison & Support
- In partnership with the COO, coordinate with the Charter Centerโs various department leads (Communications & Media, School Supports, Collaborative for Inclusive Education, Policy & Advocacy, etc.) to provide administrative leadership on projects integral to the work of the Charter Center. Tasks to include everything from data entry and management to developing programmatic materials and presentations, et al.
- Aid the administration of the main office by providing customer support, assisting with event planning and coordination, and other general administrative tasks as requested.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive, property-wide training strategy aligned with operational goals and service standards
- Develop and maintain structured onboarding programs, including role-specific and phased training plans for new hires
- Create, update, and oversee department- and position-specific training curricula across all operational areas
- Deliver and facilitate service standards training, leadership development programs, and operational skill-building initiatives
- Ensure training programs consistently reinforce luxury hospitality service expectations and guest experience standards
- Partner with department leaders to identify performance gaps and implement targeted training solutions
- Manage and administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including course assignments, completion tracking, and reporting

Develops and understands appropriate life insurance strategies based on individual member needs. Provides intermediate protection planning advice, including insurance protection, estate planning and enhanced solutions like long term care products.
Recommends relevant life insurance product and solutions and refers members who may need financial advice to the respective department.
Motivates member to take action on recommendation(s) and resolves objections using intermediate sales techniques and intermediate persuasion skills. Implements recommendation(s).
Monitors legislative initiatives that may impact economy, society, and personal financial situation.
Educates membership on implications of economic, industry trends and tax law changes, as well as USAA's
products and services.
May conduct outbound follow-up calls to complete member acquisition of products and services previously discussed.
Serves as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.
Guides and influences less experienced team members.
Work Hours:
Monday โ Friday / 6:30am โ 6:00pm (MST)
An 8 hour shift will fall within these hours
This role is required to be in office, with potential hybrid opportunity after 6 months.
What you have:
High School diploma or GED
Required maintenance of Life/Health license
Required annual completion of AHIP and Broker/Carrier appointments when applicable.
2 years of financial industry and/or life sales experience
Experience delivering frequent written and oral communication
Experience acquiring and applying new concepts and information
Experience processing and analyzing information
Experience fulfilling requests and meeting deadlines
Experience resolving conflict and negotiating
Experience multi-tasking in an operating systems environment
Experience participating in or leading teams
Successful completion of a job-related assessment may be required
What sets you apart:
4+ years experience working in Sales with life insurance
1+ years experience working in a call center environment
CLUยฎ - Chartered Life Underwriter or comparable designation
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $62,470.00 - $105,420.00.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
