Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • New Grads accepted- must pass NCLEX within 90 days of graduation date

The Float Pool at Hartford Hospital, also known as the STAR Team, is comprised of experienced, highly skilled Nursing professionals. Our team is broken down into two groups, Med/Surg and Critical Care. The Med/Surg team floats between approximately 18 units (including the Step Down units) while our Critical Care RNs primarily float between the six ICUs at Hartford Hospital (MICU, SICU, Cardiac ICU, Neuro ICU and Cardiothoracic ICU). Our RNs rely on extensive nursing skills, strong communication and collaboration skills to assimilate seamlessly into different units and provide the highest levels of personalized, compassionate care to our patients.

Job Description:


Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space.   • Completion of basic fetal monitoring class by the end of orientation. Electronic Fetal Monitoring National certification (NCC) within two (2) years of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.
  • Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC or RN-BC) preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have certification in ACLS, and NRP upon hire or receive both certifications within a year after hire date and maintain clinical competency during employment with ECHN in this role.

  • Must have Electric Fetal Monitoring Certification within a year after hire date.
