Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 500+ provider multi-specialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for a Fellowship trained, Board Certified or Board Eligible Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join a well-established practice located in Boise, Idaho.


The selected candidate will join two MFM physicians, one genetic counselor and five Sonographers at the practice in Boise and will also cover Nampa. Labor and Delivery (L&D) rounds are multidisciplinary in nature and attended by MFM, OB Hospitalists, L&D Unit Coordinator, L&D Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Nurses, Pharmacists, Social Worker, Case Manager and often both Nursing and Pharmacy students.


The schedule is a typical workweek, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm with 32 patient facing hours per week. The call schedule is consultative call including weekends, 1:2 or 1:3, or equally shared among the provider group. There are no in-house calls or deliveries.


Support includes a Level III+ NICU that provides 24-hour comprehensive specialty care for premature and high-risk infants delivered at SARMC or transported to SARMC NICU, as well as the sickest of full-term infants. On-site Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Gastroenterology, 24-hour Anesthesia, Radiology and Emergency Medicine coverage. On-campus OB/GYN clinic with 20 providers and a community network of employed and allied primary & specialty care clinics. We use View Point Perinatal Ultrasound Reporting System and EPIC EMR.


Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA OBGYN Residency and Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship
  • Board Certification, or obtain certification within 3 years of employment
  • Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC-Boise and SAMC-Nampa
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA

Well-established neurology outpatient clinic and inpatient neuroscience program anchored with Fellowship trained Neuro Critical Care located in Boise, third party tele-stroke services staffed by vascular neurologists to be transitioned to inpatient neuro critical care July 2024, stroke coordinators, employed interventional neuroradiology service of Radiologist and Endovascular Neurosurgeons providing emergency time sensitive and elective interventions to include: biplane angiography, MRI/ MRA, CT/CTA, CT perfusion, 4-vessel angiography, and interventional stroke and aneurysm procedures.


The schedule for this full-time opportunity is a traditional workweek, Monday – Friday, (including 1 administrative day) with a minimum of 32 hours of ambulatory clinic patient contact time. No hospital consults or weekend rounding. After hours call shared equally with other neurologists. Call coverage is for established outpatients only; there is no hospital call, ICU call, stroke call, or EEG call. Acute stroke is covered by the inpatient neurology team.


Requirements for this opportunity include:

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 650+ provider multispecialty group practice that seeks a full-time board certified or board eligible Interventional Radiologist to join its recently established Interventional Radiology specialty practice primarily in Boise, Idaho. Saint Alphonsus is the principal provider of advanced, innovative and interventional services, and is the only Regional Level II Trauma Center at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC). This is a traditional work week schedule plus call and hospital responsibilities that include evenings and weekends. Clinic, IR, and call responsibilities. The call requirement is shared equally with members of the Interventional Radiology Department.


As the regional provider of advanced interventional radiology services, Saint Alphonsus Interventional Radiologists will have the opportunity to work with other Interventional Radiologists and Radiology APPs to provide care for patients with complex conditions by incorporating advanced imaging modalities with minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat a wide variety of diseases.


Saint Alphonsus has a well-established interventional radiology service that includes biplane angiography, MRI MRA, CT/CTA, CT perfusion, 4- vessel angiography, and provides an opportunity for Interventional Radiologists to perform embolization, thrombectomy, venous access, TIPS, aortic dissection, peripheral arterial disease, biopsies, ablations, stent placements, and others based on training and community need.


Interventional Radiologists will work primarily at the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (Level II Trauma Center). Weekday procedures are also provided at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Nampa, with limited coverage obligations at Saint Alphonsus Medical Centers in Ontario and Baker City, Oregon.


When fully staffed the Interventional Radiology provider team includes four (4) Interventional Radiologists, and five (5) Advanced Practice Providers trained in support of the Interventional Radiology practice. Hospital Call is split between Radiologists and APPs to minimize call burden and after-hours support requirements. Primary call location is in Boise at SARMC; with Radiologists responsible for Weeknight and Weekend Interventional Call at SARMC, and APPs covering weekend days in Boise and Nampa for non-invasive IR support.


Support:

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise currently has 44 critical care beds including a 22-bed Trauma Neurosurgery, Stroke and Medical ICU, a 10 bed CVICU, and 10 bed CICU.


Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA residency program in Radiology
  • Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship in Interventional Radiology

The oncology hospitalist works closely with the ambulatory medical oncologists within the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute. Anchored with locations in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, and Ontario and telemedicine opportunities through the region, the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Institute is a full-spectrum practice, is QOPI certified, and CoC accredited, offering rewarding opportunities including over 100 clinical trials. The integrated program also has leading surgical expertise with the State’s only fellowship-trained surgical oncologist along with other highly specialized, fellowship-trained physicians to support a growing program.


Support: Dedicated 10-bed inpatient unit at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is supported currently by one other oncology hospitalist and two full-time APPs. Collaboration and support from full-service cancer center with medical, radiation, and surgical oncology offers integrative care team support with advanced practice providers, nurse navigators, social work support, genetics counseling, and nutritionist. Weekly tumor boards provide opportunity to collaborate with our fellowship trained surgeons in breast, plastic/reconstruction, GYN oncology, colorectal, neurosurgery, thoracic and esophageal specialties. Innovative programs include lung cancer screening, lung nodule clinic, neuro oncology, and robust clinical trials through the Montana Cancer Consortium. Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 650+ provider multispecialty group seeking a full time Interventional Cardiologist to be part of a 13-member cardiology group practice in Boise: 5 Interventional Cardiologists, 5 Invasive Cardiologists and 3 Electrophysiologists. Additionally, there is also a robust group of IP and OP APP’s that provide support. The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute includes the regions only Women’s Cardiology Program, Cardio-Oncology, 3 cath labs with peripheral capabilities, a 22 bed cath/EP prep & recovery unit, cardiac nuclear medicine, vascular ultrasound, echo, and EKG diagnostics. Procedures performed include: Diagnostic Adult Cardiac Catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions, Balloon Angioplasty, Coronary and Vascular Stent Placements, Permanent Pacemakers, ICD’s, multiple ablations, Coronary Thrombectomy, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Peripheral Vascular Angiography, Peripheral Vascular Interventions, Intravascular Ultrasound, Intracardiac Ultrasound, Cardioversion and Tilt Table Studies. The Boise practice is part of a larger, employed and integrated 18-member Cardiology team reaching across the health system from Boise to Baker City Oregon. Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute is also the only program in the region to be Chest Pain Accredited through the American College of Cardiology. Saint Alphonsus Cardiology also holds Idaho Time Sensitive Emergency designation for STEMI, Stroke and Trauma.


The schedule for this opportunity is M-F with mutual flexibility. Located at Boise Hospital (main campus) with outreach to clinics 1-2 times per month & affiliated telemedicine network facilities. Call is shared equally among 5 providers.


Support: Cardiac MRI and CT Angiography, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Trauma, Neurosurgery and a large group of Hospitalists and Intensivists. SAMG has a network of 74 primary and specialty care clinic locations. E.D. The cardiac cath lab is a staffed with board-certified cardiologists, registered nurses, radiology techs and cardiovascular technologists.


Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
  • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship program.
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology - or obtain certifications within 3 years of employment.
  • Unrestricted full license in Idaho and Oregon to practice medicine in all its phases Β· Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SAMC- Nampa, SARMC - Boise and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed; valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
  • Secure appropriate hospital medical staff privileges to include Stents, IVUS, Interventional left and right heart catheterizations, electrocardiograms, holter and echocardiogram interpretation, stress treadmill testing & supervision, stress echos, and pacemaker implantations and checks. Nuclear cardiology skills are welcome but not required. Echo board certification is also not a requirement. Interventional treatment of peripheral vascular disease is also available.

As the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neurologists provide care for patients with complex conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, seizures, and general neurological disease. The Saint Alphonsus Neuroscience Institute promotes collaboration with a team of general neurosurgeons, vascular neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, vascular neurologists, physiatrists, neuro-ophthalmologist and radiation oncologists. Diagnostic and patient care services available to neurologists include EMG capability in the clinic, EEG with web-based interpretation, OCT, and Botox injections.

Join a 20-physician cardiovascular group practice integrated within Saint Alphonsus Health System delivering care to the region, including telemedicine and outreach opportunities. The Saint Alphonsus Heart Institute is an outstanding comprehensive cardiovascular program with many differentiating services including an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center, a Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program, a CVOR that operated on over 400 patients last year, a growing CV Research program, dedicated Heart Failure Program, advanced EP lab with Pulsed Field Ablation, a robust structural heart program (TAVR, mTEER, tTEER, Watchman, PFO/ASD), and a dedicated prevention and lifestyle management clinic. Cardiologists and CT Surgeons participate with hospital administration in co-managing the cardiovascular service line.


Support includes: 21 APPs; 3 CT Surgeons; 4 Vascular Surgeons; Cardiac ICU; CVOR, CVICU and step-down unit; 74 SAMG primary and specialty clinic locations; Saint Alphonsus Health Alliance network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers; Level II Trauma Center & ED.

The clinic has traditional Monday – Friday hours. The selected candidate will work primarily at the main campus in Boise with outreach clinics one to two times per month. Call is shared equitably among physicians: general call (primary) is 1:7 (Boise hospital Only); Interventional call (back-up) is 1:5.


Nuclear cardiology skills are preferred but not required. Echo board certification is also preferred but not a requirement of the position. Cardiac Catheterization skills are not required.
