About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to support a leading energy technology company in negotiating and managing contracts for advanced energy projects. This role will focus on complex agreements that underpin large-scale deployments supplying hyperscaler data center infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) agreements, Interconnection Agreements (IAs), and technology contracts.
- Advise on construction, procurement, and commercial matters across multi-national and domestic projects.
- Guide the business on regulatory compliance, including trade sanctions, export control regulations (ITAR, EAR), and energy/environmental permitting in the U.S. and abroad.
- Support internal stakeholders on intellectual property, software licensing (SaaS), vendor agreements, and other commercial transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and manage legal risks while facilitating business objectives.
- Assist with employment-related matters, including agreements, policies, and internal investigations as needed.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership required.
- 5+ years of in-house or law firm experience in energy, infrastructure, or technology projects, preferably with exposure to PPAs, EPCs, or interconnection agreements.
- Strong commercial contract negotiation skills, including handling complex multi-party agreements.
- Knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory frameworks, export controls, trade sanctions, and permitting processes.
- Experience in technology contracts, IP licensing, SaaS agreements, and commercial agreements strongly preferred.

Full-time legal assistant: A small environmental law firm that represents non-profit organizations, local governmental entities, community groups, and individuals is looking for a full-time legal assistant. This position requires independent and collaborative work related to litigation before state and federal administrative agencies, local governments, and within the court system.
Responsibilities:
- The Legal Assistant will be expected to develop a strong knowledge of the firm's current cases.
- The Assistant will help develop technical and factual information (often, under deadlines), handle information requests from clients, interact with various governmental entities, and help coordinate office tasks to get these jobs done.
Additional duties include:

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Engages in analysis and strategic planning to facilitate the pricing, client service and client retention process. Makes recommendations, develops pricing structures and communication plans, monitors active clients and budgets and reports on results.
- Supports partners, business development managers and RFP team in the US and international teams with pricing matters by providing analysis, strategy, advice, AFAs and presentations for RFP responses.
- Works with and supports partners, the Director of Pricing and Value to implement and measure client and matter management programs.
- Assists with scoping, budgeting and monitoring of matters, after-action review and advice. Develops and provides client and matter monitoring and other reporting.
- Supports client growth through client account management, including finalizing client agreements, working with Pricing & Value to advise on pricing and service models, identifying challenges impacting billing/collections and coordinating client evaluation and feedback.
- Works with the Director of Pricing and Value to assist in reaching their outside counsel management goals and objectives.
- Participates in the management, maintenance and development of Iridium and any successive productivity, matter planning and profitability software. Conducts training of partners and staff on the use of Iridium and provides follow-up user support.
- Takes initiative to develop custom reporting solutions to address unique needs of partners, clients and other Firm staff.
- Utilizes client, industry and peer survey data to make recommendations and engage in the Firm’s annual rate setting project.
- Participates in special projects and initiatives, as defined by the Director of Pricing and Value. Identifies and suggests improvements to existing processes and implements approved changes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Job Title: Insurance Defense Attorney
100% REMOTE IN CALIFORNIA
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Handle case analysis, strategy development, and client reporting.
- Represent clients in court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure top-tier legal services.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the California Bar.
- Good years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation.
- Demonstrated experience in handling personal injury or other complex litigation matters.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $180,000 – $200,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
