Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants Role Scope:

The Forensic Structural Engineer will branch out from typical design work and investigate to determine the cause of failures related to building structures. This role consists of very little to near no design aspects. The focus is on the laws of physics, and the basis of engineering principles, and the correct application of these to the built environment. JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse utilizes psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing skills as a direct client care provider and is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. The RN works under the direction of the Nurse Manager and/or the RN Designee and is responsible for the delivery of direct client care to clients individually, in groups and in the milieu. The RN is a role model for other staff members and is a leader in teaching other staff, in program development, in guiding group decision making, in developing and implementing treatment plans and improving the quality of care. The Colleague Health Services Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of the customer focused, clinical programs of Colleague Health Services which promote the health and safety of all Hartford HealthCare colleagues. Ensuring regulatory compliance with OSHA Standards, CDC Guidelines, and applicable federal/state guidance for healthcare workers. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:
- Implements health promotion programs and illness/injury prevention programs to prevent occupational injury and health problems. Programs include: universal vaccination, respiratory protection, tuberculosis surveillance, blood borne pathogens, hearing conservation and environmental safety.
- Ensures timely medical clearance for all new colleagues by monitoring pre-employment examinations as well as determines medical clearance status for some colleagues.
- Completes appropriate documentation in electronic health records and other associated programs based on OSHA Standards, CDC Guidelines, and applicable federal/state guidance for healthcare workers.
- Participates in the development and implementation of new programs to support Colleague Health Services
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school
Experience:
- 3-5 years Nursing experience
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, CDC guidelines, infectious disease and worker safety program requirements for a healthcare setting strongly preferred

Job Description:
Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The Ridge Recovery Center is a new state-of-the-art substance use disorder treatment facility in Windham, CT. The Ridge Recovery Center offers personalized paths to recovery in a serene and tranquil setting. The Registered Nurse will work with and assist other professional, clinical, and medical staff in providing day-to-day direct care to individuals with substance use disorders. Some of the duties and responsibilities for this position include: assessing client’s conditions, administering medications, managing withdrawal symptoms, providing direct nursing care and education to clients in regard to their health, wellness and recovery. On Shea, our team of professionals provides skilled, compassionate care to our patients in a specialized, multi-level, inpatient unit. Our main 30-bed medical-surgical and telemetry unit is the core of our department with additional beds for step-down/PCU and orthopedic patients. We are a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team who are proud to serve our community.
Position Summary: A Registered Nurse who through knowledge and ability utilizes the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes activities to meet the physical, psych-social, spiritual, cultural, educational and development needs.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: Working knowledge of nursing process and customer service principles. National certification in specialty preferred. Acute care hospital experience preferred. IV skill preferred. Secondary language skills preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Medical Surgical units and PCU: Current BLS certification. Currently certified in ACLS or completion within 3 month of employment. PCU training required after 6 months of hire for new graduates; and 3 months of hire for experienced RN's, or successful completion of BKAT. NNR required for OB.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess current CT RN licensure or in the process of obtaining the same and be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
