Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on mechanical design and development. The role involves reviewing and evaluating designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards, and providing tangible feedback to improve product quality. You will also review competitor products and report on components such as hinges, materials used, type of design, thermal constraints, subsystem design, and manufacturability. Additionally, you will provide domain-specific expertise and overall mechanical/thermal leadership to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities, and determine the complete mechanical and thermal BOM assembly list for PCs, including laptops, desktops, and docks.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and electronics.
- Experience with hardware and PCB design and teardown.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in CREO.
- Experience in electronics packaging and BOM analysis of equipment, PCB design, board layout, and knowledge of PC, laptop, desktop, and notebook design.

Addresses the technical content of purchase orders to ensure they contain accurate technical and commercial terms.
Coordinates internal resources to ensure Requests For Information are promptly resolved.
Develops commissioning plans, closes projects and ensures accurate documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory requirements.
Provides technical expertise and recommendations during project standards reviews.

Education/Years of Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering and minimum five (5) years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry including two (2) years in a similar project engineering role (in asset integrity, cathodic protection or corrosion mitigation).
Other Requirements: Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills.
Advanced knowledge of the engineering workflow and Project Life Cycle processes.
Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to an engineering field.
Intermediate knowledge of other engineering subject areas design guides and standards.
Demonstrated ability in interpreting engineering deliverable content as assigned.
Proficiency with construction & constructability practices relevant to integrity maintenance remediation.
Strong understanding of processes and procedures for project controls and estimating.
Strong understanding of industry accepted repairs for integrity maintenance projects.
Strong understanding of PHMSA regulations code 192 and 195 with relation to integrity maintenance program management.

Conduct quality system, product, and process audits at supplier sites; verify compliance with QMS requirements, procedures, and applicable industry standards.

Preferred Experience: 5+ years of experience in designing low-voltage and high-voltage electrical and instrumentation systems in accordance with industry standards per the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), etc.
10+ years of experience in designing electrical wiring diagrams for electrical instrument and control systems for petrochemical or pharmaceutical processes 10+ years of experience in specifying, selecting, configuring and testing low-voltage and high-voltage electrical equipment/instruments for petrochemical or pharmaceutical processes 5+ years of experience in designing and testing electrical circuits for motors, air compressors, pumps, heaters, solenoid valves, proportional valves, mass flow controllers, gas analyzers, etc.
Prior experience in selecting, and testing Industrial PLCs, and the associated IO and field BUS modules Prior experience in configuring PLC IO modules, testing and troubleshooting PLC based electrical and control systems.
Working knowledge of SCADA system and common field bus communication protocols (CANBUS, J1939, PROFINET, EtherCAT, ModBus, etc.).
Demonstration of strong work history with the ability to work autonomously and independently on projects with variety of complexity Demonstrated initiative, independent decision-making ability and skills in developing technical recommendations/solutions.
