Job Summary:

The Senior Design Drafter will be responsible for developing detailed engineering drawings and 3D models to support the design and manufacturing of advanced mechanical systems. This role requires extensive experience in drafting within a manufacturing environment, strong CAD expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program management teams to define design, drawing, and fabrication requirements

Lead the development of product layouts and detailed drawings, ensuring proper proportions, component arrangements, and dimensional accuracy

Create and finalize 3D models and detailed drawings independently or in collaboration with design teams

Utilize CAD systems to develop layouts, perform clearance checks, and provide manufacturing-ready documentation for CAM processes

Support engineering, sales, and program teams with proposal drawings and technical documentation

Organize and plan drafting requirements, ensuring all necessary drawings are complete and accurate

Review and validate detail drawings for compliance with standards and project specifications

Coordinate drafting activities and support project timelines, occasionally guiding junior drafting staff

Participate in design reviews and provide input on workload estimates and technical feasibility

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Mechanical Technology or a related field

20+ years of drafting or design experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of drafting practices, dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing (GD&T)

Proficiency in mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM systems

Understanding of machine shop practices, fabrication methods, and material properties

Knowledge of mechanical design principles including kinematics, stress, and thermal effects

Key Skills:

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities:

• Communicating with all functional disciplines to discuss design, drawing or fabrication requirements.
• Leading the graphical evolution of new products from layout to drawings including correctness of proportion, arrangement of internal components, necessary dimensional information and material and/or process suggestions.
• Producing final drawings or 3D/Solid models independently or in conjunction with others.
• Utilizing the Computer Aided Design (CAD) System to produce a variety of drawings and layouts to enable better visualization, clearance checks, and provide manufacturing information for Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) operations.
• Support Engineering, Sales, and Program Management for bid and proposal efforts by providing layouts and assemblies in an expedient manner including collecting all Drafting submittal data into a complete package ready for transmittal to the customer.
• Organizing and planning of the number and types of drawings required to represent the design, exercising technical cognizance over Drafting personnel when assigned, checking detail drawings for completeness and accuracy and general follow through on product design.
• Coordinating of project(s) and must be sensitive to schedule requirements, sometimes directing others in this effort.
• Participating in status review meetings and provide estimates on level of effort.

Requirements:

• 20+ years of drafting/design experience in a manufacturing environment
• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of good drafting practices and techniques, machine shop practices, part fabrication methods, mathematics through descriptive geometry, dimensioning techniques, and geometric tolerancing
• Strong knowledge of mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools is required. Proficiency with Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter PLM is preferred
• Possess above average design skills, strong creative and investigative skills, and be well structured and organized
• Familiarization of basic properties and strength of materials as well as stress and thermal effects is also required
• Strong understanding of mechanical hardware design for kinematic mechanisms and packaging them in customer defined envelopes

Education:

• Associates Mechanical Technology or relevant major is required

PetSmart’s Professional Bather is responsible for engaging with pet parents and their pets while providing positive experiences, salon specific services and upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role also shares responsibility of store cleanliness, recommending of solutions for pet parents, and pet safety standards.  

Essential Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following and may vary depending on store characteristics and needs: 

• Successful completion of PetSmart’s Splash training and safety certification program. 
• Responsible for the pet parent experience and outcomes conducted in person, over the phone and at the sales register. 
• Greets pet parents, answers their questions and assists with making reservations in the salon. 
• Responsible for check-in and check-out procedures. 
• Independently performs full menu of bath and brush services and standalone services, such as nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary services, as well as standalone services for cats*, in accordance with PetSmart’s bathing standards and procedures. 
• Shares additional health and wellness solutions with pet parents based on pet’s needs. 
• Ensures a safe environment for our associates, pets, and pet parents. 
• Responsible for taking immediate action when a sick/injured pet is identified in the store; transport to the vet as needed. 
• Recommends, informs, and sells merchandise and services.
