A growing metal fabrication company based in Newburgh, NY is seeking a full-time employee to fill the position of Controller. The applicant will serve as the financial leader for MetalWyze, responsible for the accuracy of our financial reporting and the strategic forecasting required to guide business growth. This is a hands-on leadership role; you will oversee the daily accounting operations, manage the AR/AP specialists, and utilize our ERP system to provide critical insights into margins, cash flow, and inventory costs.

MAIN JOB TASKS & REQUIREMENTS

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities and experience. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure a sound design, and seamless installation and commissioning of our fire alarm solutions. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)
- Responsible for reviewing system layouts and coordinating with engineering, project management, and sales departments for successful project execution.
- Produce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.
- Program and commission complex fire alarm systems leading to final acceptance by customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Produce detailed commissioning and inspection reports in accordance with NFPA.
- Responsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution.
- Deliver projects on schedule and within cost budgets.
- Program systems via laptop computers.
- Assist in the oversight of project inventory and responsible for vehicle inventory.

You’ll serve as the internal go-to resource for business systems, reporting, and day-to-day technology support.
The role blends IT support, ERP/system administration (AS400), reporting, vendor coordination, and light operational support.

________________________________________ What You’ll Own Business Systems & Reporting Write and run queries in AS400 and Excel Prepare monthly reporting for management and vendors Set up and maintain B2B customer accounts Support and administer Sales-I Track contract expirations and renewals Provide cross-functional administrative backup as needed IT Support & Infrastructure Provide daily hands-on IT support and troubleshooting Set up PCs, printers, tablets, and sales devices Configure users in Microsoft Admin Center (MFA, authenticator setup) Document and maintain network/switch layout Support warehouse handheld devices Troubleshoot phone and connectivity issues Systems & Program Support Report and coordinate resolution of software issues (Gartman experience a plus) Assist with program implementation (NXP 3.0) Maintain system updates and equipment tracking (GoToResolve, Excel) Research & Technology Improvements Research new technology solutions and system upgrades Manage equipment and supply inventory Identify ways to improve efficiency and reporting processes ________________________________________ What We’re Looking For Experience supporting business systems or ERP environments (AS400 a strong plus) Comfortable being the primary internal IT contact Strong Excel skills and reporting experience Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Admin tools Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities Someone who enjoys working in a smaller, collaborative environment Experience with Sales-I, GoToResolve, or Gartman is a plus — but not required.
