Position Overview
We are searching for a talented and detail-oriented Buyer to support the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our operations. This role is responsible for purchasing activities, monitoring inventory levels and reorder points (ROPs), and strategically managing product buys. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers, logistics, and internal teams to maintain accurate order fulfillment and inventory levels.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Enter and maintain purchase orders in the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and timely placement with suppliers
- Monitor open orders, expedite, reschedule, or cancel as needed based on demand changes.
- Resolve purchase-related issues such as invoicing discrepancies, product returns, or quality concerns.
- Submit and process warranty claims with the factory and assist with related documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier information, item master data, and pricing agreements in the ERP system to support effective planning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by contributing ideas to enhance procurement operations.
- Work closely with suppliers, logistics, and internal teams to maintain accurate order fulfillment and inventory levels.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, experience with Prophet 21 is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed procurement decisions.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize tasks based on shifting business needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas preferred.
- Supply Chain certification or progress toward one (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus but not required

Applies training and skills to perform various tasks that support production operations.
May also train others in operations, techniques, and skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform operations in compliance with work instructions.
Complete production logistics by moving and transacting information through production systems.
Perform building sanitation tasks and maintain a clean work environment.
Prepare materials for operations and/or logistical tasks.
Interface with plant systems (e.g., document control, manufacturing execution system).
Communicate effectively and update/maintain records as needed.
Train others in assigned responsibilities.
Perform van runs between Fairport buildings (Building 57 & Building 430) to support operational needs.
Utilize Vertical Lift Module (VLM) and mobile racking for picking.
Operate manual pallet jacks and use carts to move materials safely and efficiently.
Perform other Production Support I responsibilities as assigned.
Working Conditions: Generally good working conditions.
Frequently lift or move materials up to 5 lbs.
Occasionally lift or move materials up to 15 lbs.
Rarely lift or move materials over 25 lbs.
Minimal exposure to disagreeable elements.
Cleanroom environment required.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and cleanroom garments (frock, gloves, facemask, etc.).
Valid driver’s license required.
1–4 van runs per shift between Fairport buildings (Building 57 & 430), depending on operational needs.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Work Experience: 1–2+ years of work experience preferred.
Manufacturing experience not required.
Transferable experience preferred (e.g., shipping or warehouse experience).
SAP experience desired but not required.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Support the growth and maintenance of the Foodservice, Janitorial, and Services contract portfolio and program. Assist in monitoring regional and national food service, janitorial, and services group purchasing programs. Support revenue growth, member/vendor relations, contract administration, and contract negotiations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Promote the mission, policies, and procedures of Pandion Optimization Alliance.
- Support day-to-day operations of foodservice, janitorial and services to include contract negotiations, contract analysis and management oversight.
- Establish and maintain strong member and vendor relationships.
- Assist the team that supports third-party providers
- Develop Quarterly Statements for the Strategic partners (50% + of volume is Food)
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) for Foodservice programs
- Expand Pandion direct agreements which an emphasis on, but not limited to: Milk, Bread and Produce by geographic region.
- Identify opportunities for new contract development with new and improved extensions
- Facilitate market basket development and interpret a market basket.
- Act as SME for all facets of foodservice operations (menu, production, staffing, retail operations, facility type items, etc.)
- Engage in professional development through seminars, workshops, and training.
- This position operates in a professional office environment using standard office equipment and technology.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in person and electronically.
- Must be willing to attend meetings and move about facilities as needed and possess a willingness to travel for meetings and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND PREFERRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or working toward completion).
- Contract negotiation experience required.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the foodservice industry is a plus.
- Demonstrate an interest in analytical research, leadership, and strategic planning.
- Strong relationship-building, communication skills, and presentation ability.
- Creative and strategic thinking and problem-solving skills; Strong writing and content development skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Action-oriented and eager to learn and grow.
- Familiarity with program management and CRM software is a plus.
- General understanding of healthcare industry trends is a plus.
