Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Harrison, OH, for a Manager of Shop Operations. The Manager of Shop Operations will oversee daily shop activities, ensuring efficiency in production processes, adherence to safety protocols, and optimal use of resources. Responsibilities include managing a team of shop employees, supervising operations such as construction and order fulfillment, and collaborating with sales teams to align workflow with business goals. Additional tasks include monitoring performance metrics, managing inventory levels and material needs, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Operations Management and strong Analytical Skills to oversee and improve processes efficiently.
• Proven expertise in Team Management to supervise, train, and coordinate shop staff effectively.
• Familiarity with Sales processes and the ability to collaborate with sales teams to align operational goals.
• Experience with construction and related technical proficiencies to oversee shop floor production tasks.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate across cross-functional teams and with stakeholders.
• Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing or shop operations environment.
• Spanish is a plus.

Main Ingredients of the Job

• Safely drive trucks to vendors / customers and meet scheduled pick up & delivery times

• Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures

• Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience

• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required

• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with multiple pick ups and drops per run

What You Bring to the Table

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications

• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required

• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations

• Willing to travel 5 days per week, returns home on weekends

• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $80K-$100K annually.

About the Role:
As an Intermodal Equipment Operator (also known as a Terminal Operator), you'll play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of shipping containers within our intermodal yard. Youll operate specialized equipmentsuch as hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loadersto load, unload, and relocate containers as part of our daily logistics operations. Your work ensures containers are handled accurately and safely, keeping freight moving on time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.

• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the yard.

• Use top loaders, side loaders, and/or cranes to stack, move, and organize containers.

• Perform equipment inspections before and after use to ensure operational safety.

• Communicate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate moves and tasks.

• Maintain a safe work environment by following established protocols and procedures.

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment or machinery in a logistics or industrial environment preferred
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs both off and on railcars
• Valid drivers license
• Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening
