ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design, develop, and deploy predictive and prescriptive models and machine learning algorithms using Microsoft Azure ML, Power Platform, Python, and other relevant tools
- Ability to drive unified data analytics (prescriptive and predictive), and leverage tools such as Power BI, Azure Synapse, OneLake.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technology, product, and business teams to understand data needs, translate them into algorithms and analytical solutions.Need to be able to deliver solutions to production.
- Demonstrated expertise in modeling of unstructured, semi-structured and structured data.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
- Visualize data insights using dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
- Provide technical direction and best practices for modeling, data engineering, and analytics
- Establish good data management practices including data governance and MDM.
- Establish standards for data quality, model validation, predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and analytics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
While this position may not initially have supervisory responsibilities, this role is expected to provide technical leadership in the area of data science and data analytics. This person is also be expected to collaborate across GS1 US and lead cross-functional teams as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field is preferred
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with manipulating large data sets, identifying patterns, and developing inference and regression models that can be implemented. Digital supply chain and e-Commerce experience is strongly preferred
- 8+ years of programming including tools such as Power BI and languages such as Python, SPARK, SQL etc.
- Hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure ecosystem including Azure ML, Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Power Platform
- Ability to lead complex projects, define analytical strategy, and mentor junior data scientists and engineers
- Data governance, security, and scalability skills
- Significant experience with supervised and/or unsupervised Machine Learning algorithms
- Experience with predictive and prescriptive analytics is a must
- NLP and Gen AI experience is preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, deep learning and statistical modeling
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for model deployment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and other business applications is a plus
- Exceptional storytelling with data and ability to translate complex data into actional insights

Job Summary
The Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, implementation, and improvement of automated manufacturing systems and controls across the production environment. This role is intended to complement the team’s already existing mechanical design strengths with deeper expertise in automation, controls, programming, and manufacturing system integration. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and can bridge the gap between equipment functionality, controls logic, and practical shop-floor execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, support, and improve automated manufacturing systems, controls, and equipment integrations
- Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLC’s, HMI’s, sensors, and related control systems
- Partner with Engineering to identify opportunities to automate or streamline manual production processes
- Effectively communicate project status, risks, and technical decisions to Engineering and Production leadership
- Troubleshoot equipment, controls, and process issues affecting safety, quality, uptime, or throughput
- Assist in evaluating and specifying controls components, electrical hardware, and automation technologies for new and existing equipment
- Develop and update SOP’s, work instructions, and documentation related to automated systems and controls
- Support equipment commissioning, testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze system performance and production data to recommend improvements in reliability

- Experience with PLC programming, HMI interfaces, sensors, drives, and industrial control systems

- Experience with robotic automation, motion control, or part handling systems

Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Energy Engineer II based between our Melville, New York and Lawrenceville, New Jersey offices with flexibility to work from home one day per week.
The Energy Engineer plays a key role in developing innovative energy conservation measures and demand‑side management strategies for buildings and facilities.
