Position Summary

Virginia Transformer Corp, a leading manufacturer of power transformers and electrical infrastructure solutions, is seeking a Pricing Manager to lead pricing strategy, quotation governance, and margin optimization across the organization.

This role will work closely with sales, engineering, finance, supply chain, and operations to ensure competitive and profitable pricing for transformer products and services. The Pricing Manager will play a key role in supporting the company’s growth by developing data-driven pricing strategies, improving quote accuracy, and enhancing commercial decision-making across utility, renewable energy, industrial, and EPC markets.


Key Responsibilities

Pricing Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that support revenue growth, margin optimization, and market competitiveness.
  • Establish and maintain pricing policies, guidelines, and approval structures.
  • Evaluate market conditions, competitor pricing, and industry trends to inform pricing decisions.

Quote & Proposal Support

  • Partner with sales and inside sales teams to develop pricing for transformer bids, RFQs, and large project proposals.
  • Review and approve pricing for major opportunities to ensure alignment with profitability targets.
  • Ensure pricing structures reflect technical complexity, manufacturing costs, lead times, and project risks.

Cost & Margin Analysis

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain to analyze product cost structures.
  • Conduct margin analysis across product lines, customer segments, and markets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing discipline and overall profitability.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor industry trends within power transformers, utilities, EPC projects, renewable energy, and industrial power markets.
  • Benchmark company pricing against competitors and market dynamics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to sales leadership and executive management.

Process Improvement & Tools

  • Improve pricing processes and workflows to increase speed, accuracy, and transparency in quoting.
  • Support the development and maintenance of pricing tools, cost models, and CRM systems.
  • Help standardize pricing methodologies across product lines and customer segments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales leadership, finance, engineering, and operations to align pricing decisions with company objectives.
  • Support negotiations on large or strategic customer opportunities.
  • Provide pricing guidance for long-term contracts, framework agreements, and strategic partnerships.


Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field required.

MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 7–12 years of experience in pricing, commercial finance, sales operations, or strategic pricing.
  • Experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, power infrastructure, utilities, or industrial markets strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with complex engineered products and project-based pricing environments.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to interpret technical product specifications and manufacturing cost structures

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our Corporate Engineering team in Roanoke, VA. This position will be responsible for providing technical support and engineering assistance to all TA facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assets Maintenance
  • Perform periodic inspection and auditing of all TA facilities to review condition and propose any additional inspections, necessary repairs and/or upgrades of existing structures
  • Keep track of any regulatory changes and building codes for all locations of TA operations project related work
  • Provide Structural Engineering support to the Project Management team during design and construction phases of new installations
  • Provide input to Project Managers regarding budget and time schedule preparation of major projects
  • Supervise site and soil survey works to assist in the proper design and engineering of foundations
  • Assist during the permitting and site development phases
  • Ensure code compliance of all new buildings and installations and work with Project Managers to issue all necessary building and occupancy permits
  • Assist in preparation of all necessary scopes of work for all foundation, concrete, steel, and structural works of major projects. Participate in the evaluation process for the selection of the proper design and construction firms
  • Provide supervision during major and critical phases of a project related to Structural Engineering works


Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Structural Engineering is required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Structural Engineering positions preferably in heavy industrial installations
  • Knowledge of Project Management and CAD packages will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of structural design software packages will be considered a plus
  • Professional license in any State will be considered a plus

Job Summary

This position is onsite in Roanoke VA and will be responsible for reviewing documents, contracts, communications, purchase orders, proposals, and working to ensure all commercial terms and conditions, business risks and potentially onerous requirements are addressed to the benefit of the company. Help direct Contracts Specialists and ensure the appropriate forms are completed for approval and other documentation. The role will also be responsible for overseeing the performance of audits and completing checklists of contract information, reviewing input to the management ERP system and updating and maintaining files and data spreadsheets related to contract reviews and other projects as needed. The position requires a detail oriented, organized person, familiar with business, contracts, risk mitigation and with strong, MS Word, reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts for risk including liabilities, Indemnification, Insurance, Warranty, Cancellation, redlining and editing problematic wording and language.
  • Keep updated contract and customer logs
  • Maintain records of all contracts and agreements. Ensure through audits the agreements are current the company is following terms, and achieving key milestones, and managing risk.
  • Assist in coordinating as needed with Key stakeholders in Sales, Engineering, and operations.
  • Review customer purchase orders to confirm compliance with quoted pricing, and terms of sales and ensure that all required order elements are accurately entered into the ERP system and are processed in accordance with the procedures and instructions.

We are seeking an experienced Painters/Finishers to support the opening of the brand-new STS facility near Salem, Virginia in the Roanoke, VA area.
Responsibilities of the Painter/Finisher:
  • Sprays surfaces of, manufactured products, or producat area with protective or decorative material, such as primer, paint, enamel, using spray gun: Cleans grease and dirt from product, using materials, such as lacquer thinner, soap, and water.
  • Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
  • May manually manipulate parts into the proper carrier/hanger to provide for proper spraying/drying
  • Sands/preps the primer surface to include removing defects and to fill cavities and dents with body filler and putty to attain smooth surface.
  • Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications, using paddle or mechanical mixer.
  • Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose.
  • Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray according to knowledge of painting technique.
  • Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
  • Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
  • Capable of doing spot repair on parts, using blending clear to cut in edges.
  • Wet sand small defects and buff paint back to original shine.

Requirements for the Painter/Finisher include:
  • Experience in automotive paint and body repair.
  • Experience in paint surfaces, paint sprayers, and paint booths preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written).
  • Excellent visual acuity to identify flaws in Class A painted surfaces.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certifications from apprentice or training programs preferred.

About the Role


We are seeking a Contract Execution Manager to serve as the customer-facing liaison for large, custom-engineered, power transformer manufacturing projects. This is not a construction or software PM role — it is a highly technical, contract-driven position responsible for ensuring the successful execution of engineered-to-order equipment, from design release through manufacturing, shipment, and onsite installation.


The position is onsite in Roanoke, VA and requires close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, contracts, and field service teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers after order placement, ensuring clear communication and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate customer specifications and contract terms into actionable deliverables for engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Oversee project schedules adherence to contractional milestone execution, and scope; identify risks and implement proactive resolutions.
  • Lead customer project meetings and provide updates on progress, milestones, and risks.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at different stages of execution from order entry through manufacturing, shipping, and warranty.
  • Manage all contract obligations, including technical clarifications, change orders, and terms enforcement, in collaboration with sales and legal teams.
  • Coordinate and ensure site preparation, shipping, and installation activities with customers and field service.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement in contract and project execution processes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract execution, project management, or project engineering for engineered-to-order equipment, power systems, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to manage large customer-facing technical projects with contractual complexity.
  • Familiarity with transformers, switchgear, substations, or high-voltage equipment preferred.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Roanoke, VA (relocation assistance available).
  • Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites.

Summary

Virginia Transformer is seeking a results-oriented Sr. Manager/Director of Inbound Logistics to lead global transportation operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective inbound delivery of materials and components to support production schedules across our network.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead inbound transportation strategy across ocean, air, and freight forwarding channels.
  • Develop and manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PLs to ensure reliability and cost efficiency.

Divisional Quality Manager

Reports to: Director of Quality

Location: Onsite – Multi-Plant (U.S.)

Travel: 60%


Position Summary

The Divisional Quality Manager is responsible for leading and standardizing quality systems across multiple Virginia Transformer manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Director of Quality, this role ensures consistent execution of quality standards for custom-engineered power transformers serving utility, industrial, renewable, and critical infrastructure markets.

This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Test, Supply Chain, and Customer teams to improve first-pass yield, reduce rework and non-conformances, and ensure Virginia Transformer meets or exceeds customer, regulatory, and industry requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Divisional Quality Leadership

  • Lead divisional quality initiatives across assigned Virginia Transformer plants, ensuring alignment with corporate quality strategy.
  • Serve as the senior quality escalation point for plant leadership on significant quality issues.
  • Support the Director of Quality in establishing divisional KPIs, quality objectives, and continuous improvement priorities.

Manufacturing & Test Quality

  • Drive quality performance across transformer manufacturing, assembly, and test operations.
  • Partner with Test Lab leadership to ensure compliance with IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and customer-specific test requirements.
  • Improve first-pass yield, reduce scrap and rework, and strengthen process control throughout manufacturing and testing.

Compliance, Audits & Certifications

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards.
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits, including:
  • Utility and industrial customer audits
  • Certification body audits
  • Regulatory and third-party inspections
  • Drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with sustained results.

Supplier & Incoming Quality

  • Partner with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality to improve incoming material quality for core steel, coils, insulation systems, bushings, tap changers, and other critical components.
  • Support supplier audits, qualifications, and corrective action efforts.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.

Customer Quality & Issue Resolution

  • Serve as a key quality leader for customer quality concerns, including non-conformances, test failures, warranty issues, and field returns.
  • Lead cross-functional root cause investigations (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and ensure timely, effective resolution.
  • Support customer quality reviews and performance reporting.

Data, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and maintain divisional quality dashboards and KPIs.
  • Analyze quality trends related to defects, test failures, and customer feedback.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop plant-level Quality Managers and quality teams across the division.
  • Build a strong culture of accountability, ownership, and “right-first-time” execution.
  • Support training, capability building, and succession planning within the Quality organization.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting multi-plant manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and audit processes.
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in transformer manufacturing, power equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, IEC standards and utility customer requirements.
