Electrical Preconstruction Manager

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimating Manager to lead projects during the preconstruction phase for data center construction. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering accurate, efficient, and client-focused preconstruction services, specific to specialty contracting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead project manager during preconstruction, overseeing RFPs, estimates, design coordination, BIM, procurement, budgeting, deliverables, and client communications until the project transitions to construction management.
• Provide conceptual budgets and cost tools to support project qualification and business development.
• Coordinate and manage the estimating process for bids, including document review, bid strategy, and bid review meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering preferred.
• Must have 8+ years of experience in construction, preferably in estimating, with a minimum of 2+ years of preconstruction management/leadership within electrical construction.
• Experience with electrical contracting and/or MEP coordination.
• Proficiency in electrical estimating, project budgeting, and cost management.
• Software knowledge in ConEst, Google Workspace, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Experience managing design-build projects.

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and help design and optimize cranes, attachments, and related equipment tailored for the rail industry.

This role requires a deep understanding of the unique challenges of railway construction, including heavy lifts, track maintenance, and complex logistics. You will collaborate with a skilled engineering team to create designs that prioritize safety, efficiency, durability, and compliance with industry standards. Work Schedule

This position follows a 9/80 work schedule and is primarily based in Chesterfield, Virginia. When supporting the Aftermarket Group, approximately 80% of your time will be at our Richmond location, with one dedicated day per week at Chesterfield headquarters.

As a first responder to the railroad industry, all Cranemasters employees are considered on call for emergency support. Engineering management may request support outside normal hours to meet urgent operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development

• Design: Develop new crane structures, overhaul existing designs, and create hardware for enhanced functionality. Apply abstract thinking, visualize 3D concepts from 2D drawings, and perform reverse engineering when needed.
• Testing: Validate designs through calculations, modeling, and prototyping. Conduct field testing to simulate real-world conditions, identify issues, and ensure compliance before full implementation.

Aftermarket

• Rebuild Projects: Lead inspections, refurbishments, and rebuilds of high-tonnage cranes and related machinery. Plan and execute repairs and upgrades to meet safety and industry standards.
• Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams, troubleshoot issues remotely or on-site, and ensure optimal equipment performance.

Production

• Catalog Design Updates: Implement iterative design improvements for standard equipment models. Coordinate releases with management and manufacturing teams based on production schedules.
• Compliance & Delivery: Ensure all builds meet customer specifications and regulatory standards. Complete documentation, testing, and final handoff of equipment.

General Responsibilities

Position Description:

We're seeking a senior-level Staff Engineer to serve as a technical subject matter expert supporting coal and biomass power generation. In this role, you'll provide high-impact engineering leadership across boiler operations, air pollution control (APC) systems, fuel handling, and ash/waste handling—helping operating and maintenance teams solve complex performance, reliability, and compliance challenges.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys being the go-to technical advisor—driving decisions through strong analysis, practical field knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration.

What you'll do (Responsibilities):

• Provide engineering leadership and technical consultation for coal/biomass combustion and associated plant systems.
• Support and optimize APC equipment including Wet FGD, dry scrubbers, mercury control, and potential Dry Sorbent Injection (DSI) solutions.
• Advise teams on fuel quality impacts to combustion performance, boiler cleanliness/sootblowing, emissions control, and downstream systems (NOx, SO2/SO3, HCl/acid gases, PM, Hg).

We are seeking a highly experienced Guidewire Test Architect to lead the Test Strategy, Test Architecture, and Quality Engineering initiatives for our Guidewire transformation program.
