The Assist. Chief Engineer will supervise the implementation of all property and equipment preventive maintenance and repairs, monitor life safety systems and utilities and assist in the administration of the department in compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and employees.
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise day-to-day operations of Engineering department:
- Implement and schedule property and equipment preventive maintenance programs in compliance with corporate/franchise standards and local, state and national codes and regulations.
- Prioritize service requests; schedule and monitor the service performed to ensure customer satisfaction, safety and convenience.
- Test and examine the life safety systems to ensure they are 100% operational at all times.
- Monitor utility consumption to determine the effectiveness of current systems.
- Review purchase requests and monitor expenses budget to ensure goals are met/exceeded.
- Assist in the administration of the department by preparing and maintaining schedules, logs, records and other documentation to ensure a smooth operation and minimize liabilities.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

About The Role
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for leading the measurement and analysis of warehouse inventory processes, developing standard operating procedures, and implementing continuous improvement projects. The Manufacturing Engineer's scope of responsibility covers the end-to-end warehouse process (material preparation, receiving, storage, inventory, and shipment preparation). This position is set up to highlight and facilitate the skills needed to develop an individual.
What You Will Do
- Process Development / Support: Design, measure, and support manufacturing process changes; develop standard operating procedures to improve operator efficiency and process consistency.
- Continuous Improvement: Collect and analyze key performance metrics such as cycle time, storage efficiency and yield to drive process and quality improvements.

Responsibilities
· Monitor assigned project for conformance with the construction schedule, expected quality levels, and adherence to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures
· Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities including OSHA safety compliance
· Direct field personnel according to the project plan and Vernon supervisory principles
· Provide leadership, advice, and assistance to field staff regarding materials, sequencing, scheduling, personnel and methods of construction
· Serve as an advocate for Field Operations

o Provide leadership in the monthly update and narrative process
o Confirm that workmanship and materials conform to plans and specifications

o Provide leadership in responding creatively to challenges to bring projects in on schedule and under budget where feasible
· Scheduling:
o Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field
o Establish and implement the Project Baseline Schedule based on the project contracts and subcontractor input, taking into account any elements that might impact the schedule
o Maintain the schedule and ensure that work performed is consistent with the contract and will meet or exceed client expectations
o Update Project Schedule monthly
o Provide progress report with the two-week look ahead of schedule to the Project Manager and the field staff
· Safety:
o Ensure that all subcontractors participate in a safety pre-construction meeting prior to starting work on the project
o Ensure that all subcontractors have a full set of MSD sheets on the project, as well as their site specific safety plan and current insurance certificate
o Review the project daily to ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with all OSHA and governing requirements and the project site specific safety plan
o Review safety reports and injury data to assess safety performance on assigned projects
o Communicate clear expectations for safety to project teams
o Perform safety inspections
o Adhere to all Vernon Safety program requirements
· Quality Management:
o Ensure that all pertinent benchmarks for the project are established and inserted into the baseline schedule
o Ensure that all 1st delivery inspections and Benchmark inspections occur per the baseline schedule so as not to impact the progression of the subsequent work
o Ensure that the inspections are approved, documented, and communicated to the project team
· Subcontractor Coordination and Site Management throughout the Project:
o Review the project daily to ensure that all activities are being performed in accordance with the contract documents, ensure that products delivered to the site are in conformance with approved product data submittals
o Ensure that all subcontractors are working off of approved sets of submittals, shop drawings and coordination drawings
o Ensure that all bulletins, sketches and other documents are printed and provided to field staff onsite
o Schedule coordination meetings weekly with subcontractors
o Manage site pre-construction including pre-construction survey, job site utilization and staging plans
o Mobilize the field office and maintains the job site to Vernon standards
o Organize documentation of the job site for easy access and review
o Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards
o Work with PM to identify and resolve personnel issues and construction process revisions
o Manage all phases of the construction process including documenting and reporting site activities and progress, manage and assist with Job Site Utilization Plan
· Meeting Management:
o Attend project turnover, mobilization, and project coordination meetings
o Attend/chair safety pre-construction meetings
o Attend/chair weekly foreman and safety meetings
o Attend/chair monthly schedule review meetings
o Attend/chair weekly subcontractor coordination meetings

o Complete and implement construction office checklists including emergency phone lists
o Complete daily reports and maintains logs of key activities, files, and shop drawings
o Manage the quality and condition of all material deliveries
o Maintain required safety reporting and all other required files to Vernon standards
o Insure that as-built working drawings are maintained as well as the current drawing log and revision log, communicating this to the subcontractors
· Project Closeout:
o Manage subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, work list and punch list
o Ensure timely completion of punch lists
o Participate in the one-year warranty walkthrough, ensures timely completion of all issues and that appropriate records are kept
Qualifications
· Proficiency in basic technological applications is required
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a preferred but not required
· Experience relative to size/scope of projects
· Minimum of 5 years of general contracting experience or working at CM at Risk firm
· DOB Licensed Superintendent is a plus
· The ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between Vernon business needs, organizational issues, and sound customer relations

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking skilled Make-Ready Designers (primary focus) and Power Distribution Designers to support engineering programs for major electric and telecom utilities. Ideal candidates bring demonstrated experience in overhead utility pole design, NESC application, clearance assessment, pole loading analysis, and construction package development. Useful design platforms include DDS, Katapult, O-Calc, GIS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, or client-specific drafting systems.

The Advanced Airborne RF Sensors department within the Space and Airborne Systems Engineering and Test Capability (SE&TC) Center is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our team in North Texas. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the integration, testing, and verification of advanced hardware and software systems. You will ensure our products meet customer requirements and perform to expectations, from initial development through deployment and post-deployment support. Perform calibration and operation of phased array antennas within a laboratory test‑range environment.
Support testing, validation, and integration activities for phased array antenna systems, RF sensor, and EW systems.
Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate ES/EA system performance and inform design decisions.
Create and execute test plans and procedures, evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in preparation for final system sell-off to the customer.
Support production, system deployment, and post-deployment activities, ensuring product performance and reliability.
Collaborate across hardware and software disciplines to identify and implement solutions to complex system challenges.
Engage in Digital Transformation (DTx) efforts, leveraging methods and enabling technologies such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development practices.
Work alongside teams of engineers to support integration and testing efforts, ensuring seamless functionality of system components.
Utilize laboratory equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, and digital voltmeters.
Test event support activity may require travel which is not expected to exceed 20%.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of EW/Radar systems design and requirements engineering experience.
Modeling and simulation for Electronic Warfare (EW) or radar systems.
Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo Enterprise Architecture (SysML specifically), digital thread concepts, digital engineering, MBSE with DevSecOps).
Matlab/Simulink, DOORS, DNG, Cameo, Jira, and Confluence.
