About the Opportunity

An engineering organization is seeking a Senior Designer with experience in oil or steel manufacturing to support complex design projects. This role involves preparing construction documents, developing layouts, performing calculations, and ensuring compliance with client and internal standards. The position offers collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and exposure to field work, point cloud data, and 3D modeling.

Job Duties

• Complete layouts for projects ranging from simple to complex independently.

• Determine design criteria, drawing sequences, and sectioning for system components.

• Update P&IDs and select or modify standard details.

• Perform calculations, measurements, and prepare material documentation.

• Develop complete discipline drawing packages and ensure compliance with client and internal standards.

• Review and check work of other designers within the discipline.

Qualifications

United States Steel Corporation is looking for a Shift Manager Operations, responsible for utilizing a hands-on approach to effectively deal with technical and non-technical issues related to production by recognizing potential problems and making critical decisions with little input from other managers. In addition, this role will be directing the safe, efficient and economical operation of the facility, and coordinating activities of workers engaged in overseeing the operation. Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines, mills, lathes, and other production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Troubleshoot CNC control systems
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation of all repairs and PM activities.
• Assist with equipment installations, alignments, and calibration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; CNC equipment experience required.
• Strong knowledge of CNC control systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
• Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related issues.

Provide Safety Health and Environmental leadership and training to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance. This is primarily a support role working under the site EHS Manager. Assisting with the administration of compliance programs, procedures, and policies. This role may also act as a liaison with regulatory agencies when necessary.

This position covers two Illinois Innophos locations: Chicago Heights and Riverdale. These two facilities are located approximately 10 miles apart. Work performed will be in a manufacturing of specialty ingredients setting and an office setting. All work in the manufacturing environment requires use of protective clothing and personal devices: safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, earplugs, goggles, insulated gloves, safety vest, harness, hair net, slicker suit and may include the use of respiratory protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Supportive role providing Health, Safety and Environmental direction, leadership, and training to ensure continuous improvement in EHS performance
• Contribute to and support compliance programs, procedures, and policies and acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies when necessary
• Support all health, safety, and environmental programs, including developing, writing, implementing, auditing, and maintaining policies and procedures in compliance with company, local, state and federal rules and regulations

Required Education And Experience

• BS degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of experience in a health and safety role at a manufacturing location, preferably in the chemical or food industry

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills, including the ability to train
• Working knowledge of OSHA and USEPA regulatory matters covering industrial chemical process operations
