Position Overview

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials, components, and services required to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures materials are delivered on time, at competitive costs, and at the quality needed to meet production schedules. The Buyer collaborates closely with suppliers, production teams, engineering, quality, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and capacity.
• Issue purchase orders (POs) and manage order confirmations, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to reduce cost and improve reliability.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
• Maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and international suppliers.

Inventory & Material Planning

• Ensure materials are available to support the production schedule while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Collaborate with planning and production teams to forecast material needs.
• Track and manage lead times, safety stock, and usage trends.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams on receiving, returns, and discrepancies.

Cost Control & Process Improvement

• Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation, alternative materials, or process improvements.
• Support new product introductions with timely sourcing of components.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing lists, and documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Compliance & Systems

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations.
• Use ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory tracking, and reporting.
• Maintain data accuracy within ERP systems, including item details, lead times, and pricing.

Must Haves:

• 3+ years in Quality Assurance in manufacturing/production/assembly
• Experience working in automotive, semiconductor, electronics, or highly automated environments
• 2+ years in a supervisor role
• Experience working with Lean Manufacturing/JIT, Six Sigma methodologies and Total Quality fundamentals

Plusses:

• Certifications (UL1703, IEC 61215, IEC61730-1, IEC61730- 2, Green Belt, etc)

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation of quality control measures and standards within the organization. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the quality of products, processes, and services. Responsibilities:

• Manage daily performance of QC staff

Job Summary

The Continuous Improvement Engineer supports large-scale industrial bakery operations by driving process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement across high-volume, automated production lines. This role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing waste, increasing throughput, and ensuring consistent product quality while maintaining strict food safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze end-to-end industrial bakery processes including mixing, fermentation/proofing, baking, cooling, slicing, and packaging
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, and labor efficiency
• Identify and eliminate process variation impacting product quality, weight control, and consistency
• Reduce downtime through root cause analysis of equipment failures and process disruptions
• Develop, standardize, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to implement improvements
• Use data and statistical tools to monitor KPIs (waste, scrap, throughput, changeover time, energy usage)Support automation, line balancing, and capacity expansion projects
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements (HACCP, GMP, SQF, BRC, FDA/USDA as applicable)Train production teams on continuous improvement tools and standardized processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in industrial food manufacturing, preferably bakery or grain-based products
• Strong knowledge of high-speed production lines and automated equipment
• Proficiency in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
• Ability to analyze production data and drive fact-based decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

Experience with OEE systems, MES, or manufacturing analytics tools

Familiarity with thermal processing, dough handling, and packaging systems

Project management experience in manufacturing environments

This newly created position will be working under the direction of the Engineering Manager maintaining critical master data and documentation within the D365 ERP System. This role serves as the technical bridge between Engineering, Quality, and Production, ensuring that all production and new production introduction (NPI) data - including part numbers, bills of materials (BOM) and production routes and commodity codes are accurately created, maintained and compliant with quality standards.

Role and responsibilities:

• ERP data management: Execute the end-to-end setup of released products in D365, including the assignment of unique part numbers and technical attributes.
• BOM creation & maintenance: Build and manage multi-level Bills of Materials, perform BOM versioning and certification to ensure production readiness and costing accuracy.
• Routing & process mapping: Create and maintain manufacturing routes in D365 for all areas of the business.
• Commodity & trade compliance: Enter and maintain commodity codes to ensure accurate customs identification and duty calculations.
• NPI quality documentation: Author and maintain technical documentation for new product launches, including work instructions, process flow charts and PFMEA/DFMEA reports.
• System optimization: Collaborate with IT to troubleshoot data discrepancies and optimize D365 workflows for better data integrity across the NPI lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Two-year technical degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related technical field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
• One to two year's experience in a technical administrative or engineering support role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience using ERP systems, D365 preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing structures, including sub-assemblies, BOMs and routing links.
