The Blum Center for Developing Economies at the University of California, Berkeley is generating an applicant pool of qualified instructors and invites applications to teach courses in the area of Development Engineering. In addition to core DevEng classes (DevEng 200, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206), new classes may be planned based upon student interest and candidate expertise. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Analyzes blueprints, schematics, and drawings for existing and proposed HVAC systems for the purpose of identifying the location of new and existing systems and determining the efficient installation of additional equipment/systems.

Confers with immediate supervisor and assists with the coordination of day-to-day activities (e.g.

periodic lubrication; filter cleaning; changing belts, repairing system leaks, checking water tower components, trouble/issues phone call response, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the proper and efficient maintenance and repair of District HVAC.

Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently.

Coordinates personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders (e.g.

Section I: Brief Summary of the Job.
Under the supervision of the Community Development Director, the Building Official is an exempt position under FLSA. This employee is responsible for the overall guidance, direction and management of the City's building code function which includes overseeing and enforcing city codes by inspecting buildings, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems of construction projects and existing structures within the City of Spring Hill. In addition, this employee coordinates and oversees the activities and operations related to plan review, issuance of building permits, building construction inspection services and coordination of assigned activities. Section II: Essential Duties of the Job.
  • Oversee building code compliance, managing inspections and ensuring safety standards in construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local building codes and regulations including reviewing plans, issuing permits and conducting inspections.

Section V: Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
A thorough knowledge of building inspections, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems, federal, state and local building regulations and codes is required. This employee must be able to operate computers, department vehicles, electrical testing equipment, copiers, and other office equipment. The ability to interpret building codes and regulations, to prepare reports, to understand and anticipate problems, and to understand written instructions, reports, proposals, specifications, blueprints, schematics, and code books is required.
