Associate Attorney
Job Description
The Philadelphia office of Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience. The associate will handle a variety of complex professional liability claims, including but not limited to Securities, Legal Malpractice, Architects and Engineers, Employment and Insurance Agent Cases. Experience in these areas preferred but not required.
PA & NJ bar admission required.
Salary is commensurate with experience, but the range for this position is $92,500-$102,500 (not including bonus).
Position Summary
Associate responsibilities include representation of clients in legal proceedings, including but not limited to conducting research, drafting pleadings, discovery and various motions, taking and defending depositions, handling court hearings, communicating with clients regarding case strategy, and participating in mediation and trials.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Efficient management of multiple cases.
- Timely preparation of pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Participation in mediations, hearings, and depositions as required.
- Evaluation of findings and development of strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- On-time completion of reports/projects, in adherence to partner and client needs/guidelines.
- Accurate and timely recording of billable hours, in adherence to client guidelines and Firm policy.
Position Skills and Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend complex matters, to identify and to articulate core issues, and to understand applicable legal principles.
- Possess keen-eye for detail, coupled with exceptional research and proofreading abilities.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Strong research and legal writing skills.
Educational Requirements
- J.D. from accredited ABA law school.
- 2-3 years of experience.
- Pennsylvania & New Jersey Bar Association admission.
