Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and ensure compliance with hours of service, weight limits, and loading regulations.
- Communicate daily with dispatchers to report on assignments and make necessary adjustments.
- Engage professionally with customers regarding deliveries and arrival times.
- Document business expenses and logistics accurately.
- Plan efficient routes while avoiding truck-restricted areas and managing fuel stops according to company policies.
- Safely inspect cargo and operate equipment like pallet jacks.
- Complete required paperwork including logs, trips, and expenses.
- Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders including dispatchers, law enforcement, and fellow motorists.
- Adapt to various driving conditions and manage time effectively to avoid delays.
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Commercial Drivers License Class A (CDL A).
- Minimum of six months over-the-road experience with tractor-trailers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CDL A driving regulations.
- Meets physical requirements as outlined by DOT regulations.
- Skilled in handling a tractor with a 53-foot trailer.
- Ability to operate equipment necessary for the position.
- Willingness to pass a road test.
