About The Opportunity

UPMC's Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI) seeks a full-time, interventional cardiologist to join its expanding team. The successful candidate will enjoy a clinical academic appointment and provide interventional services at its UPMC Jameson location. HVI at UPMC Jameson, in collaboration with its Pittsburgh interventional colleagues, provides 24/7 STEMI coverage. Procedures include diagnostic and interventional heart catheterizations, TEE's, cardioversions, temporary and permanent pacemakers, Intra-aortic Balloon Pumps as well as peripheral angiogram and intervention by vascular surgery. HVI's service at UPMC Jameson, and nearby UPMC Horizon, together are comprised of 4 full-time cardiologists currently (2 interventionalists with 2 non-invasive cardiologists now & growing to 6 combined) as well as 10 APPs serving two suburban areas near Pittsburgh. - Responsible for pre-visit planning per the standard operating procedure guidelines.

- Set up the ultrasound/upload image series to Paxera for review.
- Download Paxera ultrasound reports and attach to chart for billing.
- Prepare imaging discs for sport medicine patients.
- Assist with casting and cast removal.
- Fitting patients for splints, boots and crutches when needed.
- Preparing tray set ups for all sports medicine procedures including drawing up the medication that will be used in the correct dose.
- Assist with procedures.
- Completing sports medicine intake process for all patients. Being thorough and detail oriented in entering in the EMR.
- Answering and addressing sports medicine inboxes including EMR, voice and email.
- Manage sports medicine supplies and inventory.

  • Doctorate Degree in Medicine
  • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board

Role responsibilities

What you’ll do as a Vascular Surgeon:

• Evaluate and treat arterial and venous disorders, including peripheral vascular disease.

• Perform open and endovascular procedures, including but not limited to abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy and stenting, peripheral artery bypass and stenting, varicose vein treatment, and dialysis access creation and maintenance

• Diagnose and manage liver, gallbladder, bile duct, and pancreatic disorders including hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer.

• Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as liver biopsies, imaging studies, and lab tests.

• Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic liver conditions, including pre- and post-liver transplant care.

• Provide patient education, disease prevention guidance, and health maintenance support
