Since 1989, Legarza Sports has been a leader in youth basketball in the Bay Area. Generations of players and families have come through our programs, and we are committed to continuing to grow and evolve as the needs of players and parents change.
We’re hiring a Basketball Program Coordinator to help support and expand our basketball programming while working closely with our leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to be part of the ground-level growth of our club basketball program, which launched its first season with 20 teams.

he right candidate will combine a passion for coaching with an interest in helping build and grow a program that has already become a trusted name in youth basketball.
About the Role
This is a hybrid role that combines:
- Daytime PE instruction during the school year
- Basketball coaching across after-school classes, camps, leagues, and club teams
- Program development and operational support
You’ll begin by learning Legarza’s philosophies, systems, and teaching methods while coaching and supporting existing programs. Over time, you’ll take on increasing responsibility in areas like curriculum development, coach support, scheduling, and program growth.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to grow into a leadership role in youth basketball, rather than stepping into a fully built position.
What You’ll Do
Program Leadership & Development
- Help lead and expand Legarza’s basketball camps, classes, leagues, and club teams
- Support the continued growth of our club basketball program
- Contribute to the development and evolution of basketball curriculum and training systems
- Assist with coach development and mentorship
- Collaborate with leadership on program growth and long-term strategy
Coaching & Instruction
- Coach after-school basketball classes, camps, and leagues
- Support and potentially coach within the club basketball program
- Teach PE programs during the school day
- Deliver engaging, high-energy instruction focused on skill development, teamwork, and leadership
- Model strong communication, professionalism, and classroom management
Operations & Growth
- Help coordinate scheduling, staffing, and program logistics
- Support enrollment growth by delivering excellent programs
- Contribute ideas to improve programs as player and family needs evolve

Job Summary
To provide instructional, recruiting and organizational expertise for the Men's Basketball program at Georgia Tech, supporting the Head Coach in building an environment that inspires and empowers student-athletes to be champions in academics, competition, and life.
Responsibilities
- Support the Head Coach in evaluating individual and team strengths and developing strategies for skill improvement.
- Support the Head Coach with all games, scrimmages, and practices.
- Support the Head Coach in providing appropriate discipline for student-athletes for violations of team rules or Georgia Tech and Association regulations, or conduct impacting upon team matters, team policies or the reputation of Georgia Tech and the Association.
- Assist the Head Coach and support staff in planning and supervising programs for player training, conditioning, and drug education and testing.
- Assist the Head Coach in recommending students for athletic grant-in-aid scholarships from Georgia Tech.
- Assist the Head Coach with the recruitment of student-athletes for the Men's Basketball program.
- Direct Men's Basketball program student-athletes to the appropriate resources for assistance regarding financial aid, academic advisement, and general student needs provided by Georgia Tech or the Association.
- Assist the Head Coach and support staff with providing appropriate program safety requirements.
- Promote an atmosphere of compliance within the Men's Basketball program, Cooperate with the Association compliance office regarding NCAA rules and policies, including reporting requirements. Make a determined effort to utilize available compliance resources.
- Support the Head Coach and Association administration in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes to facilitate pursuit of a baccalaureate degree.
- Participate in public relations and promotions for the Men's Basketball program as assigned, and support the Communications and Public Relations department in the preparation of Men's Basketball program materials and resources.
- Partner with The Alexander-Tharpe Fund as needed in fundraising efforts to support the Men's Basketball program, Georgia Tech, and the Association, including encouraging contributions.
- Assist the Head Coach in overseeing the preparation and update of the equipment inventory for the Men's Basketball program in partnership with the equipment manager.
- Assist the Head Coach with expending operational resources budgeted to the Men's Basketball program in a manner consistent with Georgia Tech and Association policies.
- Represent Georgia Tech the Association as requested with efforts and initiatives involving Georgia Tech partners, including the Alexander-Tharpe Fund and Alumni Association, and with intercollegiate athletics organizations such as the NCAA and ACC.
- Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents.

Oversee a team of officials, ensuring all games start on time and staff are properly trained and supported throughout the day. Provide scheduled breaks for officials and facilitate in-the-moment conflict resolution when needed. Cultivate a positive, respectful, and inclusive culture among staff, players, coaches, and families. Serve as the primary point of contact on game day, ensuring a smooth, professional, and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Venue & Equipment Oversight
Set up and break down all necessary field equipment, ensuring the venue is clean, organized, and ready for play. Conduct pre- and post-event checks to maintain a safe, welcoming, and professional environment. Must be capable of lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 30 lbs and have no physical limitations that would prevent them from performing the physical duties required for game day operations.

Officiate youth games with a focus on safety, fairness, and fun. Apply game rules consistently and confidently to maintain competitive integrity. Make timely, accurate calls using sound knowledge of rules and officiating mechanics. Maintain control of games, handling disputes or concerns respectfully and professionally.
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate clearly with coaches, players, and fellow officials before, during, and after games. Address coach or player concerns calmly and constructively, supporting continuous improvement. RequirementsMUST BE OVER 21 - Prior experience as a referee is essential and should include working with youth athletes. Management or leadership experience is requiredpreferably in a sports, coaching, or event setting. Thorough knowledge of rules and regulations, with the ability to enforce them consistently and fairly. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate decisions clearly and confidently to players, coaches, and parents. Strong problem-solving abilities to address on-field challenges calmly and effectively. Dependable and punctual, with a strong commitment to attending all scheduled games and events. JOB SUMMARY
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Coordinate airspace and range resources to meet test and training objectives and requirements with scheduling authorities, range resource manager, project manager, test director and/or designated representative.
Eliminate conflicts between air/ground range operations and range resources.

REQUIREMENTS
- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE The incumbent must have obtained training from a military school or equivalent on-the-job training specific to functions of the work unit.
Must have 7 years' experience in the local work unit operations and a minimum of 10 years' experience in air operations, airspace management, or associated activities.
In addition, the Mission Ops Scheduler III must possess the following qualifications: Working knowledge of overall mission, priority assignments, scheduling procedures, and requirements of range users.
Detailed knowledge of range capabilities and limiting factors, operational security constraints, mandatory safety parameters, and support system capability.

The Maintenance Planner performs the following functions:
- Prioritizes any safety concerns and ensures safety protocols are followed in all situations.
- Acts as the liaison between Maintenance and all other departments in the facility.
- Develops and maintains open communications within area of responsibility and supported departments.
- Works to ensure close coordination between EHS, quality, operations, maintenance and engineering to ensure the right work is planned then scheduled to minimize future problems and unplanned downtime.
- Develops detailed Work Order job plans to “Ready to Schedule” status, providing all of the information, kitted parts, tools and methods to support efficient execution of work.
