How You'll Contribute:



A Media Sr Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for the scope, schedule, cost, quality, and client satisfaction of a project throughout its entire lifecycle, from Initiation through Closing phases. However, the PM depends on the help of other people to perform most of the actual activities of the project. A project manager's role is primarily focused around written and verbal communication to all project stakeholders. The PM is responsible for overseeing and performing project management functions on all Broadcast projects, budgets, and scopes. The SPM will act as the person responsible for their assigned projects and have direct control over all project activities. Daily activities include project communications, scheduling, task lists for team participants, managing deliverables from the consulting team, and overseeing the completion of projects. The PM is responsible for completing consulting projects on time, on budget and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction from our customers. Most of this employee's time will be spent managing projects and communicating with all project stakeholders. This person will be helping to constantly improve the established Diversified processes. As the primary interface to the client, the project manager develops a strong long-term relationship. They manage the client relationship, including expectations, communications, and satisfaction.

What You'll Do:





  • Provides clear leadership and ownership for the project within Diversified, including accurate and timely verbal and written communication and follow up.

  • Coordinates all activities associated with the timely, accurate and on-budget completion of the project, including engaging stakeholders, delegating responsibilities clearly and running client and internal project meetings.

  • Provides support and assistance to team members as needed in order help them be successful and get the job done.

  • Ensures appropriate and frequent communication between stakeholders.

  • Resolves destructive conflict.

  • Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams regarding Media and Entertainment's consulting projects

  • Assumes ownership of individual projects and assignments

  • Establishes and maintains communication with Account Executives, Directors, internal and external consultants and subject matter experts, clients, etc.

  • Develops and communicates project updates as required.

  • Provides constant monitoring of labor budgets.

  • Provides and/or directs technical and administrative support to project team members. Develops and maintains all related project schedules.

  • Coordinates all deliverable documentation between all internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate and directs document reviews to assure proper documentation is delivered to the client. Provides punch-list of remaining tasks after substantial completion.

  • Contracts with contractors when necessary.

  • Monitors status of projects including cost, timing, and staffing to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.

  • Ensure quality and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinates transition of projects to later phase project teams.



Complexity:



Every project is different, and project stakeholders are different. The SPM needs to negotiate a very complex set of variables between discovery, analysis, conceptual design, and a widely varying set of expectations with multiple stakeholders. The skill of communicating both verbally and in writing to manage all these variables takes a very high level of awareness, emotional intelligence, and people management skills. The PM is constantly managing the forces of change in every project environment. Balancing schedules, budgets, scope, quality, and client satisfaction are a very complex set of variables.

  • Takes full ownership of project



    • Acts as the single point of responsibility and accountability for the project.

    • Ensures schedule performance, quality of solution delivered to client, and client satisfaction.

    • Manages and reports on the project's financials, including ensuring budget performance and profitability. Ensure timely and correct billings to client.

    • Demonstrates proactivity, responsiveness, and follow through.



  • Communicates decision options to stakeholders and manages those decisions.

  • Manages a complex array of decisions at every point of the project but is rarely the sole decision maker.



Physical Demands:



The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The employee will experience normal office conditions and be required to use office equipment such as computers, peripherals, etc.



Travel:



Some travel by car and occasional airplane trips should be expected as much of our consulting work is conducted remotely with occasional in-person meetings. Employee must possess a valid driver's license in their state of residence. Employee will be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate. 10% remote travel is not unusual.



Safety:



When meeting a client in person, Diversified requires PMs to ensure the team is conducting themselves in a safe manner and adheres to our site visit requirements. This may include:





  • Maintain and wear appropriate PPE as the job and tasks require it.

  • Ensure hazards are addressed and rectified in a timely manner.

  • Participate in incident investigations and reporting.

  • Conduct safety walk-throughs on project sites.

  • Prepare safety paperwork as needed including but not limited to JSA, and Site safety Plans.



What do we require from you?



Education/Certifications:





  • A PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is desired.

  • Other relevant certifications may be required or preferred based on the technology focus of the position. This includes Certified Scrum Master (CSM), demonstrated knowledge of Agile project management, software project management, program management, organizational change, management, and possibly cloud technologies.



Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills:





  • 5+ years of experience as a project manager in media technology projects, especially in consulting.

  • Knowledgeable of broadcast operations and technologies.

  • Comfortable with hardware and software-based solutions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Supervisory and people skills.

  • Ability to manage design/build projects for the Media business unit when not managing consulting projects.

  • The Project Manager shall have the ability and skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical, political and people related problems.

  • Understanding of TCP/IP routing, ACL's, QoS, VLAN's and Wireless Access Points.

  • Certified Scrum Master = a definite plus.

  • Proven track record of successfully completing engineering projects.

  • A clear understanding of project phases Program, Conceptualization, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction and Commissioning.

Position description

The Fung Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturer positions in Design and Technology Innovation should an opening arise. We seek candidates that have experience to teach a 3-unit fall and/or spring course for undergraduates who have been selected for the Fung Fellowship for Technology Innovations, a one-year program that develops leadership, teaming, storytelling, technology innovation, and human centered design. This lecturer pool has been generated in case of need for teaching for two courses: (1) Health + Tech Innovations course and (2) Conservation + Tech Innovations course. The number of positions may vary from semester to semester, depending upon the teaching needs of the School.



Candidates with a background in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply: Public Health, Conservation, Sustainability, Innovation, Design, Other health-technology, Human centered design, Student directed learning, Participatory design, Inclusive teaming and leadership, Experiential learning methods.



Teaching Responsibilities: We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach a design, project based course for the Fung Fellowship for Technology Innovations at the undergraduate level. The Fung Fellowship brings together students from diverse backgrounds and majors to develop technology solutions to address societal challenges facing our most marginalized populations.



General Duties: Curriculum development and teaching that involves an experiential approach to participatory learning that includes community engagement and innovative problem-solving. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include: hold office hours, assign grades, advise students, support community and industry partnerships and other opportunities for students, prepare course materials (e.g., syllabus) and maintain the course website with support from the graduate student instructor (GSI).

The Engineering Leader is responsible for leading the Design Engineering organization across the company and ensuring consistent, high-quality, and profitable project delivery.   • Serve as the senior escalation point for engineering-related issues impacting project delivery or client satisfaction, intervening when projects are off track and guiding recovery plans with responsible managers.

Required Skills and Experience





  • Bachelor Degree Required, preferably in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in systems integration, audiovisual engineering, or a related technical field with progressive leadership responsibility.

  • 3+ years of experience managing managers or leading large, multi-project technical teams.

  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
    Demonstrated success improving team performance and delivering measurable business results.

  • Experience developing, implementing, and enforcing engineering standards and processes at scale.

  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from design through commissioning.

Legal & Regulatory Compliance 

  • Advise Farm Bureau staff and members on federal, state, and local laws governing natural resources, including land use, water rights, endangered species, forestry, and energy development. 
  • Interpret and apply environmental statutes such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and other relevant regulations. 
  • Assist Farm Bureau and it’s members with the knowledge to obtaining permits, approvals, and licenses related to agricultural or conservation activities. 
  • Provide legal analysis on regulatory proposals impacting agricultural operations. 

 

Litigation & Dispute Resolution 

  • Represent the organization and its members in administrative proceedings, agency actions, and litigation involving natural resource and environmental issues. 
  • Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, comment letters, and other legal documents. 
  • Support or lead negotiation of settlements, consent agreements, and compliance resolutions. 

 

Policy & Advocacy Support 

  • Partner closely with the policy advocacy team to evaluate proposed legislation, rulemakings, and regulatory changes. 
  • Prepare legal analysis that informs Farm Bureau advocacy positions. 
  • Offer strategic guidance on issues affecting water management, land use planning, wildlife impacts, energy development, air quality, and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Help establish and refine post workflows between Production, Editorial, GFX, and Finishing, while

modeling exceptional work habits and professional standards that elevate the team and create a

clear example for others to learn from

• Conform and online locked sequences in Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve

• Execute precise frame rate conversions (23.976 / 24 / 29.97 / 59.94 / 60) and multi-aspect ratio

versioning without cadence or sync errors

• Integrate color passes, HDR trims (when applicable), audio mixes (stereo & 5.1), graphics, rating tags,

and localization elements into final masters

• Manage retimes, interpolation, mixed-frame-rate timelines, and high-quality up-res (HD ? UHD)

workflows

• Perform meticulous QC of picture, audio, graphics, captions, and legal copy prior to delivery

• Build and output broadcast, digital, HDR, and social deliverables across multiple specs

• Prep and turnover projects for external vendors including color houses, Flame artists, CG/VFX teams,

and audio mixers

• Manage high-res relinks, EXR workflows, and VFX pulls

• Coordinate with Graphics, Capture, and Production teams to ensure assets are delivered in correct

specs and timelines

• Troubleshoot codec, color space (Rec.709 / Rec.2020), gamma, frame rate, scaling, and conform

issues across departmentsQualifications / Skills

• Extremely detail-oriented with strong QC instincts

• Genuine interest in how emerging technologies intersect with and evolve traditional broadcast

standards and delivery specs

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere

• Strong working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve (conforming, relinking, high-res workflows, color prep,

HDR fundamentals)

• Expert-level understanding of frame rate standards, motion cadence, pulldown, and interpolation

artifacts

• Proven experience managing mixed-frame-rate projects and high-quality scaling/up-res workflows

• Deep understanding of file-based HD and 4K workflows

• Experience working within HDR workflows (HDR10 / Dolby Vision) including SDR trim awareness and

delivery considerations

• Experience prepping projects for color correction, Flame, CG vendors, and audio post

• Comfortable managing EXR, ProRes, DNx, H264, and other professional codecs

• Experience with VFX workflows, comping, motion graphics integration, and multi-pass versioning

• Understanding of broadcast delivery standards and surround sound workflows (5.1)

• Ability to manage mixed frame rates, aspect ratios, and platform specifications

• General interest in gaming, entertainment, and pop culture is a huge plus.

How You'll Contribute:



The Design Engineer (DE) is a contributing member of the core project team for Faith & Performance projects. The DE supports projects through the lifecycle from sales concept and design development to construction drawings and implementation support. Working under the guidance of a Senior Design Engineer or Project Engineering leadership, the DE assists in translating client needs and system requirements into coordinated technical designs and documentation.



The DE collaborates with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed and is responsible for producing accurate drawings, layouts, and supporting documentation in accordance with project standards. The DE contributes to equipment selection and bill of materials development, subject to review and approval by senior engineering staff.



What You'll Do:





  • Contributor for complex engagements and works directly with Account Executives, clients, project teams and other DE's to develop specifications, designs, budgets, timelines and manage expectations.

  • Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements. Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of live performance solutions (concert audio, cinematic multi-cam, theatrical stage lighting, house lighting, production IT, intercom, etc).

  • Develop Faith and Performance project estimates, Bill of Materials (BOM), Bid Response submissions, and project agreements in partnership with the Sales Engineer and Proposal Manager

  • Create Sketchup Models that assist in communicating concepts to the client in the early steps of the sales engagement, as well as being used as the basis for other design deliverables through manufacturers such as loudspeaker systems, camera plots, and house lighting designs

  • DE may have client interaction and contribute to the P and L performance.

  • Project lifecycle is important and learning the standards our clients are comfortable with is just as important as selling new technology and solutions where they fit. The position bears the responsibility to assist in developing long lasting client partnerships alongside the Sales Engineers & work with team members to maintain the account on all levels.

  • Maintains expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars and educational forums. May author articles and/or analyze trends.

  • Attend appropriate manufacturer trainings, attend or lead lunch and learns and continue online education

Required Skills/Qualifications:





  • 4+ years of professional live audio or video production experience as end user in relevant field

  • Candidates should possess a good understanding of production system technologies with demonstrated specialization in at least one of the major disciplines - concert audio, broadcast video, and/or stage lighting

  • Ability to understand, synthesize and create AV system designs

  • Understanding of TCP/IP routing, QoS, VLAN's and Wireless Access Points

  • Proficient in MS Office 365 and Apple Pages

  • Proficient in MS Excel and similar quoting tools (D-Tools, Jetbuilt, etc) for quote creation.

  • A thorough, demonstrable understanding of the construction process, installation and integration as well as architectural and construction drawings and specifications



Preferred Skills/Qualifications:





  • Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast technology, equipment, facilities, and production systems used in the Media and Entertainment / Broadcast industry. Formats include high-definition, UHD and HDR video systems deployed using analog, SDI and SMPTE 2110 IP transport protocols.
