Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. Collaborates with resident and family, other inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers, to plan, implement and evaluate care. Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting. Cares for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Responsible for the coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education and various other nursing interventions.
May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to license and unlicensed assistive personnel that are within the job descriptions, skills, resident care needs, and the competence level of the delegate. Provides adequate assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolution of care and service concerns. Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure. The Sanford Professional Nursing Practice recognizes the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association as the foundation of nursing care delivery and professional conduct.
Qualifications
Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a
minimum of 400 hours of experience as a RN (or LPN) at another facility.
Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state, or states, of practice. Nurses performing nursing practice over
the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Certification may be required depending
on specialty or service area.

Job Description:
As a member of our claims team, utilize your knowledge of Workers Compensation to independently investigate, evaluate and resolve assigned claims of a more complex nature in order to achieve appropriate outcomes. In this position you will administer and resolve highest risk management expectations claims in a timely manner in accordance with legal statues, policy provisions, and company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Promptly investigate all assigned claims with minimal supervision, including those of a more complex nature
- Determine coverage, compensability, potential for subrogation recovery, and second injury fund (when applicable)
- Alert Supervisor and Special Investigations Unit to potentially suspect claims
- Ensure timely denial or payment of benefits in accordance with jurisdictional requirements
- Establish appropriate reserves with documented rationale, maintain and adjust reserves over the life of the claim to reflect changes in exposure
- Negotiate claims settlements with client approval
- Establish and implement appropriate action plans for case resolution including medical and disability management, litigation management, negotiation and disposition
- Work collaboratively with PMA nurse professionals to develop and execute return to work strategies
- Select and manage service vendors to achieve appropriate balance between allocated expense and loss outcome
- Maintain a working knowledge of jurisdictional requirements and applicable case law for each state serviced
- Demonstrate technical proficiency through timely, consistent execution of best claim practices
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with internal and external parties on a wide variety of claims and account issues
- Provide a high degree of customer service to clients, including face to face interactions during claims reviews, stewardship meetings and similar account-specific sessions
- Authorize treatment based on the practiced protocols established by statute or the PMA Managed Care department
- Assist PMA clients by suggesting panel provider information in accordance with applicable state statutes.
- Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.

• Utilize Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and jurisdictional resources to research site and zoning information
• Review jurisdiction ordinances and regulations to support Land Use Planners in determining zoning compliance
• Track and monitor permitting timelines and proactively follow up with jurisdictions to support project progress.
• Communicate with municipal development departments (planning, building, right-of-way, etc.), consultants, and internal teams to coordinate application requirements and provide project updates.
• Responsibilities include preparing and submitting jurisdictional applications, maintaining project tracking systems, conducting regulatory research, and supporting the overall permitting workflow.
• Prepare daily FedEx, certified mail, and standard mail submissions related to permitting documentation
• Scan, organize, title, notate, and upload project documentation into internal systems and client databases to maintain accurate records
• Participate in client deployment calls and internal project coordination meetings
• Shadow the Land Use Planners at public hearings
DO YOU BRING?
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational ability
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, while being adaptable with the evolving project priorities, processes and market changes.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to follow up on tasks and project requirements
• Problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Exposure to zoning or permitting documentation preferred
• Administrative or project coordination experience preferred
• Experience reviewing real property documents such as leases or easements preferred
• College degree preferred
