The Nurse Educator is a clinical practitioner who possesses advanced skill and expertise in nursing care and education. The Nurse Educator plans, creates, and facilitates mandatory and non-mandatory education classes for nurses. The Nurse Educator works with departments and units to identify ways to fulfill training needs. The Nurse Educator is responsible for the onboarding of Patient Care Services employees. The Nurse Educator will take an active role in Shared Governance at Wellstar MCG Health.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Educational Assessment: Partners with departments and units to identify training needs and competency requirements. Designs training curricula to fulfill needs and collaborates with leadership to refine training objectives and delivery. Conducts annual educational needs assessments and builds year-long program plans to fill education gaps.
Training Delivery: Facilitates training courses for nurses. Provides feedback to trainees, as appropriate. Works in collaboration with other nursing educators to enhance delivery quality and streamline efforts
Quality of Care: Maintains cooperative relationships and supports healthy work environment concepts. Fosters a collaborative work environment for nurses, physicians, and other care providers who are part of the multidisciplinary care delivery team. Sustains a culture of inquiry and excellence in clinical nursing and ensures excellent implementation of care delivery.
Plans and organizes onboarding education of Patient Care Services employees throughout the year providing them a beginning knowledge base to become successful Wellstar MCG Health employees.

Salary range:
A reasonable estimate for this position is $4,000 to $6,000 per course. Instructor compensation is determined by course length, number of units, enrollment, budgetary considerations, and other factors.
Percent time:
Part-time temporary appointments are offered by agreement on a course-by-course basis.
Anticipated start:
Classes are expected to begin in August for the fall term and January for the spring term.

The Opportunity
The College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for multiple full-time, 9-month, non-tenure earning faculty positions in the Department of Nursing Systems at the rank instructor or lecturer. The selected candidates will primarily teach in the online RN-BSN program, and other online courses in our graduate programs, as qualified. The positions will be located on the UCF Academic Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona and are expected to start Fall 2026. The appropriate rank (i.e. instructor, associate instructor, senior instructor, lecturer, associate lecturer, or senior lecturer) will be determined based upon the selected candidates' credentials and prior experience.
The selected candidates will work collaboratively with colleagues, remain actively involved in professional organizations, and actively participate in College of Nursing faculty governance.

Partner closely with Emergency Department and Transport CNSs, nurse leaders, and interprofessional teams to advance evidence-based practice, clinical excellence, and patient safety.
Support nursing practice in a fast-paced academic environment delivering advanced emergency, trauma, stroke, STEMI, ECPR, and critical care transport services across the region.
Serve as a clinical education resource and mentor, collaborating with Nurse Residency educators when applicable and promoting professional growth across emergency and transport nursing teams.
Participate in organization-wide initiatives, shared governance, and system education efforts while completing assigned Nursing Education Specialist responsibilities aligned with UW Health priorities.
