- Good communication skills to collaborate with community partners and work with an interdisciplinary team.
- Reliable Vehicle and Driver's License

Responsible for planning, assessing, intervening, co-coordinating and providing direct patient care by utilizing critical thinking skills.
Communicates with physicians, ancillary care-givers, patients and families regarding the patient’s plan of care.
Fulfill the responsibility of holistic (body, mind and spirit) nursing care based on the mission, vision and values of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center.
Performs assessments including physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs.

7:00 pm – 7:30 am; every third weekend and holiday rotation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree in nursing required
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Current Iowa RN license, (current Illinois (IL) license if working in IL) required.
4. Labor/Delivery experience preferred.
5. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
6. Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
7. PALS certification required within one year of hire date.
8. NRP required within 6 months of hire.
9. EFM certification preferred. If not certified, required within one year of starting Labor and Delivery orientation.

Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Technicians/Assistants, and other team members, while ensuring clear communication with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary team. As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members. Essential Functions:
Conducts assessment
Identifies patient problems and develops plan of care
Implements outcome/goal - based plan of care
Evaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal - based plan as needed
Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals
Demonstrates clinical competence
Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable
Provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit
Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Schedule:
Day Shift; 12 hours one week, 24 hours the second week
RNs work 12-hour shifts
Day shift: 6:00 am – 6:30 pm, Night shift: 6:00 pm – 6:30 am
Weekend and holiday rotation
This unit self-schedules. Schedules are 6-week bocks
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing required

Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
