The Financial Administrator is responsible for assisting with the financial operations of a department or unit, interpreting, advising, and disseminating financial policies and procedures; ensuring that unit accounting practices and procedures follow Institute guidelines and recommending improvements to unit procedures. This role assists in the preparation of unit budgets and reports and in implementing accounting and office controls.

Job Duty 1 -
Within an academic or research unit, develop and prepare financial data related to proposals, grants and contracts, general appropriations, endowments, and other funds.

Identify training needs and deliver training to departmental faculty and staff as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of and skill in applying accounting principles and practices within a university business environment is preferred: sponsored research budgeting, accounting, purchasing, closeout, and subaward process.

• Workday and OneUSG, proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Advanced knowledge of and skill in applying accounting principles and practices within a university business environment is preferred.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for unit leadership and Project Investigators, with a strong emphasis on sponsored grant reporting, to provide accurate data for decision-making while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulations.
• Provide comprehensive post-award management for sponsored grants and other funding sources, including preparing and submitting budget amendments and subawards for sponsored grants.
• Monitor and track expenditures against budgets to identify discrepancies and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
• Provide high-level support for salary distributions and redistributions in compliance with policy.
• Exercise fiscal approval authority over Workday transactions at the school level.

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge of and skill in applying general accounting principles and practices within a business environment. Additionally required are attention to detail and accuracy, and use of office and specialized accounting-related computer applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

The Laboratory for Synthetic Immunity (LSI) is an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech & Emory School of Medicine. Founded in 2014 by Director Dr. Gabe Kwong, the mission of LSI is to pioneer the next wave of immunotherapies and diagnostics to intercept diseases at an early stage and develop treatments that drive deep responses to meaningfully improve patient outcomes.

We are currently seeking exceptional individuals to join our research group as a Postdoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will be a motivated and creative individual that will pioneer new categories of immune biosensors that leverage design principles from synthetic biology and cell engineering for early cancer detection. They will take a lead role in experimental design, execution of experiments, and interpretation of results to achieve the major objectives of the project.

The Writing and Communication Program (WCP) in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for multiple Lecturer positions, effective August 1, 2026. Lecturers in the Writing and Communication Program teach a 3/3 in writing classes, pursue relevant research, and provide service to the Program and Institute. This is a faculty position with full benefits that is renewable annually. Candidates are expected to demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the teaching and mentoring of students.

Lectures primarily teach first-year writing and technical communication. Courses in our first-year writing program combine the instructors area of research expertise with the commitments to rhetoric, process and multimodality that unites and defines WCP courses.

Preferred candidates for consideration will have:

• At least five years of experience teaching first-year writing and/or technical communication.

• Demonstrated professional commitment to the teaching of writing.
• Demonstrated professional engagement with the scholarship of the teaching of writing.
• Evidence of excellent teaching

We are particularly interested in faculty who have a professional commitment / scholarly expertise in the following areas:

• Technical Communication and Professional Writing
• Writing Program Administration
• Pedagogies of Digital Writing
• Developmental Writing

The salary for this position is $60,000-70,000 per academic year (nine-months).
