Department Information
The Woodruff School graduates high caliber mechanical engineers for a demanding profession. Mechanical engineers are the foundation of todays technological world. To do so, we provide enhanced facilities and laboratories to create the best learning environment and we attract outstanding faculty and students. In this period of rapid technological change, the Woodruff School produces mechanical engineers who are vital to our future.

With approximately 3,000 students, 100 faculty members, and 80 staff members, the Woodruff School is one of the largest mechanical engineering programs in the country. We are consistently ranked as one of the top 10 mechanical engineering programs in the U.S. at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and continuously innovate to keep our school at the forefront of engineering education. Our size and resources allow us to offer a diversity of educational and research opportunities that enable us to produce highly sought after engineering professionals.

Plan and administer the academic advising processes within a college or school. Areas supervised include recruitment, curriculum planning, registration requirements, monitoring student progress and recordkeeping. May include services provided to both undergraduate and graduate students. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, academic advising staff, students, parents. This position typically will advise and counsel: academic advising staff, students, parents. This position will supervise: Academic Advisor staff.

Job Duty 1 -
Oversee and participate directly in advising students regarding administrative and academic issues

Review and approve student and curriculum related actions (e.g. change of major, course drop and withdrawal degree petitions, etc.)

The Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University has a student body of 1,200 undergraduates, 260 graduate students, and 70 primary and 73 program faculty. The Accounting Specialist is responsible for maintaining records, documents, and financial data that encompass a variety of financial activities, typically including fund accounts, payroll and benefits, accounts reconciliation, and similar supporting functions The associate also performs professional accounting work and other duties as assigned

Job Duty 1 - Research and ensure appropriate fund accounting procedures have been followed for compliance with Federal and State laws and university policy

Public Services

The Public Services department provides 24/7 support to the Georgia Tech Library community. The team is responsible for staffing the INFO Desk, chat, phone, Gadgets office, and ticket support for anyone needing Library assistance. The team is the first line of support for Library inquiries and is deeply involved in the service provisions of the library. Public Services is also responsible for Gadgets, the Georgia Tech Library's equipment lending service.

Responsible for library customer support (in person and electronic) which includes: providing assistance with myriad library services, providing bibliographic instruction and referrals, assistance with accessing library content and shared resources, providing user account management, and assisting with various technologies. Provides access and reference services support to GT library patrons, including fulfillment, reference, and multimedia. Job Duty 1 - Proactively engaging and assisting library users in obtaining requested materials. Answers Customer Support Tickets. The Electrical Integrator L1 will provide technical support to program managers, project directors, task leads, and senior-level Electrical Integrators. The Electrical Integrator L1 will help with basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical cables, circuits, and assemblies.

This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty and staff project/task leaders, technical leads, contractors, and vendors

Job Duty 1 -
Support program managers, project directors, and task leads with basic electrical assembly work such as cable assembly fabrication, and electrical chassis fabrication and assembly

Job Duty 2 -
Assist with basic testing and troubleshooting of circuits and systems

Job Duty 3 -
Assist with kitting parts using a Bill of Materials or other online inventory tools

Job Duty 4 -
Support other work teams, as needed, with skills such as mechanical assembly, welding, metal work, drafting, parts inventory, and technical documentation

Job Duty 5 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or two years college course work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a Research Engineer II position. This role supports sponsored research in the modeling and simulation of turbulent reacting multiphase flows in propulsion and power systems.

The successful candidate will conduct high-fidelity computational research using Large Eddy Simulation (LES) and Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) to investigate complex turbulent reacting flows in aerospace propulsion applications, including gas turbines, scramjets, and liquid rocket systems. Research activities are closely aligned with externally funded projects and include simulation development, model validation, data analysis, reporting, and dissemination of results.

This is a full-time research faculty appointment contingent upon sponsored funding.

Research Engineer II

• Conduct high-fidelity LES and DNS simulations of geometrically complex turbulent reacting flows relevant to propulsion and power systems

• Develop, implement, and validate computational models and numerical methods within specialized research codes

• Optimize and execute simulation cases on advanced high-performance computing platforms

• Process, analyze, and interpret large simulation datasets

• Support sponsored research deliverables, including milestone reporting and technical documentation

• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at technical conferences

• Contribute to proposal development and expansion of externally funded research programs

• Assist in mentoring graduate students and supporting broader research program activities

• A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
• A Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering , and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
• A Doctoral degree.
  

• Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field

• Demonstrated expertise in turbulence modeling, LES, and DNS

• Experience developing, validating, and implementing subfilter/subgrid-scale models

• Strong background in high-performance computing (HPC), including massively parallel computing on large-scale heterogeneous systems

• Experience with CFD code development and optimization for multi-core architectures and GPU-accelerated platforms

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Fortran, C, and MATLAB

• Experience with advanced data processing and large-scale simulation post-processing

• Record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations in fluid dynamics, combustion, or related fields

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment and communicate technical results effectively
