Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or animal research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of animal housing and equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.

The College of Computing has been a leader in defining modern computing as a paradigm that combines the foundations of theoretical mathematics and information science, the force of invention in computational systems and processes, and interdisciplinary practice that integrates innovation in computing with all facets of life. The College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the School of Computer Science for the Atlanta campus located in midtown Atlanta, Georgia. The Chair will have the opportunity to build upon the success of the School and the College of Computing. The school has 3 PhD programs in ACO, Computer Science, and Machine Learning as well as Masters and Bachelor degrees which are managed by the College. The School of Computer Science is a leader in the following areas of specialization: Computer Architecture, Data Systems and Analytics, Foundations of Artificial Intelligence, Networking, Programming Languages and Compilers, Software Engineering, Systems, and Theory. The school has academic faculty, endowed chairs, research faculty, postdocs, adjunct faculty, and classified staff along with several research centers.

Reporting to the Dean of the College of Computing, the Chair has overall responsibility for the academic and research programs in the School of Computer Science specifically focusing on all budgetary, administrative, academic, fiscal, and personal decisions in conjunction with the mission and goals of the College and Georgia Tech. The chair must have a forward-thinking strategic vision and the appropriate skills to lead a group of faculty and staff. Additionally, the Chair will provide overall leadership for all the school's teaching and research components at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Chair should establish collaborative and interdisciplinary relationships with others Computing School Chairs, with other leaders in the College, as well as all internal and external constituents at Georgia Tech and abroad. They must be able to build successful partnerships with executive leaders at Georgia Tech. External affairs, community engagement, and industry relationships should also be primary goals for the incoming Chair. Department Information
A Research Technician I position is available in Dr. Liang Han's laboratory in the School of Biological Sciences. Dr. Han's group uses a combination of molecular, cellular, immunohistochemical, fluorescence imaging and mouse behavioral approaches to understand how the nervous system receives, transmits and interprets various stimuli to induce physiological and behavioral responses. Research in the lab is focusing on sensory neurons mediating pain, itch sensation and inflammatory respiratory diseases. The technician in the lab will have opportunities to learn techniques in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience field.

Daily responsibilities include:

* Taking care of mouse colonies and genotyping transgenic mouse lines.

* Participating in experiments such as primary neuron culture, live cell calcium imaging, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, and mouse behavioral tests.

* Laboratory management includes placing orders, reimbursements, interface with vendors, equipment maintenance and upkeep, laboratory organization and upkeep, and compliance with safety regulations.

Previous experience handling transgenic mouse lines and genotyping is desired. But candidates without those experiences are acceptable.

Job Duty 1 -
Assign and inspect custodial/housekeeping work and related projects/activities to maintain unit/facility cleanliness levels and appearance

Job Duty 2 -
Perform specialized cleaning operations necessary to ensure unit/facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner

Job Duty 3 -
Maintain supply inventory necessary to successfully perform routine and detailed custodial services

Job Duty 4 -
Respond to system-transmitted service requests

Job Duty 5 -
Transport custodial employees to and from work assignments, as necessary

Job Duty 6 -
Operate and/or maintain assigned power equipment related to custodial services, as required

Perform other duties as assigned

Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Job Duty 1 -
Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.

Job Duty 2 -
Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.

Job Duty 3 -
Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.

Job Duty 4 -
May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.

Job Duty 5 -
Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

• Architect and deploy the projects interactive software, with robust stability for public use.

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Required Experience
Up to two years of job related experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Minimum 1 year experience conducting HCI projects to ensure public-facing usability.
• At least 2 years of professional Python coding experience for stable, production-ready architecture in computer vision.
• Unique expertise in hardware-software integration (Python) and translating complex research into intuitive, accessible, and high-performance digital experiences.
