Position Summary
A second-level support role involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues that have been escalated from the first level of support. This role requires advanced knowledge of hardware, software, and networks. Key responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting, managing escalated tickets, providing technical guidance to junior staff, and documenting solutions.
The Helpdesk Technician – Tier II plays a crucial role within the Help Desk, acting as a critical escalation point. This role is instrumental in driving operational excellence by ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and providing a high-touch customer experience. Additionally, the Helpdesk Technician – Tier II collaborates seamlessly with the Infrastructure team to optimize the end-user technology ecosystem and maintain business continuity across the company.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot complex issues by diagnosing, resolving or providing root-cause analysis of incidents across complex hardware, software, and network platforms.
- Receive, prioritize, and manage support ticket workflows in the ITSM systems, ensuring alignment with SLA/OLA thresholds and proactive communication with departments regarding service impacts.
- Document solutions by creating and maintaining detailed documentation of all technical issues, steps taken, and resolutions to build a knowledge base to reduce repeat incident volume.
- Participate in problem management initiatives, identifying systemic issues and recommending strategic solutions to reduce incident recurrence.
- Partner with Tier 1 Technicians to mentor, reinforce knowledge transfer around emerging technologies and best practices while improving the overall team's efficiency.
- Identify and escalate critical or unresolved issues to Level 3 support, providing detailed handover information.
- Support on-site and remote workforce environments, ensuring seamless user experience across hybrid, multi-site, and distributed operating models.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of Help Desk support experience, with at least 1–2 years in a Tier II capacity within an enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server/Client OS (e.g., Windows, Linux, macOS), Active Directory, Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID, software applications (e.g., M365/Microsoft Office), cloud service platform (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop/ AVD), network fundamentals (e.g., DHCP, DNS, VPN) and standard enterprise management tools (ServiceNow, NinjaOne).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of complex issues while using remote access tools.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Focused mindset on delivering value-added engagement with end users at all touchpoints.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and pivot rapidly in a dynamic support landscape while maintaining quality of service.

- Associate degree from an accredited institution with 3+ years of Help Desk experience OR
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, with 5+ years of Help Desk experience can be substituted for a degree

The Quality Manager is responsible for Quality Systems, Quality Engineering, and Quality Control for Vantedge’s Sheet Metal Manufacturing business (Vander-Bend Manufacturing) in Stockton, CA. This position has overall departmental responsibilities, interfaces with Customers and Suppliers regarding quality processes and improvements. The role has overall responsibility and
accountability for Product Quality, Compliance, and Continual Improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Quality Engineering group, direct QEs to improve processes and collaborate with other departments. Use statistical techniques to detect negative trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the Quality Control group, direct inspectors to detect and resolve product quality issues on the production floor.
- Develop department inspection capabilities and efficiencies.
- Be VOC (Voice of Customer) in VDB internal communications.
- Advise customers of metal processing capabilities, including welding validation, for a successful realization of customers’ needs.
- Review and revise work orders, and identification of inspection checks.
- Create and/or review operating procedures, quality procedures and manufacturing
- practices, to include sheet metal joining and welding validation, as needed.
- Develop QMS documentation under the guidance of the Vice President of Quality.
- Initiate/attend meetings with customers for continuous product/process improvement/cost reductions.
- Manage customer returns/complaints, non-conforming product/defective material, including MRB. Oversee the necessary steps to disposition and initiate corrective action when warranted.
- Work with all departments to ensure they have a true understanding of manufacturing quality and its application.
- Under the guidance of the Vice President of Quality, maintain compliance to ISO 13485 (including ISO 14971, Application of risk management to medical devices) and ISO 9001 standards.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities needed to improve quality and compliance.
Requirements:
- 10 years in Metal Manufacturing (machining, forming, punching, welding, etc.) or similar industrial sector.
- 5 years of progressive experience in Inspection and quality.
- 5 Years of experience with people management.
- Familiar with QA/QC systems.
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and 13485 Quality Management System, its implementation, and the creation of operating procedures and work instructions.
- General Inspection knowledge, including design of fixtures, inspection tools, methodology, mechanical design, metrology.
- Strong background in manufacturing including but not limited to machining, sheet metal, plating, painting.

Job Summary

The School of Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) at GA Tech is seeking to hire a Research Engineer (Open Rank) to serve as a Product Manager. CSE is enhancing our impact on the Georgia Tech ecosystem through new programs that help students become better Research Software Engineers. With this increased capacity, we will amplify the impact of research conducted by Georgia Tech's scientific community. We are expanding our team of 6 professional software engineers (with varying degrees of industry experience) to include a Product Manager who is excited about working in a highly dynamic and research-oriented environment.

The College of Computing (CoC) at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) invites applications and nominations for two inaugural Krishna A. Bharat Professorships in Computational Journalism, at its campus in Atlanta, Georgia. The Bharat Professorships will further research and innovation that focuses on information access in the public sphere, exploring responsible, civic-minded approaches to computational journalism and civic technologies broadly. The chair is endowed by Krishna Bharat, a Georgia Tech doctoral alumnus in computer science and the founder of Google News.
The scope of this search is not limited to journalism as conventionally defined. Technology Services Organization (TSO) at Georgia Institute of Technology is seeking to hire a Research Technologist I to Work with the TSO research team in the technical support of research activity within the College of Computing.
This is a hybrid working position.
Responsibilities
Work with the TSO research team in the technical support of research activity, including:
- Provide point of contact and customer interface regarding TSO's support of college research technology resources.
- Work with faculty, researchers and graduate students with the acquisition, research, development and implementation of research resources, and integration of advanced technologies involving work in research data center and lab environments.
- Work with Research Lab Managers in support of strategic research facilities.
- Manage technical problems, requests, and projects to assure quick resolution, best practices, and excellent customer service.
- Coordinate the provisioning of OIT and TSO services to meet faculty and student needs.
- Implement large-scale, automated approaches to operating system and configuration management and control of systems and HPC resources.
- Implement CoC technical plans, infrastructure, policies and procedures in research facilities.
- Monitor and maintain the general health and life cycle of research systems.
- Implement Institute computing and networking security policies and procedures, as well as develop written internal computing and networking policies and documentation.
- Develop and coordinate technical aspects of research grant proposals.

- Linux systems administration experience, preferably in a heterogeneous environment that includes Linux/UNIX, Mac OS X, and Windows client systems accessing physical and virtual Linux servers.
- Knowledge of Linux server installation and administration, system monitoring, hardware maintenance and troubleshooting, configuration and patch management, virtualization, containerization, private cloud, storage solutions, IP networking concepts, information security, identity and access management, and backup & recovery.

Job Summary
The Contracting Officer-Sponsored Programs role will review, process, approve, negotiate, and administer assigned sponsored proposals and awards, which may include governmental, industry, non-U.S. and/or not-for-profit funding of grants, contracts, and other sponsored agreements and donations in
the support of research. Provide services and guidance to faculty and research staff. Review, analyze, and interpret new awards terms and conditions.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Analyze solicitations and review proposals to ensure proposals are complete and compliant with Institute policies, agency regulations, and solicitation requirements. Review sign any required Institute Representations and Certifications.
Job Duty 2 -
Identify proposal risks and review mitigation strategies with management. Submit all assigned, approved, compliant proposals prior to deadlines.
Job Duty 3 -
Review and interpret sponsored agreement language. Resolve contractual issues, negotiating contract changes, and executing agreements on behalf of the Institute's research corporations with an approved corporation officer.
Job Duty 4 -
Provide Post award administration. Monitor administration of awarded sponsored projects and serve as contact for all business/contractual matters throughout life cycle of sponsored program awards. Resolve issues brought forward by researchers and unit administrators. Prepare business correspondence and notices required by award terms.
Job Duty 5 -
Maintain current working knowledge of applicable federal regulations, state laws, Institute policies, and sponsor requirements.
Job Duty 6 -
Advise faculty, project directors and financial and administrative staff on proposal submission process, post award administration, regulatory compliance requirements and Institute policy, coordinating with other units supporting research including Conflict of Interest, Research Integrity Assurance, Research Security, Export Control, Corporate Engagement, Technology Licensing, and the Georgia Tech Office of Legal Affairs.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card.
Required Experience
Three or more years of job-related experience

- JD or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience
- Experience in addressing contracting issues in Non-Disclosure Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements, and Data Use Agreements at various stages of the sponsored program life cycle.
- Experience in identifying industry-specific contracting concerns across a wide variety of industries; solution-oriented in addressing those concerns.
- Experience identifying common research compliance issues (e.g. export, human subjects research, intellectual property management, data storage and handling) and working with colleagues across campus to address and manage those issues in industry contracts.

KNOWLEDGE
This job requires broad knowledge of sponsored contract and grant administration policies and regulations, which may include those specific to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), 2 CFR 200, Bayh-Dole Act, and specific federal agency requirements including DOD, NSF, DOE, and NIH. Knowledge of different contract types (including Cost Reimbursement, Fixed Priced, Time and Material, Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity, Other Transaction Agreements, etc.) and terms applicable to sponsored research is preferred.
SKILLS
Excellent customer service skills to address issues and problems effectively and professionally in a compliance-driven, high-pressure environment. Exemplary reading comprehension and logical reasoning skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proactive decision-making and problem-solving skills to respond to high-pressure situations. Skills related to the use of office equipment and specialized computer applications and systems.
