· Performs in-person interrogation and any needed reprogramming on all cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) models of pacemakers, ICDs and Implantable Loop Recorders (ILRs) and documents according to IHC protocols.

· Provides assistance to Electrophysiology (EP) provider in office, and facilitates office schedule.

· Provides guidance on peri-procedural, peri-surgical and MRI device management

· Provides patient and family education and documents in medical records.

· Reads and researches patient records, charts and Practice Manager System for other pertinent information. May dictate history and physical, consults and other professional related letters.

· Reviews and reports pertinent test(s) results, outside examination results and patient symptoms; scrutinize for needed follow-up; communicates to provider.

· Reviews CIED remote transmissions and completes documentation according to IHC protocol.

· Triages phone calls and significant device evaluation findings, gives carries out verbal and written orders according to standing orders or established protocols.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

· All other duties as assigned.

· Attends required meetings and participates on committees as required

· Clinical resource for the Heart Rhythm Center’s Arrhythmia services Technicians.

· Monitors and maintains supplies on crash cart.

· Participates in professional development.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Three years of RN nursing experience required. Two years of critical care experience preferred or clinical cardiac equivalent experience required.

· Current licensure as R.N., state of Iowa or compact state.

· Valid Iowa Driver’s/Chauffeurs License required, must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law.

· Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained by the end of the orientation period (approximately six (6) weeks). Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

· ACLS within 6 months of hire

· Level I Cardiac Arrhythmia class completion within 6 months

· Level II 12 Lead EKG class completion within 1 year

· Level III Advanced 12 Lead EKG class within 18 months

· International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) Cardiac Device Remote Monitor Specialist (CDRMS) certification examination following 1 year following device training, prior to the end of the 3rd year of performing CIED in-office evaluations

· IBHRE Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) certification encouraged following 3 years of CIED follow-up and successful completion of the CDRMS examination with a passing score

We are located in 8 strategic states, AZ, CA, CO, GA, FL, NV, TX, & NC, and engage our community around the most prevalent issues to ensure the construction of a healthy democracy and the advancement of a national Latino progressive agenda. MFV utilizes a variety of strategies to reach our community, including citizenship, door-to-door voter education, registration and mobilization, issue organizing as well as leadership development, advocacy, accountability campaigns, and litigation.

Mi Familia Vota is a 501(c)(4) organization, and Mi Familia Vota Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization.

The State Deputy Director position is a new role in the state that will be vital to increasing our capacity to implement programs and expand our field operations. We are seeking a strong manager to assist with hiring and retention, program planning and execution, external leadership, fiduciary duties, and strengthening our data management and communications. The two key programs and campaigns the deputy director will help us lead (SYCLAC) and grow (Electoral Field programs and campaigns).

  • SYCLAC: Seminario y Capacitación para el Liderazgo y Acción Civica (SYCLAC) is a democracy leadership academy for Spanish-speaking communities. SYCLAC is a four-part workshop series designed to inform and empower Latinos to become more civically engaged in their communities. It trains and equips Latinos to be strong voices within their communities. SYCLAC will be a new program in North Carolina, and the Deputy State Director will work closely with a colleague in Georgia, who leads the same program, to launch it in the Triangle.
  • Electoral Field Programming: 2026 will be a pivotal year in North Carolina, with an ambitious voter registration goal of 8,500 cards—the largest voter registration effort by a Latino-led organization in the state. We also plan to run an Independent Expenditure (IE) campaign in the U.S. Senate and State Supreme Court races, reaching over 40,000 households through door-to-door outreach in Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnson, Alamance, and Mecklenburg. The Deputy State Director will join forces with the NC Civic Engagement Manager and our seasonal Field Manager and Assistant Field Manager to help us scale up the voter registration program and IE campaigns.

Quick Snapshot: In this role, you’ll provide expertise on state legislation, laws, and regulatory actions that impact our members, and deliver presentations to key FMI committees and meetings. You will also engage with state and local industry partners and represent FMI and its members to external stakeholders.


What you’ll do in This Role:

  • Provide research, analysis, and strategic guidance to FMI members, state associations, and staff on priority state government affairs issues.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on pending and enacted state legislation and regulatory activity, as directed by the Vice President of Government Relations, utilizing FMI’s legislative tracking system to assess member impact and compliance requirements.
  • Manage state relationships to benefit FMI’s strategic initiatives, programs, and policies.
  • Identify, report, and collaborate on emerging state public policy initiatives and share findings with the FMI team and committees.
  • Create and run FMI member state legislative working groups and coalitions on key issues as the need arises.
  • Research and prepare information on priority state issues, including developing and drafting policy papers, background documents, and other deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the FMI State Affairs team to build State Retreat and State Regional Legislative Planning agendas and obtain speakers for these meetings.
  • Create and write articles for FMI Government Affairs or other issue-specific newsletters.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members.


The Background and Skills That You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • A college degree and a minimum of seven to ten years of professional work experience in government or government affairs.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working in the food industry, working with state legislatures and regulatory authorities and agencies.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to create presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint, and experience giving presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Must be self-directed with excellent time and project management skills and an ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks with strict attention to detail and with minimal supervision.

  • Assists nurses with assigned tasks, including but not limited to: Measuring and recording vitals; gathering weights, measures and other documentation on the residents; making beds, cleaning closets, organizing and ensuring cleanliness of resident living areas; assisting with new admissions as assigned; assisting in the training and orientation of new staff as assigned.
  • Adheres to the guidelines as outlined in the Resident Rights documentation. Knows resident rights and helps the residents exercise and/or protect their rights. Reports resident complaints to charge nurse or supervisory in charge, maintains confidentiality.
  • Documents resident information timely, accurately and confidentially according to the procedures set forth in the electronic medical record system.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined under the Safety & Compliance policies and procedures. Demonstrates proper use of equipment. Reports equipment needs or repairs.
  • Practices universal precautions. Uses protective equipment, follows infection control protocol standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performs food service functions to include: Preparing residents for meals, serving food, assisting with eating, after meal care, passing snacks and fresh water/ice; recording food/fluid intake, noting changes of eating habits and appropriately reporting.
