The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Inbound: Unload trucks, trailers, containers of freight, counting products, compare to manifest to check all shipments for damage, infestation, or production code dates. Material handlers must report shortages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate forms. Also be able to sign for inbound shipments when necessary. All inbound shipments are moved safely to storage locations to be efficiently stacked as store merchandise.
  • Order Picking: Ensure that the correct product number, quantity, and type (lot, batch, serial number) of product are picked. Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment such as but not limited to fork trucks, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks. Materials handlers must be able to label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, over-pack, and palletize as required.
  • Outbound: Compare quantity, labeling and address with order to ensure out-going shipments are complete and correct. Assign signature for outbound as necessary. Efficiently move product, cartons and or pallets into trailers, rail cars or containers.
  • Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Keep accurate records and reports. Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts. Ensure proper stock rotation. May key inventory adjustments in computer.
  • Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions. Repair and consolidate damaged goods as required. Operate shrink-wrap machine. Charge forklift battery as needed; stack and or separate good from bad pallets when necessary; clean railcars, trailers, and truck docks, bays as requested.

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chemist to support the Environmental Monitoring Laboratory. The successful candidate will perform advanced scientific work with supervisory laboratory analyses responsibility for water and soil pollution investigations including code enforcement. The position requires knowledge of analytical techniques related to the analyses of Nutrients, Organics and/or Metals using highly technical instrumentation to include Gas Chromatograph (GC), Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), Ion Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICPMS) and/or Segmented Flow Analyzers depending on the assigned area. Experience conducting wet chemistry techniques including total suspended solids, pH and turbidity are desirable. Candidates with experience in the analyses of Microbiology samples using IDEXX will be considered. The candidate must have excellent communication and writing skills to complete internal audits, write technical reports including Standard Operating Procedures and conduct detection limit studies using approved methods. The position is required to assist field personnel in sampling events when necessary. Proficient in the use of LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) for data entry, quality control and reporting are preferred. Experienced working under a NELAP certified laboratory as an analyst is highly desirable. This position has emergency responsibilities to support the Public Works and Environmental Services Department in times of emergency activation.

SCOPE OF WORK

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

The position requires knowledge of analytical techniques related to the analyses of nutrients, metals and/or organics in environmental samples, using highly technical instrumentation that includes Ion Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICPMS), Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) and a Segmented Flow Analyzer depending on the assigned area. It also requires knowledge of wet chemistry techniques for the analyses of total suspended solids and turbidity. Candidates with experience analyzing microbiology environmental samples using IDEXX will also be considered. The position requires method development and troubleshooting skills for the instrumentation assigned. NELAP experience is required.

Performs advanced analytical procedures on spectrophotometers and electrode instrumentation.

Prepares reagents for the Chemical Requisition Program for the water and wastewater plants.

Extracts semi-volatile organics samples from water, soil and wastes for Gas Chromatography (GC)/Mass Spectrometry (MS) and GC analysis.

Analyzes the prepared samples for petroleum, herbicides and pesticides. Enters the analytical results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Prepares organics glassware for sample extraction per Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protocols.

Assists with data entry and Quality control (QC) checking for the laboratory. Monitors temperatures for laboratory sample refrigerators for QC purposes.

Receives laboratory samples and enters them into the LIMS.

Assists with test designing for various laboratory methods in the LIMS and fixing errors which occur in test methods.

Assists field personnel in sampling events when necessary.

Assists field inspectors with sampling kits, sampling methods, and associated submission paperwork.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the project, in a role and reporting structure as designated for the project.   • Develop, with the Superintendent, a \"rolling punch list\" of substandard and deficient work items that must be corrected by the company or subcontractors in a timely manner with the goal of achieving a zero-punch list at project completion. Learn what the Owner's needs and expectations are so these areas can be managed and educate the Owner to what he can expect.
  • Oversee the construction and renovation of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, specifically those involved in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
  • Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards, GMP regulations, and FDA guidelines.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to integrate specialized equipment and systems required for API production.
  • Thorough review and understanding of the Owner's contract to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with superiors to ensure proper project staffing.
  • Establishes the overall project's procedures and execution plan.
  • Works with the Superintendent and subcontractors to prepare the overall detailed project schedule. Ensure that the schedule is incorporated into appropriate subcontracts and purchase orders. Work with Superintendent to ensure the schedule is updated a minimum of once a month or more often as necessary. Monitor critical path activities frequently to document and if necessary, intervene to keep project on or ahead of schedule. When project is 90% complete, assist the Superintendent in preparing \"Work Completion Lists\" to help ensure the project is fully completed in a timely manner.
  • Establishes the project document control system to ensure the project is using the most current contract documents for construction. This includes the system to initiate and monitor Request for Information (RFIs) as well as the shop drawing control and management.
  • Responsible for the overall communication and documentation on the project, including the filing system, letters, emails, meeting minutes, correspondence, and all reports.
  • Attend weekly subcontractor meetings and prepare meeting minutes as documentation and follow-up. Involved as participant or lead, according to project responsibility.
  • Staff leadership position for the Owner/Architect meetings with required minutes and documentation.
  • All aspects of cost and profitability management. This includes change orders, internal cost coding, profitability analysis, and all other logs, reports, and tools to review, evaluate, and manage cost expenditures.
  • Approval of subcontractor and vendor billings and invoices for payment after Superintendent has approved.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly billings to the Owner.
  • Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs with Superintendent to maintain budget. Prepare monthly status reports and progress reports.
  • Review safety program being implemented on site with Superintendent to ensure compliance.
  • Develop relationships with Clients for possible repeat business. Participate in business development activities and assist in preparation of proposals and promote productive client relationships.
  • Provide leadership in the professional and career development of subordinates as well as timely and fair performance evaluations. Provide mentoring, training, and development as needed. Maintain effective communication with clients. Understand the client's needs to achieve an acceptable level of satisfaction.

Education and experience:

  • BS/BA degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management.

Duties & Responsibilities


Reporting to the Director of Capital Budget and Contract Control, is responsible for supervising, coordinating and executing the management of multiple capital projects for the Post-Acute Service Line. Supports collaborative development with various business teams and drives process improvements for the successful management of the overall project lifecycle, supporting provision of all deliverables from inception to completion.


Essential Functions

  • Manage all aspects of assigned capital projects from initiation through closeout including but not limited to budgets, schedules procurement and quality control.
  • Work with the facility staff on facility construction projects. Including: scheduling, adherence to job specifications, quality of work placed, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Provides direct supervision and coordination of design consultants and contractors as required by ongoing projects. Including review of design documents, not limited to drawings and specifications, for compliance with Central Office standards, end user programs, facility standards and needs, regulatory agency requirements and codes to ensure the projects are completed within budget and planned schedules.
  • In conjunctions with Director, facilitates RFP processes, and procurement requests including drafting scopes for design RFPs, contractor scopes of work and coordinating consultant responsibilities and tasks.
  • Develops and submits budget reports and variances as required. Assures that adequate funds are budgeted and funds are available. Reviews schedules, budgets, and progress reports and provides regular updates to supervisor and stakeholders.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled site walks and ensure project is in adherence with NYC H+H procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Track project documentation and maintain records in systems such as Kahua.
  • Support invoice review, change order evaluation, and project reporting.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, presentations, and regular status updates.
  • May coordinate additional project administration tasks as required.
