  • Medium level programming skills.

  • Background is Electrical Engineering, Physics or Photonics.
  • Familiar with CMOS image sensor process integration, device physics and optics are good pluses.

KEY TASKS

(1) Support imaging scientists with acquisition of imaging data and conduct research as directed by NIAID involving and related to imaging and artificial intelligence in support of the Integrated Research Facility (IRF) in Frederick, MD

KEY REQUIREMENTS

(1) Ph.D. in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, or image processing. Candidates possessing master’s degree and relevant experience may also be considered.

Role:

The Laboratory Technologist – Imaging and Molecular Biology collaborates with the Laboratory and Medical Directors to perform high-quality, compliant laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and CAP/COLA/CLIA standards. Responsibilities:

Microscopy & Image Analysis

  • Perform tumor cell enumeration and analysis using multi-channel fluorescence imaging
  • Interpret fluorescent images across multiple channels, distinguishing true cellular signals from background, debris, or nonspecific staining
  • Apply standardized enumeration rules and reporting criteria for rare-event detection


Quality & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation of test results and analytical workflows
  • Escalate unusual, borderline, or unexpected findings and collaborate with scientific teams on interpretation
  • Participate in inter-operator reproducibility assessments and imaging-related quality control investigations


Workflow Support

  • Review and analyze images in accordance with batching schedules and laboratory throughput goals

Qualifications:

Job Description Summary: This position prepares patients for examinations and performs diagnostic radiology procedures following guidelines set by OhioHealth and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Responsibilities And Duties: 40% Performs Diagnostic procedures.

Conducts routine radiographic studies in diagnostics.

Conducts routine and specialized fluoroscopy studies utilizing digital fluroscope equipment; Maintains proficiency in each of these areas.

Provides radiation safety for operator and patient.

40% Obtains diagnostic radiographs Places patient in proper positions for procedures, adhering to department policy regarding routine.

Positions anatomical part in position necessary to obtain optimum radiograph.

Observes patient throughout procedure and responds to any observed change period manipulates equipment in proper manner, adjust technical factors to assure optimal images, and observes equipment safety.

Critiques images inputs through only those optimal for interpretation.

Repeats images as necessary.

15% Prepares patients for examination Receives orders/request for procedures from physician, nursing unit, or radiology office and makes necessary entries in electronic medical record.

Greets patient and friendly manner and makes positive identification.

Explains procedure in clear, understandable terms.

Ensures all necessary clothing and jewelry is removed and patient is properly attired.

Starts IBS and draws up medications.

5% Performs miscellaneous related duties Assumes duties of electronic imaging technician when necessary.

Processes images for interpretation.

Imports and burn CDs.

Performs QC tests on X ray unit and impacts as necessary.

Works with students enrolled in radiography program under program guidelines.

Position Summary:
To provide high quality diagnostic imaging procedures to our patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner while providing those services in a safe and clean environment.

Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology and subsequent Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Must be in compliance with CE Requirements.
Must be registered in the subspecialty of CT or be registry eligible and pass CT registry within 8 months of hire date.
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience:
Preference of at least one year work experience in hospital environment working in CT/X-RAY after graduation and accreditation; however, we are willing to train.

Equipment and Skills Training:
Possesses knowledge of CT scanning and has general knowledge of many types of x-ray equipment and computers. Will train on specific equipment and processes utilized at Williamson Health. Has had training in fluoroscopy, surgery and routine studies.
Willing to perform above functions daily as need in both modalities.

Physical Environment:
Radiation safety and universal precautions practiced in a multimodality imaging department.

Physical Effort:
Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate
Equipment; assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgement decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow workers, patients, their families, and physicians. Must be willing to take call for STAT, Urgent, or Routine studies after hours and on weekends when needed.

Key Results:
Checks patient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy of request before proceeding with study.
Questions female patients (ages 12-50) regarding the possibility of pregnancy and properly documents information in record.
Questions all patients who receive intravenous contrast media and documents information regarding allergies and medical history.
Provides proper radiation safety protection for all persons, to include self. Follows ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY AND IMAGE WISELY.
Follows established protocols, safety guidelines and regulatory requirements while working with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high quality patient care.
Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring the patient is properly covered at all times; during exam and patient transport.
Communicates with all team members to determine where services are most beneficial between CT and XRAY.
Shows leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and makes appropriate decisions.
Volunteers for overtime and fill-in when needed.
Maintains educational requirements to include but, not limited to CEU's, licensure, BLS, and Healthstream courses as assigned.
Performs high quality studies consistently and reviews images for technical quality and accuracy ensuring they meet diagnostic standards.
Works well with fellow employees in CT/XRAY to provide the most efficient use of the equipment and ensures that all requests from physicians and patients are completed in a timely manner.
