Main Duties & Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a Box Truck Driver to join our company. You must have a valid driver's license with a For Hire certification, a clean driving record, and can operate a sit-down forklift. A commercial driver's license is not required for this position. Your job duties will include loading and unloading delivery items, operating a box truck, forklift and cleaning and maintaining equipment. Our customers expect their goods to arrive within a specific time frame, so you must be able to work independently and manage your time well.

MAIN DUTIES:

* Drive a delivery truck; follow designated delivery schedules and routes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

* Deliver or pick up items as instructed.

* Load and unload vehicle as necessary.

* Document deliveries or log other shipment information.

* Complete systemic transactions through a RF scanner.

* Operate a box truck and forklift safely and efficiently to transport, load, and unload materials between warehouse, production, and customer locations.

* Report vehicle or equipment issues and incidents to the supervisor immediately.

* Verify and secure all cargo to prevent damage or shifting during transport.

* Maintain accurate delivery and shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and inspection logs.

* Perform warehouse tasks such as staging, stacking, organizing, and relocating inventory using a forklift.

* Read and follow work orders, shipping labels, and inventory control systems to ensure accuracy.

* Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.

* Comply with all OSHA, and company safety regulations and policies, including proper use of PPE.

* Represent the company professionally at all times during deliveries and customer interactions.

* Assist with cycle counts or inventory checks as needed in the warehouse.

* Keep truck and warehouse areas clean and organized, following 6S or other warehouse safety protocol and standard safety and housekeeping procedures.

* Transport raw materials and finished products between warehouse, production, and shipping areas.

* Coordinate with warehouse or production staff to prioritize tasks and support operational flow.

* Able to work independently and lift up to 75 lbs.

Compensation

* Live the mission statement
* Driver is responsible for pre/post trip truck checks and properly securing your load
* Driver promotes efficiency by transferring products between the Lansing branches
* Driver facilitates this process by making sure transferred products are delivered to the appropriate branch
* Verifying quantities and types of material at each stop
* Loading product on our truck, delivering the products to the appropriate location, and unloading the truck at the destination
* Preventing damage to products in transit
* Keeping track of appropriate transfer paperwork
* Maximizing use of truck capacity without exceeding weight limits Qualifications:

* Must be at least 21 years of age
* NCDL Driver must have a clean driving record
* At least one year of driving experience
* Have forklift experience, forklift certification
* Ability to work independently with efficiency and focus -- and to work as a contributing member of a larger team
* Ability and willingness to lift boxes weighing as much as 80 pounds
* Experience with building products is very helpful
* Strong customer service skills, high integrity, and a positive attitude

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CDL DRIVER WILL Drive a 24-foot or smaller truck for the CAP OC Food Bank to donor food/vendor pick-up sites and/or food distribution sites in Orange, Los Angeles and Riverside counties following scheduled routes.
  • WILL Provide initial contact with food donors at pick-up site and complete food donor receipts.
  • will Unload and/or load food products in the Food Bank and at other sites.
  • Weigh and store food products properly, by packaging, labeling, sorting, and shelving items in compliance with health codes and department procedures while following basic food safety practices.
  • Regularly participate in the direct distribution of food boxes to low-income participants at a member agency or at various distribution sites in Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties.
  • Operate a forklift and other power and manual equipment to move heavy objects and assist in the proper maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of vehicles and general housekeeping of the warehouse including disposal of inedible food items, cleaning coolers/freezers and sinks, sweeping and organization of market.
  • Work with partner agencies, volunteers, donors and participants, and may direct the work of volunteers in the Food Bank.

About the Position:


Hub Group Final Mile is looking for an Owner Operator/Independent Service Provider Driving Team for appliance delivery routes with basic hook up. Appliances being installed can range from refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other home appliances.


Responsibilities:



  • Timely and accurate delivery including installation of appliances
  • Select and use basic tools to assemble, adjust, and install various appliances
  • Must be able to follow complex installation instructions as per manufacturer specifications to complete installation of Refrigerators, Dishwashers, Stoves, Laundry, etc
  • Ability to maneuver items with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
  • Provide a two-person delivery team
