Position Summary
This position involves the performance of semi-routine and diversified duties in connection with repairs to and maintenance of building and grounds requiring many skills found at the journeyman level such as carpentry for woodwork repairs, plumbing repairs, HVAC and electrical repairs, and painting work. The Maintenance Mechanic is expected to have knowledge of and manual skills in repairing such items as plumbing valves and pipes, electrical outlets and switches, stoves, refrigerators, windows, doors and other wood materials, air conditioning, and other mechanical equipment. In carrying out a full set of maintenance duties, the Maintenance Mechanic may be required to work under hazardous conditions such as sleet, snow, heat, cold, dust, and dirt. The Maintenance Mechanic generally exercises a great deal of independence in judgment in resolving problems related to repairing buildings and appurtenances. The Maintenance Mechanic may provide work direction and guidance to other Maintenance Mechanics.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (illustrative, not all-inclusive)
1. Independently performs a wide range of building and equipment repairs and maintenance functions,
frequently involving physical exertion.
2. Repairs or replaces plumbing fixtures and pipes such as toilets, sinks, drains, valves, and controls,
unclogs clogged fixtures and pipes using a variety of powered and non-powered sewer machines and
augers.
3. Trouble-shoots and repairs electrical ranges including such tasks as replacing burner controls and
switches, replacing electrical heating elements, rewiring electrical ranges, replacing door handles
and gaskets, etc.
4. Trouble-shoots and repairs or replaces electrical systems and components including switches,
outlets, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, fuses, electrical wiring, etc.
5. Trouble-shoots and repairs HVAC systems and components including air conditioners, furnaces,
fans, blowers, thermostats, controls, etc.
Trouble-shoots and repairs or replaces refrigerators including replacing fans, compressors,
evaporator coils, controls, door handles, gaskets, etc.
7. Repairs or replaces windows, window frames, doors, door frames, locks, resilient and ceramic tile
floors, carpeted floors, ceilings, cabinets, roofs, fascia, soffits, gutters, downspouts, clotheslines,
mailboxes, etc.
8. Performs vacancy preparation work such as patching and preparing walls for painting, cleaning
stoves and refrigerators, replacing floor tile, cleaning, and making repairs to building surfaces,
fixtures, systems, and equipment.
9. Maintains in good repair all assigned service vehicles, tools, and equipment.
10. Uses a wide range of hand tools and equipment such as drills, hammers, pliers, screw drivers,
electrical testers, hand and power saws, cutters, plungers, threaders, wire brushes, paint rollers and
brushes, sprayers, etc.
11. Requisitions materials, supplies, and equipment for own purposes and for others working on teams
that may involve lifting heavy objects into place.
12. Inspects apartments for maintenance work to be done, usually as a result of a resident request or
Property Manager work order and completes repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
13. Plans and carries out preventive maintenance and regular repair programs for building surfaces,
systems, fixtures, and playground equipment.
14. Performs a number of groundskeeping tasks, including but not limited to trash removal, trimming,
mowing, planting, snow removal, etc.
15. Performs routine cleaning of buildings and grounds as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
16. Provides after-hours and weekend emergency coverage as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
17. Attends workshops, seminars, and training sessions as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
18. Performs other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

JOB TITLE: Quality Control Inspector
JOB CODE: Quality Control
REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager. Direct on-site project direction and daily scheduling provided through continuous communication with the applicable IMIA Project Manager and/or Supervisor.
Summary of position: Responsible for monitoring quality control/assurance requirements of all preservation preformed onboard commercial and US Navy vessel in accordance with established Navy regulations and industry standards or specific contractual requirements as defined in the Scope of Work. Collaborate with customer QA personnel on necessary aspects of the job.
Essential Job Requirements: Produce/create electronic/handwritten Quality Assurance documentation as Objective Quality Evidence for work performed throughout the preservation process. Develop and Maintain Test and Inspection Plan (TIP) for all assigned jobs. Monitor and document all required readings with regard to, but not limited to, metal anchor tooth (profile), paint wet/dry film thickness (DFT), steel temperatures and all required environmental readings using appropriate equipment to include: micrometer, dry film thickness gauge, infrared thermometer, psychomotor. Ensure all assigned equipment is maintained in good working order with within all calibration certification intervals. All of the above requirements shall be completed in a safe and efficient manner so as not to cause injury to self or others.
Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Required Certification: NACE Inspector and/or SSPC NBPI required.
Required Experience: Formal or informal on-the-job training in the marine industry; familiarity with Navy and Society for Protective Coatings standards.
Required Skills: Must possess knowledge of Maritime paintings standards with particular emphasis in US Navy ship preservation criterion. Word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database computer skills required. Must be able to accomplish mathematical calculations associated with preservation readings and documentation; must be able to discern and carry out complex written, oral, or diagramed instructions. Must be able to take direction; interact professionally, knowledgeably and cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers and customer representatives.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically capable of working an 8-10 hour day requires average use of computer, some physical dexterity, and agility within confined and restricted spaces & tanks.

Required Skills & Detailing Experience
Applicants must have at least 1 year of hands-on auto detailing experience in a professional setting such as a detailing shop, dealership, rental car company, car wash, or mobile detailing service.
The primary services performed in this role include interior cleaning and exterior wash/detail maintenance services, so experience in these areas is essential.
Interior Detailing Skills (Primary Focus)
Detailers must be comfortable performing complete interior cleaning and restoration, including:
- Thorough interior vacuuming including seats, carpets, floor mats, and trunk areas
- Cleaning dashboards, door panels, center consoles, vents, and trim
- Carpet and upholstery shampooing or extraction
- Removal of stains, dirt, and embedded debris from fabric surfaces

- Interior glass cleaning without streaking
- Eliminating odors and restoring a clean interior environment

- Safe hand washing techniques using pressure washers or hose systems
- Proper use of foam cannons or pre-soak systems
- Cleaning wheels, tires, and wheel wells
- Removing bugs, dirt, and road film
- Proper drying techniques using microfiber towels or air blowers to avoid scratching paint
- Application of spray wax or quick paint sealant to enhance shine and protection
- Cleaning exterior glass, mirrors, and trim
This role focuses on maintenance-level exterior detailing, not heavy paint correction or polishing.
Equipment & Tool Experience
Detailers should already have experience working with tools commonly used in professional detailing, such as:
- Pressure washers
- Foam cannons or foam sprayers
- Wet/dry vacuums
- Carpet extractors or shampoo machines
- Steam cleaners (optional but helpful)
- Microfiber towel systems and detailing brushes
All equipment and supplies will be provided.

As a Metal Surface Processor, you’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for preparing metal components for aerospace applications through specialized surface treatment processes. From cleaning and masking to anodizing and coating, your work will directly support the quality and performance of parts built for flight. Position Responsibilities:
Review the tie-in book or standard operating procedures to understand daily work assignments. Provide comprehensive oral or written shift handoffs to ensure seamless workflow continuity.
Monitor the workload in the area and coordinate task flow to optimize shop utilization. Proactively report issues or request additional support as necessary.
Identify, separate, and prepare parts according to work orders and chemical recipes (e.g., alkaline, emulsion, paint strip, sandblast, passivate) prior to racking.
Conduct thorough inspections of materials to verify proper cleaning, etching, rinsing, and other processes to ensure optimal adhesion and coating quality. Perform visual checks post-process to confirm uniform coverage.
Apply approved masking materials and coatings based on technical drawings or tooling specifications in preparation for plating or painting operations.
Determine appropriate racking methods for complex part geometries, ensuring proper contact to prevent burning. Inspect, remove, and report any damaged racks or clips.
Rack and unrack parts while verifying correct part numbers and chemical processes as per work orders. Ensure no overloading or air pocket formation occurs during handling.
Operate material handling systems, including cranes, hoists, and carts, safely to transport parts and materials through processing areas.
Operate and monitor cleaning, Dow Coating, anodizing, dyeing, alodine, and rinsing tanks. Determine correct dip times and maintain appropriate temperatures and solution levels.
Perform specific treatments such as sulfuric/chromic acid dips on 75 ST parts formed on Cerro Bend. Apply alodine touch-ups or chromadize as required.
Assist in maintaining chemical strength by accurately measuring and adding solutions. Estimate material surface area to prevent generator overloads.
Start generators, operate control panels, and utilize overhead cranes to load/unload tanks and transfer processed items between stations.
Strip anodizing from racks using caustic soda and nitric acid. Clean tanks, crocks, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Mark, oil, wrap, and route completed parts according to drawings or work orders. Ensure correct parts are matched to work orders and transferred to Quality Assurance (QA) for inspection.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., alodine, acids, solvents) in accordance with safety procedures. Complete all required on-the-job training and maintain necessary certifications.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

You’ll integrate art history, cultural context, and contemporary artists into instruction to strengthen critical thinking and visual analysis skills.

You’ll set assessment data and student work analysis to refine curriculum, differentiate instruction, and inform instructional practices.

Required Experience
- A demonstrated interest in impacting K–12 students in urban schools and communities (1–2 years experience preferred).
- Academic expertise in early childhood education.
- Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Prior to the start of employment, you must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Teacher certification is not a prerequisite for consideration at Uncommon Schools in the state of NJ, but you do need to meet NJ state certification eligibility requirements (a final undergraduate or graduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 for graduates on or after 9/1/16, or 2.75 if you graduated prior to 9/1/16). All instructional staff are required to become certified in the state of New Jersey within a reasonable period after beginning employment.

Compensation
Compensation for this role is between $56,000 to $77,000. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $56,000 - $60,000.
Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
