Job Title: Regional Vice President of Construction

Location: Riverside, CA


Position Overview

We are seeking a Regional Vice President of Construction to lead and scale operations across a growing Southern California construction platform. This executive will oversee multiple Project Executives and a regional team of approximately 60 to 70 employees, with responsibility for operational leadership, client development, project execution, team performance, and overall regional growth.


This role is ideal for a proven construction leader who has successfully managed senior level operations teams, overseen large and complex project portfolios, and played an active role in pursuing and winning new work. Experience with public sector construction is highly valued, especially DSA, OSHPD, and HCAI projects.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for regional construction operations, including oversight of Project Executives, field leadership, and support staff

• Direct and mentor a team of 3 Project Executives along with a broader regional staff of 60 to 70 employees

• Lead regional strategy related to project delivery, staffing, operational performance, and business growth

• Oversee multiple large scale projects and ensure successful execution related to schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction

• Partner with preconstruction and business development teams to help pursue, win, and secure new project opportunities

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and industry partners

• Drive accountability and performance across the region by establishing strong operational processes and leadership standards

• Support succession planning, team development, and hiring of key leadership talent across the region

• Provide executive level oversight on risk management, contract strategy, project planning, and issue resolution

• Collaborate closely with company leadership to align regional operations with broader organizational goals


Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive construction leadership experience

• Proven experience overseeing multiple executives or senior operations leaders within a construction organization

• Experience managing large scale project portfolios and leading sizeable regional teams

• Strong background in public works or complex institutional construction

• Direct experience with DSA projects strongly preferred

• OSHPD or HCAI project experience is highly desirable

• Demonstrated success not only delivering work, but also helping pursue and win new projects

• Strong leadership presence with the ability to mentor executive level direct reports and build high performing teams

• Deep understanding of construction operations, financial performance, project risk, and client management

• Excellent communication and relationship building skills


Preferred Background

• Experience leading education, healthcare, or other technically complex public sector projects

• Strong network within the Southern California construction market

• Experience growing a regional operation and leading through scale

• Ability to operate both strategically and hands on when needed

The ideal candidate is a high level builder and business leader who has managed through other executives, overseen complex regional operations, and understands how to grow a construction business through both execution and client development. This person should be comfortable leading at scale, driving accountability, and representing the organization in front of key clients and industry partners.
