This position is responsible for assisting in purchasing, maintaining inventory control, shipping, receiving and labeling of materials in accordance with applicable permits, laws, rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Maintain physical and computerized inventory levels and ensure an optimum balance between parts on hand and minimum down time due to parts availability

* Maintain documentation of inventory levels

* Operate forklift, other lifting and heavy equipment and perform shipping and receiving duties in accordance with purchasing guidelines and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

* Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse and lay-down yard and keep hand tools in good working condition

* Maintain accurate and up to date records of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) program as directed by the Warehouse Tech 2/Warehouse Supervisor

* Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous periods of time and read and understand maps

* Must be able to work weekends and holidays (or one or the other) when necessary

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assist in the placement of hazardous waste in appropriate containers and proper waste container management

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

* Previous maintenance/warehouse experience is a plus

You will contribute by:

• Perform random audits on select completed orders and verify that the product selected matches the order.

• Upon audit completion, ensure corrections are made to any errors discovered on the order being shipped.

• Communicate the improper placement of product to appropriate parties so resolution can take place.

• When chargeable errors are discovered, the auditor will notify the responsible party of their error and obtain their signature as acknowledgement of the audit.

• Submit daily audit results to the warehouse administration clerk at the end of each shift.

• Perform random tote audits of a complete store order on the dock to arrive at error rates on a store basis.

• Periodically perform re-audits of RGIS to ensure the accuracy of net error rates reported to the Operating Companies and the integrity of the RGIS audit process.

What you will be doing:

• Interacts with customers by phone, email, or in person and receives orders or changes in service.

As we complete construction on a new, state-of-the-art facility, we’re seeking an experienced Project Manager (Independent Contractor) to lead our warehouse consolidation and transition project — moving operations, systems, and people into one optimized hub.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan: scope, timeline, milestones, and risk register.
• Coordinate with construction and facilities teams for readiness, utilities, racking, and compliance.
• Lead IT and systems migration (network, ERP/WMS configuration, testing).
• Oversee equipment and inventory transfer, ensuring accuracy and minimal downtime.
• Redesign warehouse workflows for efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Lead change management: staff readiness, communications, and training.
• Report progress to the COO and cross-functional steering team.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in warehouse, logistics, or facility transitions.
• PMP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience leading multi-site consolidation projects or operational stand-ups.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), IT infrastructure, and food safety standards.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Must qualify as an independent contractor under California AB5.
• Passion for community impact and hunger relief.

Contract Details

• Type: 1099 Independent Contractor (not an employee role)
• Estimated Duration: 24 months
• Location: On-site in San Jose, CA
• Schedule: 30–40 hours/week
• Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and project scope
