Working as part of a team, the successful candidate will assist with ecological field assessments for projects in the mining, energy, and commercial development industries. Primary tasks will include protected species surveys, gopher tortoise relocations, vegetative monitoring, hydrologic monitoring, water quality sampling and support with other ecological assessments, as well as reporting. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of the natural resources of Florida and a minimum of 3 years of applicable job experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Includes, but is not limited to:


Field/Efficacy

  •   Set, maintain, and retrieve mosquito traps across diverse habitats
  •   Retrieve, Collect and process dead wild birds for arbovirus surveillance
  •    Design and conduct field trials evaluating control products and equipment
  •   Assist in conducting studies and evaluations of the impact, efficacy and resistance to control products used for adult and larval mosquito control, in both laboratory and field settings
  •   Collect, record and interpret field study results as needed or as assigned
  •    Support tick surveillance projects, including project design, data collection, and analysis
  •   Assist in research activities conducted by District staff and collaborators in laboratory and field settings


Laboratory/Molecular Assays


  •   Sort and Identify insects, adult and larval mosquitoes, and other vectors to species

  •   Maintain mosquito colonies for research, control evaluation, and education
  •    Record colony hatch cycles and schedule adult emergence for experimental and educational needs
  •    Assist with maintaining mosquito fish populations and assist with distribution


Administrative

  •   Ensure accurate data entry into databases and spreadsheets
  •   Prepare annual reports of work completed in the laboratory

Work Hours

The Role:

We are looking for a Director, Environmental Permitting, to lead and scale all environmental functions supporting development, permitting, construction, and operations of on-site power generation to support large data center loads across the U.S.

You will be responsible for leading all environmental strategy, permitting, compliance, and regulatory interface activities for Scale Microgrids Data Center business, providing executive-level oversight of environmental risk management across natural gas generation facilities, data center infrastructure, and electric transmission and distribution assets. You will establish environmental standards, manage agency relationships, oversee consultants, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and in full regulatory compliance.

This is a leadership role with strategic and operational accountability. Environmental risk can kill a project quietly and expensively, and this role ensures our portfolio moves forward with regulatory certainty, disciplined compliance, and long-term operational stability.

The role reports to our Chief Development Officer, Data Centers, and is based in either our NYC, Ridgewood, NJ, Santa Monica/Oakland, CA, or Chicago offices.

  • Lead negotiations and interface with agencies, including the Department of Environmental Protection, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and local jurisdictions and water management districts.

As a Industrial Maintenance Electrician you will be a vital part of our manufacturing team installing, maintaining electrical equipment. Operate, install electrical systems and preform functional of building and plant equipment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Operate, install electrical systems and perform functional testing of building and plant equipment (e.g., machines, motor controls, room re-models)

  • Determine if system should be shut down or work must be performed with power source on

  • Lock out, tag out, try out equipment and related systems

  • Perform primary and secondary testing on electrical breakers during routine maintenance; replace, update and retro fit breakers

  • Perform routine tests on high voltage switches and relays, using hi-potential test equipment (Hipot), replace switch or relay

  • Troubleshoot electric motors using appropriate test equipment

  • Monitor current, voltage, amperage, frequency and watts hours at sub-stations using online computing system

  • Check and service electrical systems, using infrared analysis sheets to locate hot spots in service panel

  • Service and maintain electrical systems on various types of overhead cranes

  • Operate, install electrical systems and perform functional test of building and plant equipment (e.g., machines, motor controls, room re-models)

  • Install and perform routine maintenance on all types of lighting fixtures (e.g., fluorescent, halide, standard); clean and check sockets, and replace ballast and bulbs

  • Run high voltage electrical cable from sub-station to unit station; cut and splice cable, test cable for resistance

  • Install, replace and repair fiber optic cable for computers and computing systems

  • Bend conduit and install junction boxes; pull wire of various gauge and color through conduit using a fish tape; install and connect switches and outlets

  • Check work after completion or after each operation; ensure job is per drawing and WAC, NEC codes; evaluate job for work to be performed (e.g., wire size, electrical load, conduit)

  • Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g. tiger lift, spider lift, snorkel lift), to access work areas

  • Install wire, crimp, terminate, and solder using tools (e.g., crimpers, wire cutters, soldering gun) in plant electrical systems

  • Establish/verify voltage, amperage, frequency and watts using test equipment (e.g., circuit trackers, sonic circuit chasers, volt, amperage meters)

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrician or Apprentice.

  • Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds frequently within an 8 hour shift.

  • Must be able to complete fall protection training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electrician license (EL01 &/or EL 07) or an electrical card.

  • Crane related experience.

  • Experience with prime power.

High school graduate or GED preferred.
