Position description

The Department of History at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses should an opening arise.



The Department of History is generating an applicant pool of qualified instructors to teach courses in all areas of History (Africa, Ancient Greece & Rome, Byzantine, Early Modern Europe, East Asia, North America, Jewish, Late Modern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Soviet Union, Medieval Europe, Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and other various needs), pending openings. Currently identified openings are in Africa, Europe and the Atlantic World 1650-1850, and the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine. This pool includes assignments to teach courses in the history of science, technology, and medicine, including courses that are offered together with Science, Technology, and Society (STS) and/or Data Science.



In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include holding regular office hours, calculating grades, advising students, preparing course materials, managing GSIs, and attending appropriate meetings/orientations, etc.



It is important to mark any and all specializations that match your area of expertise. If you would be available for or are interested specifically in summer teaching, please indicate it as a specialization as well.



Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

A PhD (or equivalent international degree), or enrolled in PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.

Interacts with clinical staff to understand and resolve operational problems in scheduling and completing PM procedures while minimizing interference to hospital departments.

Determines need for replacement parts and supplies, selects the most cost effective source, and submits properly completed parts request using established policies and guidelines.

Completes corrective and planned maintenance work order documentation per policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates of Applied Sciences degree in medical electronics, electronic technology or related field, including comparable military training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CBET certification preferred.

Three (3) to five (5) years' experience  performing corrective and planned maintenance on medical devices and/or clinical support equipment. 

Must have a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Working knowledge and ability to use basic hand tools and  test equipment specific to the field.  Ability to train CE associates  on use and application of select test equipment.

Must have knowledge and understanding of OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, CAHO, EOC, FDA and other specific regulations and standards pertaining to clinical equipment service and repair.

Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health, Ministry Organizations, and  Clinical Engineering. 

Ability to operate complex test equipment, analyze and interpret information provided by equipment and clinical staff to determine equipment operational condition.

Home Care RN position summary

Provides primary nursing care to home based care patients as ordered by the physician, and in accordance to the organization’s policies and procedures.  The RN is responsible for the initial assessment and care plan development in collaboration with the Population Health Case Manager.  Provides functional support/supervision to Home Healthcare Aides and LPNs as needed. Provides therapeutic intervention, overall care management and achievement of top decile client outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Minimum qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved nursing education program

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of PA

  • One (1) year experience as a professional care nurse

  • Must have current Driver’s license and reliable transportation

Mercy Medical Center a member of Trinity Health Of New England is a leader in Rehabilitation Care  and has an amazing opportunity for an Outpatient Physical Therapist who has a desire to use the latest techniques and technologies to provide a comprehensive and compassionate care strategy to our patients.

The Physical Therapist will be working in our Outpatient Rehab clinic located at 175 Carew Street, Springfield treating patients with varied orthopedic and neurological diagnoses.

What will you do: 

  • Evaluates, directs, plans, and treats patients with a wide variety of disabilities to help clients achieve a maximum level of functional independence.
  • Develops and conducts a variety of techniques and modalities to provide individualized treatment appropriate to established goals.
  • Modifies treatment plans and goals due to changes in client status and capabilities.
  • Maintains appropriate communication with treatment team, physicians, clients, and/or family members to facilitate problem solving, program planning and education.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy
  • Current State of MA license.

Ability to clearly explain clinical, technical, and diagnostic procedures to clients and their families.
