Toyota's Die Maintenance Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Skilled Die Maintenance Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is preventative maintenance on casting Die's in accordance with standards.
Starting hourly rate of $34.90 - $45.50. $1.50 hourly shift premium (for Mid Shift and Night Shift). KPI and quarterly attendance bonus.

Reporting to the Die Maintenance Group Leader, the person in this role will support Toyota Motor's Manufacturing Tennessee (TMMTN) manufacturing operation. The facility produces over 2 million castings (engine blocks and transmission cases and housing) annually.
- Perform welding, grinding, operating cranes, machining, & fabrication.
- Perform machining, finishing, assembly, of dies.
- Support inline tryouts and line calls of dies.
- Carry out emergency repairs if any issues arise.
- Perform die modifications for surface quality and accuracy.
- Work in a team setting.
- Occasionally travel to support off-site activities at other Toyota facilities and Toyota affiliates.
- Log daily book entries to communicate activities, issues, and progress of die work.
Experience building and/or maintaining high-volume casting (or stamping) dies, welding ability, and machining. Experience in industrial maintenance, welding, machining and/or military experience. Cometic Gasket, Inc., is a leading worldwide supplier of gaskets and engine sealing solutions for Automotive Performance, Powersports, Original Equipment and Remanufactured Engine Industries. We are currently seeking an individual, Tool and Die Maker, for our expanding Tool Room.
Our Tool Room consists of standard Tool Room machines, along with VMC’s and Tool and Die Makers at Cometic Gasket are responsible for building and repairing our progressive and single hit metal stamping dies and the safe & successful operation of all production tooling.
A successful candidate shall have several years of experience working with tight tolerance progressive dies in a medium to long run stamping environment on up to 200-ton presses.
Responsibilities:
· Machining of die sets, die sections, and tooling components
· Build/repair progressive, single hit dies, jigs and fixtures
· Plan and perform bench and machine operations for tooling
· Fit and assemble sections and components for dies, jigs and fixtures
· Continuous improvement of tooling
Experience:
· Tool and Die: 4 years State Certified or 6 years of documented tool room exp.
· Trouble Shooting: 2 years exp. Min.
· Previous experience in tooling and manufacturing

· Prior CNC and Wire EDM experience is a plus.

PAY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE
The Die Machinist will perform a combination of duties that includes die sinking (trimmer and impression), die repair, die control, horizontal mill operations and CNC operations.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Calculates dimensions, plans machining, layout, and assembly operations.
- Measures and lays out metal stock for machining.
- Sets up and operates machine tools including a variety of lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, and grinders.
- Repairs dies to specifications and verifies conformance of machine parts to specifications.
- Verifies dimensions, clearances and alignment of members and parts in die.
- Ensures quality and verifies conformance of finished work to specification.

The Die Cutter Machine Operator efficiently performs set-up and operates machines that die cut blank and/or pre-printed stock. Responsibilities include confirmation of accuracy and completeness of order, dies, set-up and installation, paper stock, and the load and feed of paper, and the effectiveness and accuracy of cutting, staging completed work per instructions, and area maintenance. We are looking for operators who are flexible and can work any of these shifts with our current openings on nights (6 pm - 6 am Wednesday-Friday).

The Role

We are looking for a Tool & Die Technician who will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical trouble shooting, breaking down and repairing injection molds and other secondary tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Tool & Die Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on molds to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in tooling version changes, engineering modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
- Break down, troubleshoot and repair/reassemble molds.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve tooling and process-related issues.
- Keep tool area and machines clean and maintained.
- Maintain good communication with team members.
- Understand the job responsibilities in order to perform, monitor and control the process as it affects quality.
- Follow all procedures and work instructions pertaining to your assignment and make recommendations to improve the process.
- Appropriately record problems or non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventive measures are taken.
- Notify the supervisor immediately when problems or non-conformances are detected.
- Assist in problem-solving process, corrective action and prevention activities.

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Tool & Die Technician are:
- Minimum Education – High School diploma or GED. Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mold repair, or tooling preferred.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling systems used in injection molding equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Experience with manual mills, lathes, and grinders would be beneficial.
- Must be well organized.
- Must have mechanical experience.
- Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license.
- Must be proficient in the use of measuring gauges.
- Must be able to frequently bend and lift parts for up to 12 hours.
- Must be able to pull up to 150 lbs with a hand truck.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs over your head.
