This Maintenance Technician III position is an on-site, full-time, non-exempt position. Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:30am - 6:00pm (with some flexibility).

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician III provides preventative maintenance and repair services at the Denver establishment, following manufacturers' instructions and utilizing knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic equipment (as appropriate to position level). This position is primarily responsible for on-going maintenance, development, and upkeep of facility equipment and complex sterilization equipment.

Preferred skills include LabView maintenance and programming to interface with sterilization equipment, including sensors, actuators, and instrumentation devices.
In addition, this position is responsible for independently maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing sterilizers and other laboratory equipment, as needed.

Responsible for maintaining all the equipment in the facility, the facility itself inside and out, and miscellaneous maintenance duties as needed. Special emphasis placed on accurate record keeping for FDA GMP purposes with focus on maintaining accurate maintenance logs.

Job Functions:

TITLE: Senior Maintenance Manager, Whey & RSPC

DUTIES: Manage and provide technical advisement to address and evaluate the Whey Plant and RSPC breakdowns, periodic maintenance and Maintenance Staff. Advise plant and leadership at the plant on policies, procedures and appropriate sourcing resources and other methods to best ensure to best ensure that parts/equipment/stock rooms have the critical spare parts, machinery aspects and other similar items in inventory. Ensure machine reliability, minimizing downtime and supporting food safety standards while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Collaborate with site & plant leadership, department managers and supervisors to align duties with the company's goals and values. Provide oversight on plant programs/processes to ensure the location is in compliance with relevant EPA regulations and the requests/mandates of the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality. Exercise independent judgement and serve as the technical expert leading in the evaluation and identification of maintenance problems and provide recommendations for correction. Keep abreast of current technology and possible improvements derived from such technology and provide training and technical expertise to employes on such technology. Manage staffing, scheduling and all other scheduling as needed. Meet with technicians daily for work order priorities, review breakdowns and issues, safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practice policies, department expenses, and efficiencies. Monitor Key Performance Indicators, maintain budget and look for ways to run efficiently from both a profit and energy savings standpoint.

HOURS: 40 per week

Primary Purpose of Position

• Support CEC and fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, refuel outage support, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects.
• Supervises the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities.
• Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings.
• Maintains knowledge of plant operations, disciplinary skills and techniques, commensurate with the responsibility to develop and conduct effective, high-quality training.

Maintenance Technician Level III will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing and packaging equipment through a broad knowledge base of manufacturing skills in electrical, controls and mechanical disciplines involving work of a varied nature; resulting in efficient and reliable operation of plant facilities.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Level III Responsibilities

Mechanical: Greasing and changing parts, making movement adjustments to machinery, aligning linear bearings and motors; drilling, grinding and cutting, basic lathe and milling, welding and modifying parts.

Electrical: Reading schematics, using voltmeters, troubleshooting relay and PLC logic panels.

Pneumatic: Adjusting flows, change/repair components

Plumbing: Replace PVC, copper, galvanized and/or steel piping including making modifications.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

• Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
• 2+ years' related experience in maintenance required.
• Ability to form the Level III or Level IV tasks described above.
• Ability to work in a safe, sanitary and productive manner in accordance to site GMP's.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends.
• Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain production equipment.
• Basic to advanced welding skills depending on role level (Level III vs. Level IV).
• Knowledge of packaging, processing and utility equipment.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong communication abilities in both written and verbal.

Position Overview

B&W Quality Growers is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Manufacturing / Production Line Maintenance Team on 2nd shift.

This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations within a fast-paced, food-grade production environment. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead technicians, prioritize work, ensure equipment reliability, and maintain safe, efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with hands-on industrial maintenance experience who can manage people, production demands, and equipment performance simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead shift maintenance technicians supporting live production lines
• Assign, prioritize, and monitor corrective and preventive maintenance tasks
• Provide hands-on technical support for complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
• Oversee installation, replacement, and commissioning of motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, PLC systems, and related equipment
• Ensure rapid response to downtime events and drive root cause analysis
• Support production startups, shutdowns, and seasonal commissioning
• Review and manage CMMS work orders for accuracy, completion, and reporting
• Maintain compliance with all safety, food safety, and regulatory standards
• Train and develop technicians to strengthen overall team capability
• Coordinate with Production, Sanitation, and Operations leadership to align maintenance priorities

Qualifications & Technical Experience

Education & Experience

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or food-grade production environments
• 2+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience preferred
• Formal industrial maintenance training, certification, or technical degree required

Technical Expertise

• Strong mechanical knowledge including motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, chains, and drive systems
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting skills (3-phase power, controls, panels, sensors)
• Strong working knowledge of PLCs and VFD systems (Allen Bradley preferred)
• PLC diagnostics experience required; programming experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with:
• Ammonia refrigeration systems
• Air and refrigeration compressors
• Boilers and HVAC systems
• Industrial conveyor and belt systems
• Industrial ice machines
