Responsibilities:

The Certified Surgical Tech First Assist (CSTFA) will provide essential support to the surgical team by evaluating and coordinating activities during surgical procedures. Perform pre and post-operative activities to facilitate optimal patient care. Works closely with surgeons in the operating room during a surgical procedure. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and during an operation, assist the surgeon with tasks such as selecting equipment, holding open incisions, stopping bleeding, closing the incision, among other technical tasks. Collaborate with healthcare professionals including anesthesiologists and nurses to deliver high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.
Positioning the patient for surgery and aiding with draping
Clearing the area where the surgeon will operate and holding open incisions by using tissue retractors, sponges, or operating
suction or irrigation equipmentSelecting and passing instruments and supplies during an operation
Stopping bleeding by sponging, clamping, tying, or cauterizing vessels, or suturing tissue layers as directed by the surgeon
Applying dressings to surgical wounds
Counting sponges, needles, and other materials before and after the operation
Closing the incision at the end of the procedure
Follow facility protocol and policy as well as other state and federal laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required and completion of an accredited surgical first assistant program. Associates degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as Surgical Tech. Preferred experience as a CSFA or SA-C in diverse surgical specialties and proficiency with robotic and minimally invasive surgical
techniques.
Certifications: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFSA) or Surgical Assistant-Certified (SA-C) required.
BLS - Basic Life Support required.
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.

- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills,and behaviors consistent with competent practice.
Competency develops when candidates utilize higher level critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They should possess advanced relevant surgical skills for area of practice and apply their knowledge to emergency situations as they may arise in the operating room. Competent CST II’s use conscious, abstract reasoning and problem solving in planning collaboration with their peers to assess the needs of the patient and surgeon during the surgical procedure. Competent CST II’s practice autonomously in assisting with other duties such as assisting providers and nurses with vaginal deliveries, supply restocking, instrument flow, front desk customer service and engagement. Competent CST II’s are essential to the organization because of their efficiency, ability to set priorities and confidence in managing most situations within their clinical specialty. CST II’s may remain at a competent level indefinitely throughout their career.
Required License Certification and Registration: Incumbent must hold and maintain the Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, (formerly LCC-ST). If not certified, evidence of continuous employment in the state of South Carolina as a Surgical Technologist before January 1, 2008 is required.
Basic Life Support required. Thereafter, must maintain a Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: High School Diploma. Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program. At least one year of work experience as a Certified Surgical Tech required.

The Area Mech HVAC Refrigeration Kitchen Tech will solve, perform maintenance and/or operational procedures in all phases of plumbing, HVAC, kitchen equipment, refrigeration work including, air cooled and water cooled chillers. Among many tasks, the Area Mech HVAC Refrigeration Kitchen Tech must be able to repair or replace valves, bearings, belts and sheave replacement, blower and shaft replacement, insulation and damper repairs, motor repair or replacement, pump rebuilding and maintenance of boilers and air compressors. Basic Qualifications :
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in refrigeration
- Universal EPA Certification (Type I, II, and III)
- Ability to pass the Area Mech HVAC Refrigeration Kitchen Tech assessment
- Experience troubleshooting, performing maintenance and operational procedures in all aspects of the plumbing trade to include: plumbing, HVAC, commercial kitchen repair, boilers, air compressors and water cooled chillers

We are currently looking for a Hemodialysis Tech II to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company with a reputation for exceptional service and patient care.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Hemodialysis Tech II position will coordinate with the Clinic Manager and Department Nurse Educator in the training process for all newly hired and existing staff members. The Hemodialysis Tech II is responsible for initiating all clinical floor training that teaches and integrates UH policies, procedures and dialysis theory for the treatment of ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease) patients for all dialysis clinical floor positions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma/GED or higher is required.
- Must be a PCT with at least a year of experience in hemodialysis within the last 24 months
- CCHT certification is required
- Must have a current American Heart Association, Basic Cardiac Life Support and Healthcare Provider card

May perform duties under the direct supervision of surgeon, who is physically present, and who personally directs delegated acts, and remains immediately available to personally respond to critical moments.
With applied knowledge, skill, and under direct supervision, is able to provide hemostasis, closures, and other intraoperative technical functions that assist a physician in performing a safe surgical procedure with optimal outcomes.
When not assisting surgeon, will function as surgical technician.
Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends and holidays.
The CSTFA assists with surgical instruments in the OR based on procedure performed, standards, guidelines, and policies set for the unit.
Also functions under the guidance of the Registered Nurse by assisting with the nursing care of the patients in the OR by performing routine and delegated duties according to the standards of practice and policy and procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse at all times.
Other duties include stocking, replenishing, preparing, and/or selecting supplies and equipment for storage or use during surgical procedures.
Assists with housekeeping functions to maintain cleanliness in the OR.
Activities are directed toward achieving desired patient outcomes.
Demonstrates the ability to interpret information to identify the patient's age specific needs and provides appropriate care for the age group in question.
Employee may flex or float depending on business needs or directives of Supervisor.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
