Job Summary:
The Monitor Technician functions under the direction of the Nurse Manager to facilitate safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patient care by observing cardiac monitors to ensure recognition of arrhythmias. Cardiac monitor technicians are responsible for watching patients' heart rates and /or pulse oximetry and reporting important changes to the nursing staff; they often use equipment that tracks several patients simultaneously. They clean and maintain equipment and ensure batteries are charged and installed properly. Additional duties may include clerical and receptionist functions, retrieval of data, preparing and maintaining patient charts, verifying current telemetry orders in an accurate and timely manner, and serving as the pivotal communication source to the clinical staff.

Observes Telemetry Monitors * Recognizes cardiac arrhythmias and reports promptly * Records telemetry strips each shift and as changes or events are noted. In this role you will:
- Coordinate all inventory categories, including common lab consumables, chemicals, and shipping/receiving materials.
- Maintain accurate stock levels through cycle counts, restocking, material staging, and reconciliation of discrepancies.

The candidate will conduct robophysical studies of locomotion in laboratory models of cluttered terrain, on land and in water, conducting experiments and numerical simulations. Position requires the ability to pass a drug/alcohol pre-screening; may require working competently with dangerous materials and in a dangerous environment, such as around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, high-pressure liquids and gas, and bot surfaces. In addition, it may require lifting heavy objects of up to 75 pounds, and working in confined spaces, noisy environments, and elevated locations (such as climbing extension ladder and other types of ladders; or using scaffolding) either inside or outside of a building. During adverse weather, activities may require extensive after hours work or callback. This job may require wearing a full-face respirator in accordance with Georgia Tech campus policies and procedures. This job will require some evening hours and hours during peak times, as well as being a part of an on-duty rotation.

Responsibilities
The Nursing Station Tech position is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties at the station, and maintaining patient care areas.
Other titles/roles with similar duties to that of our Nursing Station Tech are Nurse Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA) and Health Unit Coordinator.
Qualifications
18 years of age.
Preferred: 1-2 years experience working in a health care setting as a HUC, NA or NST or equivalent experience.
Preferred: Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
Preferred: Successful completion of a health unit coordinator program
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.
License or Certification:
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from one of the following programs:
