Position: CT Tech/Rad Tech
Reports To: Clinic Supervisor
Function: Operations
Department: Clinical Services
Position Summary
CT Techs are responsible for performing CT imaging of patients within standards of practice and protocols.
Additional responsibilities include rooming patients and other Medical Assistant duties as necessary when not
conducting CT scans.
• Performs CT imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted
standards of practice and protocols.
• Maintains patient care, comfort, and safety during the exam.
• Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems.
• Relay to providers pertinent information prior to entering exam room.

• Observe and record the patient’s EMR encounter and accurate history of the visit.
• Properly use protective coverings to protect patients and themselves from excess radiation exposure.
• Follow the policies, procedures, and safety protocols established by the medical director or generated
by federal, state and local requirements, and by other oversight or accrediting agencies.
• Report any medical errors, mishaps, or near misses to the medical director or supervising physician.
• Implement the quality control processes required by the RadSite Standards.
• Educate patients about safety concerns inherent to ionizing radiation.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations regarding the operation of the applicable
imaging systems.
• Maintain the current credentials necessary to operate the applicable imaging systems.
• Participates in educational opportunities to maintain job knowledge; reading professional publications.
• Sanitize exam room after each patient and deep cleaning weekly.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and non-sample pharmaceuticals, rotating/stocking
pharmaceutical closet; dispose of expired medications and ordering supplies and pharmaceuticals as
needed per established protocol.
• Works cohesively with all members of office and clinical team.
• Maintains detailed knowledge of EMR software and electronic systems as they relate to job functions.
• Maintains CT Tech Manual and binder documents to aid in external audits.
• Performs all other temporary and/or permanent duties as requested by the Clinic Supervisor and/or
providers.
• Performs Medical Assistant responsibilities as needed including rooming patients, taking vitals,
recording patient information in EHR and cleaning/stocking exam rooms.
• Identify, propose, and implement continual improvements to drive process efficiency, scalability and
innovation within the scope of your work that enhances our ability to achieve the ADVENT vision.
• Support the overall success of the organization and perform other related duties as requested by
leadership.
• Plan and adapt with business growth and strategy, cross-training where necessary to accommodate
different situations and locations.
• Follow all legal and compliance requirements, including HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient privacy.
Skills and Qualifications
• Completion of a Radiology or CT Tech program.
• ARRT Certified.
• Prior clinical experience.
• Strong communication skills and exceptional attention to details.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
• Ability to work independently, producing high quality special imaging with little supervision.
• Must be willing to assist at various clinics within the market as needed.

Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Certified Surgical Tech, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to the company’s mission and vision by assisting with the provision of safe and effective nursing care in accordance with a defined scope of practice within the operating room. This may include: direct patient care and observation, scrubbing and assisting the surgeon at the operative field, surgical room turnover between cases, collection and recording of pertinent clinical data in the medical record and consistent collaboration with the Registered Nurse in clinical decision making.
What you will do in this role:
- Demonstrate necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the role of the surgical technician in accordance with the Association of Surgical Technologists
- Assist in preparing the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments
- Ensure that surgical asepsis is maintained in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings
- Assist in the turnover of the operating room suites between cases, disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces
- Prepare procedure room for use the following day by bringing in equipment, setting up, "pulling cases" accurately, and reporting to supervisor items that are needed and not available
Qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required per facility practice and state regulatory requirement; otherwise preferred
- Surgical Tech Certification
- One year experience in an operating room setting (preferably in an ambulatory surgery center)
- Valid BCLS Certification upon employment ***Online certification not acceptable

Ensures 12 hour strips are printed and distributed to the units per policy * Accurately interprets rhythms and measures intervals, able to identify age appropriate differences Excellence in Customer Service by partnering with health care team, patient and family * Protects rights and dignity of patient at all times * Maintains confidentiality * Answers telephone and call lights promptly and notifies appropriate individual of need for follow-up * Resolves unit monitoring concerns * Present self in positive and professional manner and show sensitivity to concerns and needs of others Performs telemetry functions * Accurately maintains required units dispensation records and monitor logs * Ensures appropriate assignment of patient to telemetry unit and documentation of all equipment * Prepares each telemetry unit for patient use; cleans each unit upon return * Keeps necessary telemetry supplies available and organized * Reports broken or defective equipment to immediately to Manager and Biomed Team Work & Communication * Supports initiatives of the health care team * Participates in unit performance improvement initiatives * Supports professional nursing practice through evidenced-based practice and ethical accountability * Provides unit supplies, patient care supplies, and equipment as assigned * Uses effective written and oral communication skills with physicians and healthcare team * Uses safety communication techniques * Communicates completion of assignment/duties * Gives concise report of all patients monitored and status of equipment to oncoming shift * Communicates patient safety concerns/problems/ emergencies to the RN * Notifies the appropriate nursing unit promptly of rhythm changes. Communicates need for immediate response, if indicated * Uses positive and respectful communication with all members of healthcare team, patients and families. Safety and Infection Control * Provides safe patient monitoring * Follows all policies and procedures with regard to safety and emergency preparedness * Cleans all equipment properly utilizing appropriate cleaning process per isolation guidelines * Practice accountability Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma General or GED General

Previous experience as monitor technician in an acute care setting Preferred or Staff members with monitor tech experience are required to provide proof of participation in a EKG monitoring course such as Learn Rhythm or a comparable course.
