The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a specialized unit within the U.S. Secret Service Police that provides full-time tactical support to the Presidential Protective Division. On order, ERT will also provide tactical support to designated protectees, protected venues, and National Special Security Events.

Duties
During the course of their careers, Secret Service Police Officers carry out assignments in protection. Duties include:

* Providing protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, The Main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area.
* Traveling in support of the Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions.
* Enforcing mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A.

* U.S. citizenship is required.
* Possess a current valid U.S. driver's license.
* Must be at least 20 years old at the time of application and under 40 at referral. Exceptions may apply for those with current or prior service in federal law enforcement positions covered by special retirement provisions. * Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
* Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular. Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye.
* Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 25 decibels (A.S.A. or equivalent I.S.O.) in either ear in the 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz ranges. Applicants must be able to hear the whispered voice at 15 feet with each ear without the use of a hearing aid.
* Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
* Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA or Artesia, NM and 17 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD.
* Certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so, if you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959.

Position Summary & Highlights:
  • This Medical Assistant position will provide direct support to two providers in the clinic.

  • The clinic boasts a culture of collaborative, autonomous, connected, welcoming, hardworking, and rewarding.

  • As the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neurologists provide care for patients with complex conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, seizures, and general neurological disease. 

  • Neurologic conditions treated include: Stroke Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and essential tremors, Neuromuscular dysfunction, Migraine, Multiple sclerosis, Memory conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

  • The Neurosurgery clinic team works in tandem with our neurosurgical team as well as supporting our neuro-ophthalmologist who is the only one in the state of Idaho!

What Will You Do:
  • In addition to rooming patients and taking vitals, you will perform prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and imaging.

  • Complete chart prep, follow up on imaging orders, calling patients with surgery instructions, and an occasional set up for a procedure.

  • You will work in a great positive team environment along side other MAs, RNs, and front office staff.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Need to be able to consistently anticipate what needs to be done for a successful visit with the surgeons. This is a very fast paced clinic, mentally and physically, requiring rooming upwards of 20-25 patients each clinical day.

  • Be reliable, a proactive diligent worker, eager to learn, has an interest in the neuroscience field, and likes to be challenged and able to handle stressful situations at times.

What You'll Be Doing:

Clinical Rockstar Duties:

- Deliver comprehensive nursing care throughout the ante-, intra-, and post-partum phases.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care.
- Administer meds, prep for procedures, and rock those safety checks.
- Maintain sterile technique and show off your IV skills.
- Communicate with empathy and clarity to patients and families.

Quality + Safety = Your Thing:

- Use two identifiers to confirm patient identity.
- Ensure verbal orders and timeouts are always on point.
- Follow all safety policies and protocols.

Team Player Musts:

- Adapt to shifting schedules and unit needs.
- Complete required training and stay up to date with competencies.
- Mentor, precept, and elevate your teammates.
- Attend trainings and staff meetings with energy and purpose.
- Maintain certifications like BLS, ACLS, and NRP

Teach + Support Patients:

- Educate patients and families on care plans and what to expect post-procedure.

What You'll Need to Join:

Education:

- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (BSN preferred) required.

Licenses + Certifications:

- RN license (Single State or Compact Multi-State) required.
- BLS from AHA - Required
- NRP - Required
- ACLS - Required
- National specialty certification - Preferred

Experience:

- At least 2+ years of recent, direct Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
