We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Dubuque, IA. In this role, you will support electrical engineering staff in the design, testing, analysis, and improvement of electrical systems, components, and products. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-world electrical engineering applications and the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist electrical engineers with the design, development, and testing of circuits, control systems, and electronic components.
• Perform data collection, signal analysis, and documentation to support ongoing electrical engineering projects.
• Create, update, and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB layouts, and technical reports.
• Conduct research on electrical components, emerging technologies, and engineering methods as assigned.

Responsibilities

Basic Success Criteria

• 7+ years of professional experience building and testing electromechanical assemblies, fabrication, integration, or mechanical assembly experience

• 4+ years of hands-on experience reviewing technical designs and working from drawings, schematics, layouts, assembly/procedures, master parts lists, and other controlled documentation

• Ability to proficiently use a PC/Mac, Google Suite, manufacturing execution systems, JIRA, or equivalent tools

It includes engineering, quality, materials, and production operations typical of a Jabil manufacturing site.

What will you do?

• Provides technical support for existing processes, including hands-on troubleshooting and failure analysis for milling machines, lathes, EDMs and other CNC equipment.

• Performs programing, qualification, implementation and debugging of CNC programming and functional framework for new and updated machining processes.

• Performs measurement of parts using manual gaging and automated methods.

• Uses data driven decision making for CNC program corrections and improvements.

• Participates in creation of machine requirements for modifications and new builds.

• Participates in machine selection, vendor functional acceptance, site acceptance activities, installation and qualification activities.

• Participates in cutting tool selection, custom cutting tool design, sourcing and testing.

• Participates in tool holder selection, fixture selection, fixture design, sourcing and testing.

• Performs installation, alignment and qualification of machine components including 4th and 5th axis rotary tables, integrated tool setters, touch probes and live tool spindles. 

• Participates in training of Machine Operators on equipment maintenance, tool change, tool setting, tool offsets, data transfers and other routine operational requirements.

• Working knowledge CAD/CAM software required. Experience with Mastercam and CAD/CAM post processing desire ​

The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Liaison Engineering Organization is seeking Consultant (Level 5) Liaison Engineers to support operations in Everett, Seattle, Auburn, and or Renton Washington.
