About the Role:

Refactor Games is a AAA sports video game studio. We are developing the next generation of professional football (soccer) video games using Unreal Engine 5.

We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Game Designer - Game Systems to drive the design and implementation of advanced gameplay systems for a next-generation AAA European football video game built in Unreal Engine 5. You will conceptualize, prototype, tune, and polish interconnected systems that define how the game feels and plays across gameplay mechanics, progression, meta features, and player engagement loops.

You’ll work closely with engineers, animators, AI designers, UX, and production to ensure systems are robust, performant, and deeply aligned with the total football experience. This role requires strong systems thinking, Unreal Engine proficiency, and a passion for football that shows in both design insight and execution.

Experience:

What You'll Work On:

• Design and own complex game systems such as player mechanics, controls, progression loops, mode rules, match logic, meta interactions, and balancing frameworks.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in designing and tuning interconnected game systems (Progression, balancing, meta loops, etc.).
• Hands-on proficiency with Unreal Engine 5 workflows, particularly Blueprints, and familiarity with scripting/design implementation.
• Strong analytical mindset—comfortable analyzing player behavior, balancing large systems, and iterating based on data and playtests.
• Deep knowledge of football and football games (e.g., understanding of team tactics, player roles, ball mechanics, game flow, and competitive balance).
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.

Prototype Engineering Technician

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will support prototyping activities within a collaborative manufacturing environment. The position works closely with engineering teams to assist with product development initiatives and the fabrication of prototype components.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting prototype builds in collaboration with Product Development Engineering.
• Assisting with fixture setup, fabrication, and prototype assembly.
• Producing components using machining, rapid prototyping, and fabrication equipment.
• Creating and modifying 3D models using CAD software to support prototype development.
• Supporting cross-functional teams in engineering and manufacturing activities related to product prototyping.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

• Work with engineers to set up and fabricate prototype fixtures and components.
• Operate traditional and CNC machine shop equipment including mills and lathes.
• Produce prototype parts using rapid prototyping equipment such as:
• 3D printers
• Laser cutters
• Other fabrication tools
• Interpret engineering drawings, prints, and schematics to fabricate parts accurately.
• Perform fabrication and assembly of mechanical, electronic, and electro-mechanical components.
• Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to design or modify solid models for manufacturing.
• Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify dimensions.
• Follow established machine shop policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, including the use of proper PPE.
• Utilize common hand and power tools during prototype fabrication and assembly.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Basic mechanical fixture and/or electro-mechanical design experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with machine shop environments and equipment.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

• Associate's degree or relevant technical training.

The role involves working closely with sales representatives, engineers, and clients to develop estimates, create bills of materials, and support the quoting process while contributing to product innovation within the rapidly evolving data center sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between the sales team, clients, and engineering teams to ensure project requirements, budgets, and timelines are clearly defined.
• Review construction drawings and technical specifications to recommend appropriate product solutions.
• Interpret project requirements from Sales Managers and assess feasibility, lead times, and potential technical challenges.
• Develop cost estimates and create quotes for custom or new product designs.
• Build and maintain design history throughout the quotation process.
• Prepare initial bills of materials and provide cost analysis for proposed solutions.
• Provide application engineering support for products designed for data center and mission-critical environments, including containment solutions.
• Monitor trends in data center design and collaborate with R&D teams to support new product development.
• Maintain awareness of new technologies, materials, and best practices to improve product performance and production efficiency.
• Represent the company at relevant data center industry conferences and trade shows.
