Overview

Berkot's Super Foods is seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. With 20 locations serving Chicago's Southland, Indiana, and Wisconsin, we're looking for CDL drivers to keep our stores fresh and fully stocked through the holidays and beyond. Drivers will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of grocery products between distribution centers, warehouses, and retail store locations. This role ensures product quality and on-time delivery while upholding all company safety standards and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. No unloading of freight is required by the driver.


Responsibilities

  • Operate a tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.
  • Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Navigate routes efficiently while maintaining a schedule for deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Import Manager is responsible for monitoring and obtaining shipments’ clearance from US Customs and other Government agencies in a timely and efficient manner, making sure all is in compliance with policies and procedures.


What you can expect:


Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Manage customs broker relationship and ensure all import documentation needed for customs clearance are complete and accurate
  • Classify and provide HTS numbers by line for all sample, collection, RMD, and VDC shipments
  • Coordinate with Receiving Department and broker to maximize space capacity and facilitate smooth flow of incoming shipments
  • Provide management with accurate forecast numbers for all shipments
  • Check daily that all shipments are entered into CDM correctly
  • Respond to all CDM issue emails within 24 hours
  • Process all claims dealing with damaged units/cartons and or missing shipments. This includes email notification to concerned freight forwarder.
  • Confirm that the Receiver file has been updated, and shipments are being verified daily
  • Ensure compliance with global import regulations (classification, valuation, quantity, origin declaration & Free Trade Agreement eligibility)
  • Manage timely responses to US Customs on CF28 (Request for Information) and review Notice of Actions CF29
  • Respond to NY Merchandising Dept regarding shipment tracking inquiries, advising of any exceptions and the current status of shipments
  • Approve import freight invoices and audit for cost savings
  • Manage regular entry audit process to ensure accuracy of HTS classifications and valuation
  • Manage recordkeeping to ensure it is current, orderly, filed in itemized manner; including retention of all correspondence and other records relating to customs business
  • Monitor monthly entry liquidation utilizing USCBP ACE reports.
  • Schedule monthly appointments to shred expired records and monitor removal of files
  • Oversee all operations within the respective department(s) assigned and provide direction to supervisor(s) as needed
  • Manage workload for import team members and ensure staff levels are appropriate
  • Knowledgeable on all processes within department(s) and implement continuous improvements
  • Maintain an appropriate flow of workload within the department and ensure that all process time goals are met daily
  • Utilize SAP – EWM system proficiently to ensure understanding of business within respective department
  • Demonstrates strong supervisory skills, providing guidance, direction, skill and performance accountability, and provides input regarding employee performance
  • Monitor and address accuracy/productivity/attendance issues using progressive discipline program
  • Provide thorough training of new hires and temporary staffing, cross-training as needed; Initiate and complete cross-training in key positions to cover volume spikes, absenteeism, and vacations

Summary of Position (Job Purpose) - Major purpose and functions of the position.

We are seeking an experienced Retail Engineer to join our team and help us drive process improvement and efficiency across our retail stores. The Retail Engineer - Store Operations’ primary responsibilities are to update and maintain our engineered labor standards platform. In addition, identify and analyze key metric data alongside current store operational processes to support workload simplification and new initiatives. This job requires problem solving skills and strong analytical capabilities, along with data management and great communication skills.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance

  • Compile and upkeep relevant datasets and information crucial to store operations such as Time Studies, Labor Standards, etc.
  • Become an expert in our labor standards platform (LaborPro) and ensure accurate inputs, maintenance, and application of the system.
  • Skilled in work measurement, standard data, and predetermined time systems and tools (MOST) with a focus on time study expertise.
  • Investigate store data and processes to identify trends, opportunities, and pain points and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with field and store management to validate and react to trends and outliers by offering feedback and problem-solving solutions to ensure resolution.
  • Assist the Manager of Reporting & Analytics in monitoring store processes, building relationships with business partners, and creating tools and presentations.
  • Evaluate various labor scenarios and assess the impact of any changes.
  • Continuously improve processes from the backroom through checkout.
  • Display proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information and proposing solutions within budget constraints.

As a Director Design, Development, and Sourcing Fish & Hunt Hard Goods & Gear, you play a pivotal role in leading the design and development of our most innovative and technologically advanced fly fishing and hunting hard goods — work grounded by deep, first-hand angling experience, field knowledge, and real-world testing, not just concept or CAD. You are responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch, focusing on innovation, quality, and market trends within the fishing tackle and hunting industry. This role combines technical expertise in materials and engineering with creative direction and team management. You will be a key leader on the Product Team, comprised of 2 direct reports as well as the lead designer of all reels, waders, and wading boots. You will partner with our Product Leadership Team to create clear roles and responsibilities, define our new processes, and identify opportunities for simplification and efficiency. As a leader of multiple team members, you will inspire, guide, teach and elevate your team – owning their professional development and career paths.


Position Interfaces:

This position reports to our Vice President of Product Design, Development, Sourcing, & Import Compliance and interfacing with multiple areas including merchandising, inventory management, marketing, finance, sourcing, wholesale, retail operations, manufacturing and ownership of the company. It is a director role that involves supervision of the Fish/Hunt Hard Goods product design, development/sourcing team. This is an exempt/ salary position.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead a customer-obsessed Fish and Hunt Hard Goods Product Design & Development/Sourcing Team
  • Lead a culture of partnership, communication, and collaboration across the organization
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic plan for new product design and development that aligns to deliver the Assortment Strategy, thus ensuring alignment with market and customer needs as well as company and financials goals, specifically target retail, AUC and IMU across all Fish/Hunt Hard Goods products.
  • Design Inspiration – Lead the Hardgoods / Innovation Design Kickoff, the Design “blank canvas” to push the Orvis brand forward and ensure that we are leaders in innovation.
  • Design Partnership – Partner and collaborate with Soft Goods Designer on seasonal
  • Design Kick Off, DDR and Line Adoption Meetings to ensure a One Orvis Design POV
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee all phases of product design and development for Fish & Hunt Hard Goods, from initial concepting and prototyping to field testing and manufacturing to on time product launch. Ensure that the Hardgoods PDD and Sourcing team is prepared on time for all milestones and inspire cross functional partners across all Hardgoods to prepare milestones and ensure they happen on time.
  • Deliver the Line: Ensure that the products agreed upon through the Design Kickoff and Assortment Strategy deliver on time and are discussed at DDR 1, 2 and Final Line Adoption. Aim for 90% of products aligned upon launch on time.
  • People Management - Coach the team by providing consistent and candid feedback to ensure great partnership and collaboration with cross functional partners.
