Job Summary and Qualifications
The Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) unit at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center treats adults facing blood cancer and hematologic disorders in the Central Texas region. Our 24 bed inpatient unit provides stem cell transplants, Car T cell therapy and clinical trials, with a focus on providing exceptional care and cutting edge treatments close to home. In partnership with Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, we are proud to be the only FACT accredited facility in Austin, Texas.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) on the TCT unit you will be responsible for the care of blood and marrow transplant patients, patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders, patients experiencing oncological emergencies, and others meeting admission criteria. Common diagnoses seen include acute leukemia, non hodgkin’s lymphoma and multiple myeloma. You will be responsible for a maximum of 4 patients in this acute care setting.

POSITION SUMMARY
To provide high quality imaging MRI procedures to our patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner while providing those services in a safe and clean environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education / Training:
Graduate of an ARRT approved program, accredited through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and be registered or working toward certification in the subspecialty of MRI; or hold current ARMRIT certification.
Must be in compliance with CE Requirements.
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
Workplace Experience:
Preference of at least one year of work experience in hospital environment working in MRI after graduation and accreditation; however, willing to train.
Equipment and Skills Training:
General computer knowledge as well as a keen mind for safety
Physical Environment:
Large field strength magnet with a special focus on patient safety and universal precautions practiced in a multi-modality imaging department
Physical Effort:
Possesses the ability to perform multifunctional tasks to include: physically manipulate and operate equipment, assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table; bend, twist, stoop; lift 20 pounds; communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing; make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations; and demonstrate emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians. Must be willing to take call on weekends and at other times as deemed necessary.

- Checks patient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy of request before proceeding with study.
- Questions all patients regarding medical history to include any surgeries which might include implants or Pacemakers and communicates with patient to ensure patient understands study and is as comfortable as possible.
- Provides safe environment for patients. Follows safety procedure at all times and will stop procedure immediately if patient becomes claustrophobic, if any part of body becomes warm, or if patient simply wishes to terminate procedure.
- Communicates regularly DURING MRI procedure to provide the patient with a more pleasant experience.
- Communicates potential or existing problems/opportunities to improve quality of care or services.
- Strives to maintain the dignity of each patient by ensuring the patient is properly covered at all times; during exam and patient transport.
- Seeks opportunities to assist in other areas during downtime, short staff, or high census periods. Always makes good use of time.

- Volunteers for overtime and fill-in when needed. Completes scans ordered or scheduled during their shift.

We are seeking a BC/BE pediatric hematologist/oncologist who will also serve as a clinical faculty member at the assistant/associate professor level. The ideal candidate for this position has a clinical focus and experience in caring for children and adolescents undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. This physician will have a minimum 50% of his/her clinical time dedicated to bone marrow transplant. The allocation of this person's professional time will be 50% clinical transplant, 30% clinical hematology and/or oncology depending on candidate's interest, and 20% for non-clinical responsibilities.
Akron Children's Hospital is a teaching hospital with an AGMCE accredited Hematology/Oncology fellowship training program and a medical school affiliation with Northeast Ohio Medical University.
Programs at the Akron Children's Hospital Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders include hematology, oncology, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, a state-funded sickle cell program and regional hemostasis and thrombosis center. Hematology/oncology care is provided at our hospital in Akron, our Beeghly campus in Boardman, Ohio, and three satellite clinics throughout the region. The Hematology/Oncology team is currently comprised of eleven faculty members, seventeen advanced practice providers and fellows.
Each year the center cares for approximately 90 new oncology patients, 15 stem cell/marrow transplant patients, 160 sickle cell patients and 540 bleeding disorder patients. The staff also provides care during 12,000 patient encounters annually. Akron Children's Hospital is a member of the Children's Oncology Group, house a pediatric transplant center approved by the National Marrow Donor Program, and is one of only 9 pediatric cancer centers in the country verified by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Pediatric Cancer Hospital.

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a dynamic Board Certified/Board Eligible Infectious Disease physician to serve as the founding Director of the new Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Infectious Disease Program at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. This is a unique leadership opportunity to build, develop, and lead a premier BMT ID service from the ground up, establishing clinical protocols, growing a dedicated team, and shaping the future of immunocompromised host care at a leading academic medical center. The role combines this primary focus on program development with clinical responsibilities in general infectious disease, offering a diverse and impactful practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and implementation of the new BMT Infectious Disease program, including creating clinical guidelines, patient care pathways, and quality metrics in coordination with the BMT and Leukemia teams
- Collaborate with ID pharmacists on antibiotic stewardship initiatives
- Provide expert consultation and direct clinical care for patients within the new Leukemia and BMT service
- Maintain a clinical practice in general infectious disease, including management of patients in medical, surgical/trauma, and other specialty areas

Requirements Include
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $30.39per hour - $52.27per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model. Provides primary health care and performs selective medical services under the direction of specialty physicians. Responsible for diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients by completing medical histories, conducting physicals, establishing diagnosis through tests, and formulating treatment plans. Provides follow-up and health maintenance care of patients in accordance with protocols approved by a physician.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Successful Completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, or by that committee's predecessor or successor entities is required. One year of training in the appropriate specialty is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended. Must be currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas. Must maintain current AHA BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental Staff and UMA bylaws. Valid DEA number must be obtained within 90-days of hire.
